I'm in town over the weekend and was surprised to find a Turkish restaurant.
I had an Adona Kabob with a salad and rice which were all nicely prepared. The Turkish hot tea was just as good as the tea I've had in Turkey.
The decor has nice pictures of Turkey and the staff is very nice.
I will keep this place in mind for the next time I'm back. Definitely would recommend.
Amazing food and wonderful service. The falafel and adana kebab were amazing. I have been twice and never had a bad, or even lack luster meal. If you enjoy Turkish cuisine, do yourself a favor and visit Anatolia, you will not leave less than completely satisfied.
I love Anatolia's flavorful, fresh-made food. It's gluten-free friendly. Sometimes, they have gluten free pita you can request and instead of a complimentary slice of baklava at the end of the meal, they will give me a little Turkish candy. My favorite plate to order is the Adana Shish Kebab Plate with a side of falafel and dolmas. Every day on Facebook, they advertise their special of the day. I love the lamb specials! All in all, I would definitely recommend this place. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because their hours are inconsistent. Sometimes they close early, if it's slow. For that reason, I would definitely recommend calling ahead of time to make sure they're still open.
Great flavor with bright tart flavors of Turkey. The owner was involved and personable. The decor was a tad 'cafeteria' with fluorescent lighting and generic Mediterranean views on the walls but the food made up for the only flaw I see at this place. As you walk in you are greeted warmly and are in full view of their TripAdvisor 5-star rating certificate. All in all the flavors are traditional, the service is top notch, and you can get out of their with a first date tab around 20 dollars. Love it.
Homestyle Turkish Food, Personable Owner, and Authentic Taste. Anatolia was one of our first ventures into Turkish Cuisine and they were rated as one of the top restaurants on both UrbanSpoon and TripAdvisor receiving a Certificate of Excellence in 2015 you can really see why as soon as you walk in. Your are greeted right away by the owner a very friendly and involved Turkish gentleman who is proud to talk about his food and how it is made. He also passes along great knowledge with tales of his homeland. The food assures everything is homemade with the spices and hard work evident in both the Doner Chicken and Beef Plate. The onion salad complements the meats with its bright salad dressing that brings the rice to life with a punch of lemon juice. The creamy cacik with fresh baked pita bread is unbeatable with your meal. Its a creamy cucumber sauce that will pair well with your rice as well. All in all I know we will be back to Anatolia in the near future to try the rest of the menu.
Friendly. The food here had my husband and I talking about it all the way back to Colorado. I got the chicken doner plate, hummus and baklavah. We ordered falafel for our kids and my husband got the combo platter. We had a wide selection and nothing was so-so. Superb.
Must go. We have just eaten there. Had a perfect Turkish coffee while waiting for our to go dinner. Music is very soothing and conducive to the meal we were about to have. My opinion is that it was all made in heaven and delivered straight to our plate. The best lamb chops I had in years! My husband DOESN'T like baklava, and he loved the one we had at Anatolia.
Sorry, no pictures taken. The smell was so wonderful, we couldn't wait to start eating. Now, our plan is to go back and taste each one of their menu items.
Great Downtown Eatery!. Perfect for the Downtown lunch crowd. Delicious food! Just keep in mind that it will probably take right about an hour from walking in to leaving depending on how fast you eat. Took a little while to get the food, but understandable with how good and fresh made it was!
Just try them :). This is a fantastic restaurant. It is reasonably priced, the owners are very friendly and nice, and the food is excellent. The spicy ground lamb shish kebab dinner is great. The hummus appetizer is some of the best hummus I've had. Now they have fantastic a Liver of lamb shish kebab too :)

