This was my mother an I first time eating in Albuquerque. We asked around where the best place to eat was at Los Cuates. I gotta say its the best we've had an we love red an green chili. We will be back for the great dish an friendly service. Thank you
Soooo delicious! Authentic taste, Service was fast and on point. Way better than the Mexican/Tex-Mex Food in Texas. Sorry Texas, lol!
Awesome food, perfect atmosphere, and outstanding staff. Los Cuates is always our first stop when we fly in to visit Albuquerque!
We visited the Westside location for dinner tonight and the service was phenomenal. Our drinks were never less than half-full, everything was brought out in a timely fashion and to-go boxes were offered, along with to-go drinks. The food tasted amazing and we will definitely be returning!
Being going here for chicken enchilada dinner oh it's the best!!! The only thing I don't like is the parking... it's hard to find a parking spot....
Always the best!! Superb service & delicious food! For many years we've come here!
Food was delicious. The waitress was courteous and friendly, but the busboy threw our chips on table and didn't even address us. He threw our chips in front of us and turn around flew back to the back room.
I had an incredible experience here. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. There were plenty of well decorated spaces for dining options. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. The virgin margaritas weren’t that great but it was worth the try. Everyone was super nice. Even the other patrons. It felt like a family meal. The food portions are huge and you can get full off the chips and salsa alone. I took my leftovers to go and they provided utensils and packaging which was super helpful. The service alone would definitely make me come back here and most importantly the food was delicious.

Talk about bringing back great memories! I moved away to NY years ago so Los Cuates was a must see when we visited 9/22/23! This place was a staple in my upbringing and my children’s! I felt like I had to add seasonings and spice to my food so I wasn’t blown away impressed or angry. I had excellent company with R.S. and my 2 youngest kiddos! Host was full of warmth which brought smiles to my heart!
Awesome awesome awesome everything is very nice to go somewhere these days and get everything done perfectly from the food to the definitely no complaints is a great experience and I definitely recommend for the lunch I'm sure that dinner time dining is great as well 🙏🏻😁😁😁😁🤤🤤🤤💚💛💛👌🏻👍🏻
Updated review 5 Aug 2023: my significant other and I stopped here for dinner a little after five this evening. We sat in the back corner of the cantina, and we had THE BEST server ever out of all the times we've been here. I should have gotten his name, but he was an older gentleman with a beard whom was also making the drinks at the bar while serving tables. We didn't have to ask him for a single thing; he was on top of everything, from the moment he first stopped at our table until the moment we were walking away to leave. We are completely satisfied with our phenomenal server and the always amazing food (see my two new photos added from this visit)!
P.S.: Our food was made wicked fast but also perfectly! They're making pure magic in that kitchen!
Older review: I've been here three times within the past two months, and although it's not the same as when I was a kid, it's still delicious and the best New Mexican food in the state! The sopapillas seem to have changed, but I still enjoy them.
The food is consistently delicious, the drinks are made perfectly, and the atmosphere can't be beat! But most of all, the servers are friendly, hard-working, and attentive; they really make every dine-in experience great! The cantina is my favorite spot, but every dining area is nice to be in.
The photos are from my most recent visit. :) The salsa that comes with the chips is just as I remember it being when I was a kid, and the reason I'm so picky about other salsa, haha. We will be back!
Brian was the warmest energy for a table of hungry home-visiting New Englanders.
The sopapillas are gas, the Carne Adovada's absolute gas. The SALSA?! Out of this world super-ripened beautifully sweet heat complemented beautifully by tableside honey.
I love this place.
A great example of New Mexican cuisine. The chili is flavorful and thick. The soppa are light and fluffy. The servers are very friendly and attentive to customers. The only short coming if one is to be named is the room is dark. The decor is a bit dated but clean. The salsa has a different pickled pepper taste I really enjoyed.
Los Cuates has been in this location forever! But somehow, we've only recently decided it's our favorite Mexican joint. I feel pretty certain it's the cheese. They don't skimp. The chicken enchiladas are always good, but I like mine rolled, unlike most New Mexicans. We usually sit in the bar and order off the menu. Had the same server a couple times and he's always nice and chill. Another good spot to relax and get good food.
Beautiful, awesome, excellent Hispanic/Mexican restaurant! Great for kids and chips and salsa might be the best in town!
Still our favorite local New Mexican food restaurant. I do recommend the Lomas location as the best location. Their food always seems to be a bit better than the other locations. I do wish they would get their salsa bottled again, but you can still get it if you come asking for it and are ok with getting it in a to-go type container.
I had the Indian taco And it may very well be one of the greatest plates I ever had. Very large portions, great to split. I am still full and satisfied. Service was exceptional, the place is clean and pretty. New Favorite???? Perhaps.
The food was yummy and there was plenty of it 😋 We started with a delicious guacamole salad plus the savory red salsa and chips that are always an excellent choice as a starter! The margaritas 🍹 were lovely 😍 Rellenos and the Franks combination plate were all top notch! Excellent service 👏 This is our favorite Mexican restaurant!!
All time favorite place to eat New Mexican Food! If you're new to the area and are looking for a great authentic restaurant to get the taste of New Mexico then look no farther! This place has been here longer then I've been alive lol.
The bell man at the Marriott recommended we try Los Cuates and we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful meal at Los Cuates. Our server Austin was great. He made awesome recommendations, told us about the Sopapillas and honey, and was great with my nephew. Plates are huge, drinks are great, and the service is the icing on the cake!
AMAZING CHILE RELLANOS! Waiter was very polite and attentive. Refilled our drinks, and came back to check on us. Food came out of the kitchen fast. Great atmosphere. Five stars today for professional service, and amazing New Mexican plates. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
I got the chiles rellenos, x-mas, and they were delicious and spicy. The food came out so quickly also. The margaritas could be a bit stronger, but other than that, it was a wonderful experience!
New Mexican food done very well. It has been an area favorite for over 25 years. Offers both dine in and take out (call ahead for take out). Lots of new items on the menu after the change of owners but kept a lot of the old favorites. Strongly recommend this for people who want to eat where locals eat 😊🫶🏼
Excellent food every single time. Fast and fresh. Service is beyond excellent. Frank is an amazing server!
