A native of southeastern Louisiana (Houma), as rule we do not eat Cajun anything outside of Louisiana. Nate’s is the exception!! Truly a “down the bayou experience. The decor is like most little local restaurants you will find in LA. C. Salvador was our server. He was pleasant and fun. Gave us great information about the restaurant and made our dining experience most enjoyable. I was bouncing back between seafood platter and a steak. He suggested a steak Pontchartrain - ribeye with a mushroom sauce and lump crabmeat. Cooked to perfection , very tasty. My wife had shrimp and catfish. The batter was cornmeal based instead of flour which is very difficult to find outside of Louisiana.
Our meal was served quickly and drinks never low. This is a great don’t miss for a taste of true south Louisiana. Looking forward to dining there again
I was born and reared in Dallas. We are not known for Cajun food here, so it is a blessing to have an authentic Louisiana dining experience in the city. I have been going to Nate's Seafood since 2000. It's my first choice when I'm in the Addison area.
This is my favorite restaurant. Why? First, the atmosphere is very inclusive and caring. I have never had a bad moment at Nate's. I just feel like I'm family. Second, those Louisiana flavors satisfy my Texas palate for spicy and hot vittles.
I can't really suggest any item because it is all good. Them crawfish with JP juice are to die for. I like the blacken chicken. That Pontchartrain sauce is heaven on most items.
Was our first time and it was so Good! I'm from Louisiana and have been frustrated w so-called Cajun food here in Texas. Nate's is the real deal. Boiled crawfish were so good! They were larger medium to large in size. Get the turbo. My husband has the fried seafood platter. Everything was incredible! Stevie was our waiter. He was fun and knew the menu. My only negative is that smoking is allowed and unfortunately it's right at the front door. I wish I could give more than five stars.
Hands down the best crawfish in the Dallas area been going here for many years ~ spices are on point and the crawfish is never over cooked they have mastered the crawfish that’s for sure!!!!
First time to go to Nate's, and it was a great experience. Service was the best, and the food was great. Pricing was very reasonable. I will go again and recommend to others.
Nate's is the best! The ultimate destination for crawfish. The bread and hush puppies are to die for. Shrimp is fresh and tasty. The staff will make you feel right at home. Sit in the bar and ask for Eric or Amanda!!!
Great food with great Friends !
Awesome waiter ! Cherry Rum Sauce Bread Pudding to die for !!
Great ribeye and chicken & sausage gumbo, and this is coming from a Louisiana resident that thought I knew good gumbo.... till i had Nate's
Had an Amazing Birthday at Nates!
Thank you for everything. Food (crawfish) so awesome and the staff and service was stellar. #1 in my book.
Freshest seafood in the Metroplex! Gumbo and hush puppies out of this world! Desiree is a terrific server!
Such a great find! In town for the weekend and stopped in. Their food is AMAZING! My server, Evan, was great! Helped me pick, taught me how to eat a crawfish and was very friendly the whole time. Definitely stop in if you’re in the area
Great food, service, live music & they been doing this for 25+ years that I have experienced. #natesrock #bestmusic #bestseafood #rockingmudbugs #awesomebdaysparties
Great service ,valet parking and fabulous food . And can’t beat da music on a Sunday night🎶🎸
Coming to Nate’s is like being back at home. My wife and I are originally from New Orleans. So it’s very hard to find authentic Cajun food.
Nate’s is the place we come to.
I would recommend anyone who is looking for the “real deal” to check out this place. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
I wasn't overly impressed with Nate's. The food was fine and the price on most things was decent. If I were to stop back in I'd stick to staple dishes like gumbo or a po boy, the entree I had was overrated.
The stuffed shrimp, fried mushrooms and sweet potato fries were all delicious! My friend got the bread pudding said it was good and it was a large, sharable even, piece. The prices are very reasonable. Our waiter checked in us regularly and brought refills quickly during lunch hour. The only negative critique, there were these little hushpuppies or somethings with the bread basket, they were dry and I think overcooked. It could be a one off thing. I'll be returning!
I have been coming here for years. My all time absolute favorite dish at Nate's is their Seafood Gumbo. I prefer the dark roux and Nate's does it better than all. I have never had a bad batch of the fried calamari, always cooked to perfection. They just put up divider's between tables which made me feel safer.
The only criticism I have here is the ambient noise gets to be overwhelming. Noise from the kitchen, from the bar, from the other folks. I will always come back, but not to have a conversation.
Just not what it used to be. Shrimp are small, watery import shrimp unless you specify Gulf shrimp, and pay for it. Gumbo has become inconsistent to me. Great atmosphere and good drinks. Nate's a great guy so I hate dropping my review from 5 stars a year ago, but the quality is dropping off imo
We had originally planned on going somewhere else but stopped here when we saw the decor outside! And I am SO glad we did! Some of the best seafood I have ever had! The food was amazing, the service was great, and there was always something to look at and talk about with the decor inside! We are coming back every time we are in town now!
It is tough to go wrong with steaks and Cajun especially when the chicken fry is built on a Ribeye. The food was exceptional and there was a wide variety to choose from. The atmosphere was a lot of fun and with a little bit of searching parking wasn't a problem. Only issue was slow service, but every restaurant and server are allowed a rough day now and then, especially in this day and time. I will definitely be back.