Nom. This is my happy place. I hate baklava, but after having the baklava here, I told everyone I know I want this to be my birthday present. The lamb is always amazingly tender but still has flavor without being gamey. I love the spicy baba ganoush and hummus. The owner is really nice and always comes to talk to me, plus, if you're willing to try new things he'll recommend something great.
Great food, good prices. This place is a hidden gem, with delicious food at very reasonable prices for Downtown. Although their address is listed as being on Central, it's actually about a half block north of Central on 6th St. I like the Adana Shish Kebab, which is spicy ground beef. Often when you hear ground beef, you think boring, but this is delicious, with a really spicy kick. Get a roasted green chile with it, and it's even better. The chicken kebab is really good as well. Most meals come with rice, salad and pita bread with cacik (similar to tzatziki) and a bite sized piece of bakalava, all for around $6.50-8.50. Service is OK, sometimes really good and sometimes rather lackluster. My main complaint is that their menu doesn't really describe many of the kebabs, so you are left wondering exactly what are the ingredients in the Kofte kebab or the Adana kebab or the Muhammara appetizer.
Excellent. I can't describe how good this place is. Just go! Note it's on 6th street (near alley of central), the address is confusing. You won't regret it. Not fast food, not slow either. Just wait, good food takes time to prepare.

We had an amazing lunch at Anatolia’s today. I had never tried Turkish food, but the waitress was very helpful.
Appetizers of Baba Ganoush and Falafel were excellent and my plate of Chicken Doner Kebab was to die for. I love how they presented the plate with a freshly roasted green chile! The chicken is perfectly grilled and seasoned. My brother tried the lamb kebab and it was also delicious, highly seasoned and grilled to perfection.
The food was great, but so is the management. I was sitting where I could see where I parked. They have a few parking spots in the pay lot across the street, but I was unaware of how it worked. The parking attendant left a ‘ticket’ on my car as I watched. So, the manager walked across in the rain to straighten it out for me. Now, that’s commitment to service! I was thankful for the help, but then he also brought us a free dessert, two heavenly bite size pieces of Baklava.
I can’t praise this establishment enough. With so many places giving just so-so service (or worse) it is indeed refreshing to see the opposite. And did I mention the prices are reasonable as well? If I could give additional stars, I would.
It's true. They put their heart into the food. The atmosphere is simple and slightly rundown, but the food more than makes up for it. Get the falafel and save room for baklava!

