My son and daughter in law were visiting from Vermont and as we all love Asian cuisine we chose Cilantro based on the online ratings and were not disappointed.
Due to food allergies they eat pretty much a vegan diet and the options on the menu were ample and the staff was very accommodating with substitutions. They loved the vegetable sushi rolls.
I have to admit however that I was not impressed with the spicy tuna roll that I ordered. The fish did not taste fresh and there was entirely too much spicy Mayo that dominated the flavor profile.
Spring rolls were a bit dense but very tasty!
Our entrees were also tasty and quite enjoyable with huge portion sizes!

Everything I've had at Cilantro has been terrific. I particularly enjoyed the massaman curry and eggplant basil. These are dishes I've had at many places but Cilantro made them as well as I've ever had them. The sauces with the satay were also terrific. That's what has really stood out to me so far in my visits to Cilantro. I'm a sauce guy and their sauces are superb. I also really like the ambiance at Cilantro!

This was our first time here. We had just ridden 10 miles on it towpath trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park on an 85° day and we looked like it. We were just looking for a new Asian place to eat at and found this place. We had no idea what kind of place it was because we couldn't tell from the facade outside. I wish we didn't look the way we did, but it was what it was; we were hungry and it smelled delicious. This is a very nice, chill, swanky place. We went on July 2nd of 2022, so not only was it 4th of July weekend but there were are also protests going on downtown, so it wasn't very crowded at all. We sat at the bar. The bartender was super nice and excellent at his job and at being attentive to us. We ordered pork gyoza, Singapore noodles, and chicken in garlic, along with three sushi rolls. Everything was delicious. Probably the most savory meal I had in a long time. My boyfriend also ordered a beer and I got an iced tea. It came $99 with tax, but this isn't a place we would go to all the time and we were treating ourselves. We will definitely go back. It's also about a 50 minute drive from our house to get here, but that's not going to deter me from eating there again.

Top notch sushi, really good Thai food. Thoroughly enjoyed it, overall relaxing environment and good vibes. Prices are reasonable, ate a three course meal with two rounds of drinks, plus sake for under $50. Left feeling stuffed and overall the quality of all the food is extraordinary! Nice staff, attentive overall I give the place a 9.5/10 rating. Will be back again to try the duck for sure, cannot wait!

Alright so I went back and a couple things. Did NOT enjoy the crab puffs, or the chicken spring rolls. Sorry ma, or pa, whoever is on the spring roll and crab puffs. Time for new recipes.
The sushi is absolutely delicious, I love the spicy rolls, and can't wait to try the duck and the Ramen but seriously 86 those current recipes, they were a let down compared to the quality of the other food.
Wonton soup is a must have, great tasting and overall super enjoyable.

Best Thai restaurant in the area. I have been eating in this place more than 10 years and they always kept the quality high.
I tried pad see ew in so many restaurants but never had the same taste. Their hot oil is also special.
It has a nice atmosphere and I like their patio as well.

We had a very nice dinner. The duck curry was tender, spicy and had a nice crunch of the skin! My girlfriend had the Cilantro roll and she loved it! It was not crowded for a Friday night. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.

Staff was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable of dishes. Price was right on point for nice portions. I'm no sushi officianado but everything tasted fresh, from the veggies to the fish. Definitely recommend.

Decent meal, nothing to exciting though! Great environment, with large open view of downtown. Has all the flare of fine dining just expected a slightly elevated food to accompany. Not to say the food was not delicious just more average than the atmosphere portrayed.

I believed he didn't give me the right dish so the server called the mgr and he assured me it was correct but I didn't get mushrooms and didn't ever have yakisoba with those noodles and the dish had no flavor and his sauces were old,of coarse noone would know that unless they have worked in Japanese, Chinese and Thai resteraunt like myself. The owner was an arrogant prick and Im sure the resteraunt will lose its ass fast

Food was delicious. All of the sushi I got was very tasty. My entree was alright, but I'd get the Basil Duck if I went back again (tried a bite of my boyfriend's)
Went with a group of 8 other people, half of which were in bad moods & didn't seem to understand that asking for appetizers first would result in a two course meal and therefore delay entrees while they allowed time for us to eat. (Not to mention that a large, unexpected party usually takes some time anyway) The waitstaff was actually really courteous, unlike a previous review from the already grumpy half of the party stated.
Out food did take a while to come out, but it felt natural with plenty of time to socialize and enjoy the company of friends (At least the half who were actually decent). Our checks did take some time to arrive, but there was an apology for the delay as the manager was needed to fix something.
Overall a good experience for food.

