How do you finally review a place you've been to dozens of times in the last 20+ years that holds a special place in your heart? My first taste of Korea was here. It's changed ownership a few times since the early 90's, but one thing has remained constant: the food is prepared by Korean hands. And I thank Fairchild AFB for that, because a lot of us service members came home from a year's tour in the ROK with more than just the experience. Ain't love grand? And so is delicious kimchi. No grandiose comments from me this time about the food, because I've had everything on the menu and it's all wonderful. I will echo the sentiments from another reviewer that if you choose this place for lunch while working, you better call your order in 15-20 mins ahead. It's always cooked fresh, and that takes time. I experienced this food years before I was stationed in Korea, but I will say that my dining experiences, then, were part of the reason I requested assignment to 'The Peninsula.' I love Korean food, and it's nice to know it all started here...
This place is amazing! I had the spicy squid and loved it! They serve your meal with a variety of sides which are great palate cleansers and are delicious as well. Will definitely return. 😍
My husband and I go here about 3 times a month. Best food in Spokane. Hands down. So flavorful, so cheap, and the owner is super nice. I have nothing but love for this establishment
Been there. I served in Korea back in the early seventies, this place brought back old memories. Love the food, especially the kimchi and yaki mon do. the bulgogi is also good and their soups are great. I'll have to get back over there soon. Long drive from Coeur d'Alene, wish they would open one over here.
Great sides, friendly, worth it. This place was a nice joint with VERY friendly and attentive staff. The portions were huge, and all the sides were excellent. I couldn't say enough good things about it. Since I'm not used to Korean food, I was impressed with the variations offered on the menu. It's not fine dining, but the food was tasty. Spent 35.00 for two of us, we left stuffed and with left overs.
Giddy up and go try it.
Great "hole-in-the-wall" place for Korean food. The food tasted great, and the staff was amazing. I would highly recommend this establishment. Also has a military discount.
Love it! My husband and I come here quite often. There food is always made fresh and their Bon chon (side dishes) are amazing. The owners treat you like family and are always aiming to please. Definitely give it a try, you won't be disappointed :)
Great lunch but call ahead. Love the food here. but if you go for lunch from work you're best to call your order in 10 minutes from heading out. they can get busy, and they make it all fresh
YUM. Best damn Kim Chi EVER!!!!!!!
Authentic for sure. I served in Korea in the late 90's, and this place is the BEST Korean I have had since then. Even the "Korean" places around FT Lewis are no where close to the quality and authenticity.
I highly recommend it.
Just eat it. We have been eating here since they opened-- dont know how long, about 20 years. the entrees are good but the best part is the varied assortment of sides in little ceramic dishes. Kimchi, long radish, and this potato thing that is out of this world. Always a large crowd of servicepeople eating here, especially at lunch. they know.
One of my favorites!. Authentic, yummy Korean food in a simple setting. Low prices, high quality, friendly staff. Worth the drive.
Wonderful. We had dinner one evening after picking up some friends at the airport. My hubbie and I were in the military and have had authentic Korean food. This little place rates as high or higher than most places we have eaten. The staff were fun and efficient. We will going back- soon!!
I live in Spokane WA USA for 2 years now and this is the best place I've been to. The food is beyond perfect. Super delicious. And the lady who served us made us feel like being loved by our loving mother. She is very very nice.
The food was DELICIOUS! We had Dol Sot Bi Bimp and Sonn Dubu Jiggae… you will not be disappointed! If I lived out here, we’d make this a regular spot! My husband is Korean and a GREAT cook, so we were hesitant…..So glad we took a chance! Great food, friendly staff.
I came in for lunch at about 1, and the place was empty. And then after I took my order, the whole place filled up.
The wait was a little long for the spicy pork, but it’s because it’s cooked over the fire. It had good crispy flaky char, and a red stain from seasoning. The wait is worth it.
You get free sides, and bigger portions after lunch (I think).
Hospitality couldn’t have been better. 👍🏽
Awesome food! A little hole in the wall and hard to find but is well worth it! Stopped by for lunch and had the spicy pork. Great food, great service, and great prices!
Excellent Korean food. I kept it non-spicy & tried the Teriyaki BBQ ribs, which were amazing. Honestly, this was better than most of the Asian food places I've ever been in my life. This was my first visit & I look forward to returning.
Great food, amazing service. Nice variety of side dishes, though the soup was not spicy enough. Still, I'll be revisiting!
For years, this place has been my #1 spot for Korean food . Like no other!