Their Baklava Is Absolute Heaven. My 3 friends and I met here for dinner tonight. None of us had been there before, but I had read good things about it here on urbanspoon, so that's what urged us to try it.
The location is basically 6th and Central (with the store facing 6th), since it shares building space with a few other small businesses, so it was easy to find. (The menu urged us to ask about their free parking. We didn't need to, since it was after the time that the parking meters were running. The menu also boasted that they have free delivery for around the Downtown area, which is wonderful.)
The food is Turkish. 2 of my friends had the spicy chicken, I believe, while I split the meat grill with my other friend. The price for most dinner entrees was 8.50. Our "meat grill" was 14.95. I figured since this item cost so much more, there would be more food, which is why my friend and I decided to split it.
The two chicken meals came with a small container of hummus (choice of hummus or cacik, which basically tzaziki). The Meat Grill came with both. All entrees come with rice and some kind of tomato/onion salad.
For those not in the know about what a 'doner' is (as we all were before it was explained), it is spicy ground meat cooked on a kebab. The Meat Grill came with one, and it was pretty spicy for my gringo mouth. I would not have been able to eat more than the tiny bite I had. The plate also came with some chicken and 4 small beef chunks. For a 15 $ menu item grouped with 8.50 $ items, one would expect a lot of food. Unfortuantely, this wasn't the case. In fact, the chicken entrees that my friends had had more food on the plate (definitely more meat) than the 'meat grill' had at almost twice the price.
That said, the food itself was very good. One of my friends said she couldn't wait to come back. After we had finished our meals, the waitress (slightly inattentive but friendly) brought us complimentary bites of baklava. This was unexpected, and highly appreciated. It was fantastic. It was the best baklava I have ever had, and I have had more than my fair share of baklava over the years. It was light, it was amazing... We begged for some more. If you ever want an angel to take a nap on your tongue, try their baklava. I was unable to keep myself from looking ridiculous by licking the plate. My friends loved it. In fact, I joked with one of them that we could just buy a whole sheet and have that for dinner, along with some milk. Seriously, it was a golden explosion of love.
I know that I will come back here, to eat dinner or lunch, sure (they have weekday lunch specials for 6.50) but definitely to get some of that baklava.
Keeps getting better!. Today i tried Anatolia's spicey chicken over rice, and nibbled from a friend's plate to try a new version of the baba ganoush and some of the falafel on her vegetarian combo platter. Anatolia has a way with baba ganoush that makes it the perfect foil for anything on the plate. The spicey chicken had just enough heat to keep it interesting without spice overload. As usual, Mehmet and Umut make sure you're happy with your meal. Their friendly banter makes you feel like you're visiting at their home table rather than a restaurant. We'll be back to try more menu items and to keep them busy making baba ganoush!
Great food and friendly staff! Had the spicy chicken and it was very tasty. My partner had the vegetarian plate and enjoyed it as well. We will be coming back.
Hits the kebab spot!. This hidden delight of a restaurant is wonderfully delish! in the mood for Turkish food or just something different, don't hesitate to stop here to eat in, take out or have delivered! their food is amazingly fresh, yummy, and reliably delicious. i have had the spicy lamb kebab several times now and it ROCKS! my hubs loves the chicken doner kebab just as much. make this place a regular selection on your "where to eat out in ABQ" list, you'll never be disappointed :)
Best Turkish Food in Albuquerque. Authentic Turkish food is hard to find and luckily we have the best right here in Albuquerque! After a year of living in Turkey, I can tell you that this is the real thing. Mehmet Kokangul's mediterranean menu is wonderful for both carnivores and vegetarians! Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious.
Outstanding, Authentic, Charming. I can vouch for the top quality food served by Mehmet and Umut Kokangul, the proprietors of this fine establishment, having eaten here literally dozens of times. I first went when they were located at the back of a convenience store on Central, but their new location is much more fitting for the excellent meals they prepare.
It's worth a trip, no matter where you live, to try their food and enjoy their company. It's just a fantastic restaurant and experience.
Excellent Food. We have eaten at Anatolia's many times. The food has always been superior and the service friendly. The restaurant location is unassuming and prices for the meals are low. I enjoy my food spicy my favorite meals are the spicy chicken and the recently added spicy salmon. The salmon is perfectly grilled and moist; the portions are generous and come with freshly grilled pita bread, rice, salad and a complementary dessert. When spicy falafel is available I order is as an appetizer with humus.
This place is delicious! I go here just about once a week. The falafel and hummus are always superb! I've a variety of menu items (beef, chicken, vegan) and they're always very good.
Service is quick. The staff is polite. A top-notch joint!
Delicious every time!. No matter what I order (and sometimes I leave it up to the chef and wait staff), it is always fresh and delicious. And the baklava is always even better than I remember. The owners and staff put serious love into the food and service, and you can tell :)

Great Food, Great Price, Great Staff!. I've been eating at Anatolia's since before it was Anatolia's. Chef Mehmet has never created a dish that I haven't liked, and the price has always been more than fair.
We love it. This is fresh authentic Mediterranean cuisine. It's a little tucked away, but you'll be happy you found it. Good prices. You get a complimentary taste of dessert too.

