It is a really awesome place. A little pricey, but kinda understandable since you're getting fresh seafood. This is the only place I know of to get fresh seafood this far away from the ocean. You walk in there is a chalkboard on the wall, and it list all the going prices per pound. Pick your meat/meats, and your throw ins, like a potato or corn on the cob. Then pick you're seasoning and how spicy you want it. They boil it up and serve it to you in the boil bag. It is a true Cajun seafood expirience, and probably my most favorite place in all of Albuquerque to eat.
After googling seafood in Abq we came across this restaurant, we've had similar places in California and Phoenix so figured why not! The waitress was amazing, she even helped me tie my bib when it came undone and my hands were dirty! The food was some of the best we've had on our trips to Abq. We will recommend to others and come again!!
Great waitress. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We just moved from Virginia and had a craving for seafood and this place satisfied it. Many options to select from as far as the type of seafood and the flavoring of the butter based sauce you'd like it served in. Possibilities are virtually endless. Most items are served by the pound and are decently priced for the quality. I ordered a side of butter but didn't need it due to amazing flavor already in infused. We would definitely go there again.. be prepared to 'get down and dirty'
Down N Dirty is the bomb! Great service and great food at a great price. They are very consistent. The fish is fresh. Lots of variety on the menu. Itβs not fancy but it sure is good, Iβm usually planning my return as I walk out the door.
Delicious seafood for reasonable prices! Atmosphere was great and our server was fantastic. Annie made us feel at home with excellent service! Definitely a hidden gem!

Have been to this place on multiple times. The food has always been awesome and well worth it. We even tried the competition and hands done had nothing on down n dirty. Will always come back.

A great place to go eat!!! I've been twice and the more I get to know the menu the better it gets! I don't cry about the prices. Your buying seafood by the pound not the slice lol. I always get sausage and potato with my meal. Helps balance it all out. I usually get the cheap stuff too. Down and dirty seasoning. Medium or hot. Best to go with friend and SHARE since it's all by the pound then split the bill. Blue moon on the side π enjoy!
Yum yum yum. I ate here a few months ago and I'm still thinking about it. To be honest, in the first few minutes of putting my hands into the super messy buttery bags of goodness, I wasn't sure that this was a dining experience for me. After a few bites though, I was convinced. Not a fancy place, but you'll be so deep in seafood that you won't notice. Make sure that you add corn, potatoes, sausage, etc to your boil. Nobody mentioned that to us and it's the only reason I didn't give it a 5. You won't be disappointed here.
Great seafood. Excellent seafood boil for being in ABQ! Went here once, and attempted to dine here again, but a series of unfortunate events has prevented us from coming here. 1) Attempted to arrive early but there was a huge accident on the road leading to the restaurant, so had to go all the way around and by the time we arrived there was an hour long wait 2) Attempted to come here but when we arrived the power was out! Excellent flavors and seafood.
Good just like cracking crab. Its exactly like cracking crab, just doesn't serve beer.

Having grown up in the south near the coast, I love seafood!!! After moving to Albuquerque almost 10 years ago and trying multiple seafood restaurants, I have finally found THE one. Our family went tonight and LOVED it. Everything was so good.
Down and Dirty Crab Claws. Spicy just right, crab claws pure meat no cracking involved had with corn on cob just enough food
OMG. Being from La. I find it hard to find a restaurant that has good southern style seafood. Down and Dirty hit it on the head. Not only is the food awesome but they present it in a way that made me home sick. Your dining experience in Albuquerque in not complete unless you try here.

