Pretty decent. My meal was kinda messed up on my part because I ordered menudo soup. Didnt know it was cow stomach lining until after I had a few funny tasting bites and Googled it. It kinda ruined the rest of my steak based meal. I ordered a steak chimichanga but received a chicken one instead. The waiter fixed it immediately and gave me extra/sauce for free. He also gave my two kids ice cream for free. The alcoholic drinks were a bit weak to me but then again, most restaurants are. Food was decent according to the rest of my family.
Absolutely loved it! The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Entrees were around $6-15 and you got so much food. Definitely my favorite Mexican on the island!
Great food!!!! Good price, bring your own beer 2 per person or 1 bottle wine.
I wasn't expecting too much since we're in Hawaii, but the food was actually pretty good. Their prices were really good for the portions. The service was bad, but they were fairly busy. Overall, we really liked it and will definitely be back when we crave Mexican food!
Excellent food, friendly service. Some of the best beans and rice I've had. The chimichanga was excellent! Portions are big and the complimentary chips and salsa are awesome. Bring your own beer if you wish.
Awesome. The cooks and the waitress are the nicest people. They are prompt and available at all times. Best mexican food on the Island. I am Hispanic and mexican food is what my diet is mainly comprised of. Therefore, trust and believe when I say that this food is good.
Best on the ISLAND - emphasis on the word ISLAND. I moved to Oahu a few months ago from Denver where you see and meet more mexicans than white people. All of my best friends' parents immigrated straight from mexico and have made fantastic meals as well as taken me the best authentic restaurants there. I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD so trying to find a great authentic mexican restaurant in Hawaii has been my mission and so far El Mariachi is my favorite. Sadly I only like 2 things on the menu and the flavor isn't as rich as it is in Colorado but ... it's the BEST ON THE ISLAND....ISLAND. I've noticed other reviews that say they've tried food from Texas and Cali and what not but REMEMBER you're in Hawaii. No one comes to Hawaii for Mexican food. There isn't even much of a Mexican population, so don't expect what you're used to or think is "authentic".
BOTTOM LINE: this place is the best on oahu.
SOURCE: Coloradan with many close 1st generation Mexican friends.

My favorite Mexican on the island by far.
Friendly. Great salsa. Loved the food too. Both times I have been I had the tacos. Best that I have had on island besides the Mexican joint in Haliewa. Wish I could remember the name. I'd have to say that was my favorite on island. Cholos is good but it's the other one.
Food very good with large portions for the price. No free refills and only one bag of chips and salsa free. Just know that if you order cheese dip it's nit like the kinda on the mainland. It's basically a block of cheese melted on a skillet. pretty bland tasting.
So far the best Mexican food on the island.
The atmsophere and food is great if you miss the west coast this place will definatleybring back found memories. The carne asada has the perfect char
Best Mexican food on the island!! Fish n Shrimp ceviche is delicious, very SPICY!! The horchata is also very good! FYI it's BYOB!!
Best authentic Mexican food on the island. Bring your own bottle of your favorite wine if you want too...
Good food!. One of the better restaurants in Hawaii, definitely recommend!

LOVED THIS PLACE! Best beans and tortillas. We enjoyed the sopaipillas... Though not on the menu... Still tasty but not the original sopaipillas. More like bunuellos.
Best Mexican Food on the island. Found this gem via google and followed other reviewer's recommendations to check it out. The location is really close to where I live, so that was a definite plus. The inside of the restaurant is clean, completely open and quiet. When we came in the place was empty, but the waitress was on the ball and extremely friendly. We were quickly brought fresh tortilla chips and what appeared to be homemade salsa (which was great!). I ordered a Chimichanga and my husband got a massive fajita burrito. They were both fresh and absolutely great. Huge portions, and great prices. There was even a pleasant breeze going through the area as we ate our lunch. Great experience and we are definitely going back!
Awesome Restaurant. We are originally from New Mexico and the food at both of the El Mariache locations is the best Mexican Food we have tasted here on the island. The people are friendly and one of the best things is you can take your own beer in with you!!!! If your looking for authentic Mexican food this is the place to go!
El Mariachi II. Amazing service and food. Best Mexican food I've had in years!
Amazing food. Mexican owned and operated. Need I say more. Little overpriced.

Good food but no alcohol.
It was pretty good and pretty cheap. I would recommend this place.
Great service. Mexican slow food that has great flavor, except for the Spanish rice and refried beans which need work. Cheap and filling, what more do you need?
The hunt for the best Mexican food on Oahu is FINALLY over (and we have been here 5 years) because this place is it. I don't know how they make such simple ingredients incredible, but they did. Going to have a hard time not eating there 5 times a week. Highly recommend.
The food and service is outstanding‼️
No matter what you order, you're going to want it again, and again, 😋 and again. 🤤
Good Mexican food isn't easy to find on an island. So, El Mariachi is like finding that rare gem 💎 on a plate 🍽
Best Mexican food on island. Ppl talk about Alejandro’s or serges tacos blah blah. Those places are over priced and not even that flavorful. This place was good. We from California, Los Angeles and so that means we claim to have great Mexican food. This restaurant was the best we’ve tried on island. Also it’s BYOB
Best Mexican food I had in Oahu this is legit Mexican from the hacienda! I like their huge burritos and 2 or 3 choice combination meals usually of enchiladas and quesadillas or burrito. Ground beef has good flavor and well seasoned. Mex rice and beans is ono as well.
So this place, and a lot of places in Hawaii, are notorious for upcharging for little things like extra sauce but not being transparent about it until the bill comes. Are we dress seemed very young and inexperienced but other than that it was a good little bite.
I stopped in for lunch and a pretty decent taco plate. I'll be back to try their other mexican dishes
I’ve eaten here long time ago and I believe it was good but this time…it was still good!
No wait, plenty opens tables at about 1ish.
I ordered ala carte items: Spanish rice, shredded chicken enchilada and a shredded beef taco - all were delicious, but the corn tortilla for the enchilada was a little stiff/hard. Boyfriend got the carne asada chimichanga - yummy!
Chips and salsa were also provided - good too! Service was good. They satisfied my Mexican food craving!
Great food, although the salsa was just meh, service was fine, 3 item platter and two soft drinks was $22+tip. After covid this place will be better, as there was a long wait because of limited seating. Overall though, I do recommend it, it beats the other Mexican food we've had on the island.
Great Mexican food at a good price. Picture shows 3 meals ordered, which included 2 each of the 3 choice combo platter, and one chicken fajita. Each for less then $15, and they tasted great too.
Great food, great atmosphere... Definitely bringing the Mexico vibe!
OMG!! Everything I was hoping it would be and more. Phenomenal civiche, spicy shrimp cocktail, quacamole, street tacos, flan... it was perfect!!
In Honolulu working for 3 months and I finally found some good authentic Mexican food! The servers had great customer service as well. I’ll be visiting a few times while I’m here.
Very good food love the horschata drink just like the other locations all the food is on point. Music was a little to loud though. Thank you for the delicious food
Best Mexican food you can possibly find outside of Southern California. Simply the best we found, we went to every restaurant and food truck we could find for Mexican food, this is the spot. Just go
The staff was very warm and friendly. Food portion was favorable. What won me was when she offered to let me sample the rice and bean to see if I wanted it. If you are in the area definitely stop by and enjoy a pleasant, and flavorful meal.