I never knew. Hello All,
As my name describes I eat downtown A LOT!!! I have been going to this place at the very least 4 times a week for the lunch special for almost 2 months. Now I know that you might say well wont you get burnt out...? My answer is surprisingly NO!!! There has not been one single thing that was or is bad that I have gotten from here. Here is where I rate them from top to bottom.
1. The overall quality of the food is top tier for the price.
2. The staff cleans their hands after they touch money. Now why is that important? Just think of all the places that cash and or debit cards touch and then you will understand why this is second on my list.
3. The longest wait I have had even while this place was jam packed was 25 minuets.(yes I timed it). I do always get my food to go.
4. I have yet to have anyone that I have told to try the place say that the food was sub-par and or the service was less than I described.
5.The staff might not seem to be the nicest, but when you talk to them you know that what you see is what you get and most of the time they are professional and respectful and I feel that is missing from a lot of downtown places.
I know this might seem bias but once you try their food you will be hooked.

Wonderful food. I have eaten there at least 3 times this month. The food is to die for!! Fresh, TASTY, and you get so much for your dollar. would recommend it to everyone as I work and live downtown i have try many places. Need a boost ask for the Turkish Coffee, want something sweet get the dessert either the cake and baklava OMG it is wonderful. the only problem I have seen is that one of the staff sits in a booth and plays on his computer rather than help me at least, I was there for over hour and a half and he took my order went back to his computer.and the lovely lady brought me my food , she even check on me to see if i needed or wanted anything else as the gentleman was into his computer and the only time he got up was when i went to pay my check.. AGAIN food worth it. but the service wasn't what i got at lunchtime the week before. The service at dinner time and the floor need much improvement. If you want to go the best time is Lunchtime and on Saturdays.

Turkish delight. Great food at great prices. And you are going there for the ... FOOD. The restaurant is unpretentious but yet pleasant. The proprietors are friendly and hospitable. Being a Turkish restaurant, the plates and flavors are mediterranean/middle-eastern which is a bit different and distinctive from Lebanese, Syrian, Jordanian, Israeli and Egyptian. I had the best tasting falafel sandwich in ABQ here.
This quite literally could be the best restaurant in Albuquerque. The three owners are super friendly and know how to treat the customers ... I loved how everything is fresh... Best desserts too

A friend and I went in for dinner. The portions are very generous, much more than either of us expected. The food is to die for- absolutely amazing and nothing short of delicious. We were catered to throughout our meal. As we finished our meal, we were served a delectable dessert along with hot tea. :) The men who took care of us were very kind and very genuine. It is a very welcoming environment. I will definitely be back. And I highly encourage everyone to try this place. Great find. :)
So good. Talk about a hole in the wall! This place was awesome! Been there a few times now for lunch and dinner and both were great. Awesome sized portion for the price and the staff was super friendly. Perfect for take out too. Love this place.
Fantastic food!!! The only place to eat Turkish food in albuquerque. The only place to enjoy home made dolmas made fresh dailey by Chef Mehmet... Everything is made fresh every day.
Addictive, delicious and healthy. I never ever bother to write reviews for restaurants, but this place is just too good to not to share. The food is simple, flavorful and delicious! Spices are well balanced, prices are unbelievable, and service is outstanding. Chef Mehmet will greet you by name after been a few times. I eat here at least twice a week, have their number saved in my phone :)