My wife and I were just there Thursday for our 27th anniversary. We had the crab cakes,mushroom soup,two orders of cilantro rolls. We loved everything!!!! Our server Brett was fantastic! He kept our glasses full, plus always making sure we had a good experience.

My husband and I go quite a bit, as it has become our favorite date night restaurant with a cool atmosphere. Yesterday I had drinks and dinner with my friend, it took 20 minutes before anyone came and asked if we wanted water, then another 20 before our waiter took an order, worst service by far. Probably won’t be back for awhile 👎🏽

This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Akron the food is absolutely phenomenal service is great the atmosphere is beautiful but what I like the most is that they offer vegan options and it's absolutely excellent the mock duck is my favorite!!! Funny I read other reviews stating bad service...I have been to Cilantro several times and my service has been spot on very attentive every time! I believe you need to sell yourself to the hostess and your servers right up front. I have been very please with all of my dinners and the treatment during my visits. I will return and recommend Cilantro!

The food was very good. However, the service was dreadful. We had to go to the hostess stand to get a serve to get a drink order from us. Then he barely paid us any attention. We had to ask him more than once for a dessert menu. We weren't going to get dessert, but he saw we were celebrating birthdays and said the birthday person gets a free dessert (awesome, right), except that we were charged for the desserts.
We had to ask multiple times for our checks, told him more than once how to divide them (a party of three and a party of five). We had to ask twice for a box for leftovers (though the food was super yummy, there wasn't much left). Our water glasses weren't kept full. It's the little things.
Basically, on a very slow Wednesday night, we were treated as though it was a super busy Saturday and we arrived without reservations (and we even had reservations).
It wasn't an all bad experience. The spicy tuna roll was fantastic as was the pad Thai (spice level 3). I ate every bite. My three year old loved his chicken satay (no kids menu here) and my daughter liked her calamari tempura.
I'll go back for sushi and pad Thai anytime, but I'll be making sure it's a little busier and we're seated in a more visible area - we were literally in the back corner.

The ambience is lovely. Clean, clear dining area makes viewing easy. The menu was worn out with extremely small print making it difficult to get through in a reasonable amount of time. The huge Eagle wall sculpture behind the bar was impressive. The sushi was well presented and the seaweed salad was tasty. I could have had a whole meal of the salad. Will definitely go back next time we are on Akron.

I ate there for the first time last night 3/23/17. I sat at the regular bar and ordered sushi (realizing after there was a sushi bar. "J" was. Y bartender and she rocked!!🤘🏼 She was very knowledgeable on the sushi and cuisine and I tried new things. She was NOT overbearing or overwhelming.
She also reviewed hours, lunch specials and made my evening very pleasant since I was there alone. We even brushed up on my Thai and her English (she's from Thailand!!) I give it a 5 star GOLD rating! It was phenomonial! I've eaten at MANY sushi restaurants in Ohio, Cali, New York, etc, and this by far was one of the tastiest and friendliest I've came across! 👍🏼👍🏼🍣
I will be recommending ALL FAMILY AND FRIENDS to try this diamond in the rough.

They don't even deserve 1 star.. We had a party of 6 and voiced concerns of our food. Long story short the man who stated he was the owner stated said he has been open 7 years and he didn't care about our complaints.. Going to find out who the real owner is to make a report of everything. Going to report this.

Food was really good and it's a nice atmosphere. We had a 7:00pm reservation and had tickets for an 8:00pm show at the Civic Theater. We deliberately ordered everything at once right at the beginning and our food did not come until after 8:00pm. Obviously things happen but this was pretty bad, did I mention the food was still really good