One of a kind seafood boils in Albuquerque. Last night I remembered why I had to go back to Down n Dirty. The seafood boils are just amazing. And even though the line was out the door, they offered me a table for 2 since the bar had filled up with a one hour wait. I decided to risk the wait and some friends showed up and asked me to join them. I ordered the shrimp seasoned d & d medium heat and can still taste the spices this morning. Mmmm. That's the way every meal should be and this new spot shouldn't change a thing.
I have been waiting for a restaurant like this my whole life here in Albuquerque. I have been to New Orleans where I had the best crawfish of my life and and longed for the savory flavor that is not easy to come by here in Albuquerque, until now!! Down N Dirty is down right fantastic and will be frequented as much as possible! The crawfish, crab, clams and mussels bathed in their sauce and exploded on the taste buds!! If your looking a new place to grab the best food ever this is the place!!!
SEAFOOD LOVER!. What a great way to eat seafood! My coworkers and I really enjoyed it. I love the way its priced by the pound. We had the cajun seasoning with Shrimp. Crab, Crawfish, Andoiulle Sausage, and Potatoes. It was 5 of us with a $90 tab to split and we had food left over. I would say if you like Joes Steampots then you would LOVE this!
Excellent little spot nested in the north valley.What a treat to find affordable delicious seafood so close to home. Place is small and cozy and if you don't like seafood there isn't an alternative on the menu, but that doesn't bother us. Definitely a new favorite spot of ours. Food served in a bag and its fun to eat with your hands and get dirty.
This place is awesome and I can't wait to go back! I had the clams and shrimp and my Sweetie had the scallop boil. The seafood was so fresh and the side dishes were so large you can easily share them. My only regret is that I didn't notice the bread on the menu until I was done with my meal and would have enjoyed dipping it in the seafood broth.
Luv luv! Thankful to have a place like this here finally! It's different and good. Luv the dirty (hence no utensil) and-considering it's the desert-pretty dang fresh!
I'm from Louisiana and decided to try this place with high hopes of being reminded of home. I have to say I was not at all disappointed. Not to mention, you can not beat the prices. Amazing food, great prices and staff. Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Albuquerque.
We absolutely love this place.. Were here on average 2-3 times per week.. And believe me when I say delicious! Yes you get Dirty but that's 1/2 the fun!!

If your craving Joe's Crab Shack this is the place to go, minus the bucket. Delicious! Can pick your own spice and sides (corn, potatos, etc.). Will def go back!
π¦π My fiance and I saw that down N Dirty served seafood sandwiches and I wanted to try one, but we went to the wrong place, and this Down N Dirty had less menu options than the other place. Don't get confused. Also, if you see a picture of a dirty napkin, that is grease that we had to wipe off of the salt shaker that was just given to us by the server. Overall the restaurant was not that clean π. The food was pretty good, and that's what saves this restaurant π½π. I even found some empty tanks on my way to the bathroom that show they keep seafood fresh. But I would definitely recommend going to the other Down N Dirty in Albuquerque over here.
Great place to enjoy fried seafood, from oysters to fresh fish. Not sure about the source of the seafood but it's good enough for a place not even close to the sea. Also, they offer something different from the usual fare that you get to enjoy in Albuquerque, like Soft Shell Crab and the oysters!
Im here now for my first time, should be good, my coworker is getting alligator and im getting blue mussels and fried okra, this is gonna be good, is like empty so its nice and cozy, great place to stop for lunch at work

Great food and staff!!! I had the catfish and sweet potato fries and my husband had the fish n chips (he's from London) We both agreed...that was the best food we've had in Albuquerque so far! That will be our special dining place! We loved it!!! The chef and servers are so down to earth! Everyone there were ordering boiled seafood. We'll get that next visit! You gotta try it!!!

Casual, no reservations but nobody had to wait, pretty busy but not quite full. Patio was not set up. Food was very good, we both had the shrimp and thought it was great! My wife had a side of fried green beans while I had the andouille sausage, and both were very good. Don't come looking for a salad bar or fancy desserts. Boiled seafood in spice is delicious and filling, and a nice change of pace from most other restaurants.
Awesome experience! Waitresses were wonderful and accommodating! The food was plentiful and delicious! Prices were a little steep, but the overall experience was worth it and then some. I know that my family and I will be returning at least once a month!
Really good food - this type of seafood boil place was a surprise to find in Albuquerque! We had a variety of foods at medium spice levels and everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It was a little pricey but that was my fault for ordering EVERYTHING that looked good!

This is the first location they opened up in Town. We like to go here, the food is great, there is a nice outside patio to eat on in the summer months. Slight drawback here is that they do not serve beer/drinks, which the other location on Wyoming does. I guess, sometimes that's good, so one can focus on eating. Anyway, we'll keep coming back when in the area.
Food was great. I ordered carryout. It was ready quickly. The pound of crab legs was questionable. I usually get two clusters in a pound other places, and these were not any larger than normal. There must have been lots of ice when they weighed it. The pound of shrimp seemed about right. See my pic with food and receipt. I've also included a picture of some variable prices.