Great food, great prices!. Came here for an early dinner and everything was yummy! My husband had the adana kebab platter & I had the beef doner kebab sandwich. The meats were wonderfully spiced, and the salad on his plate had an amazing vinaigrette. All came with delicious, fluffy pita. Less expensive than other mediterranean restaurants in the area. We will definitely be back! I'm looking forward to trying the falafel & hummus!
Came in for a late lunch and it couldn't have been better! The foods were great and service excellent. I had the adana kabob, was excellent with a very refreshing salad and pitas right from the oven. Everything was clearly hand made with care, we will be going again, the price was reasonable as well...
I love mediterranean food!. I actually thought this restaurant was Greek but if you like Greek food then this place is definitely for you. If you like kebab, this place is for you.
The food was so flavorful, I wish I had room to fit more food in. The serving sizes were perfect. The customer service was great even though we showed up a couple minutes before they closed. They gave us a free dessert -- a slice of baklava... just delicious. Can't say enough. Check it out!
Fantastic Food!. We had dinner with friends at this unassuming new restaurant, and came away with lingering flavors of our scrumptious meal. Everything is cooked fresh daily, and made in house. When you taste their appetizers such as hummus, babaganoush (eggplant dish), and their dolma's one realizes what "freshly made" means! They just melt in your mouth! We had their mixed appetizer plate, the Adana Kebab, and baklava. The kebab portions are extremely generous and everything on it is simply delicious. Owned by two brothers who are very friendly, and they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We'll be coming back for sure, but I will also add them to my top "take-out" places.
The food at Anatolia is so good that our server declared confidently that we’d be back within a week. That was three days before my first return visit. I can’t yet state that Anatolia transports me back to England because I have yet to try Anatolia’s version of my beloved doner kebab. During my first two visits the specials of the day were too tempting to pass up. If that trend persists, it may be a while before I get to try the doner kebab.
This place was great! First time in Albuquerque and we were biking around and decided to stop here. The outside is very dated but the food was amazing! Service was great too, they filled my water bottle up which was so nice. I got the vegetarian platter #2 and it was very filling. Falafel was fresh and piping hot. Would definitely recommend.
I got the Shawarma combo, one of my sisters got the lamb shawarma sandwich, and the other got the mashawi combo. The dishws were extremely flavorful and delicious. The fries were also wonderful.
There was an older gentleman who worked there and was so kind. He checked on every table. Although it was my first time, I could tell he got to know his customers well. He even checked on those who picked up takeout orders. It's such a friendly place. Wonderful food, and better service.
My only complaint is that the desserts we got were not the best. They weren't bad, but I don't think it is their strength. We got baklava, khunefe, and warbat and were not too impressed. Despite this, I would give this place 6 starts if I could. It was a wonderful experience.

Love the food, it’s exactly what we wanted. Something refreshing and light. Everything was flavorful, the garlic sauce is amazing. Cannot get enough. The hummus was delicious and fresh. Also from entering the restaurant the first thing I notice is a very fresh clean scent. The tables are spotless. I don’t usually notice this but it’s cleaned above and beyond. Beautiful establishment.
This may be the best Gyro I have had. The gyro plate was so tasty and the falafels were great as well. Definitely did not need to order the falafels with how much food was on the Gyro plate.

Masha Allah great guy. Was closing at 9, bit he made the food without any complaints or anything. Smile says the level of service he has. The owners son, Abdullah was great and true champion.

Best Mediterranean restaurant in Albuquerque, NM. Tried first time and their food was delicious. Especially the Chicken shawarma with Pita bread. The pita bread for shawarma is round, not like the regular shape. Most recently we tried their Shawarma combo. It served with rice, salad and hummus. All prices are reasonable for Halal food. Their lamb shank was average. For dessert item, we tried their Baklava and that was average. But their air condition was not working that day and it was too hot inside the restaurant (Reason for less star). Free parking available. Overall, we love this restaurant and recommended for Halal food lovers.
My first time being here and definitely won't be my last. The food is absolutely amazing. So many flavors, my mouth could not get enough of. I ordered the family Chicken, Beef and Lamb Shawarma. It comes with rice, salad, pita bread and hummus. The price isn't bad for the amount of food you get. Would definitely recommend this place.
We arrived in Albuquerque at 8 PM. They were open (extra star - they were open on July 4th too. We ordered the Veg plate, fish and chips, and Baklava. Cooked up fresh. The Baba ghanoush had a nice smoky flavor.
Got the Santa fe chicken plate.
Basically shawarma with some extra flavors. Was a bit spicy for me.

Excellent chicken shawarma - but the standout for me was the baba ganush eggplant dish with pita. Some of the best I've ever had.
We were traveling from Dallas to Sante Fe so we were looking for good food in the area and glad we stopped here.
Food was so delicious, they make fresh pita bread 🫓 which I have never seen.
