This place rocks. It's consistently good, excellent staff, awesome food. Their premium sushi, kimchi, and teriyaki salmon is to die for. Oh! Make sure you get the dessert tea. I don't believe there is anything bad on this menu. Sakura is definitely one of my favorites.

our regular sushi place was closed on a monday and me and my husband were really craving sushi, so we thought we would try this place and i think this will be our main sushi go to from now on. We ordered 3 rolls, tempura veggies and after that we had tempura ice cream which was delicious. Everything was amazing, the sushi, the service, and the choices you have there to have. Everything tastes fresh, will be going back hopefully soon!

Always delicious and great service!!! We moved from Albuquerque to Tijeras recently but still make the trip down the mountain and across town specifically for Sakura sushi. Best sushi in town by far and servers, management/owners are so friendly and amazing! My husband loves the nigiri and we both especially love any of the "spicy" rolls on the menu. We went outside our "normal" sushi order once and tried the bibimbap and it was also absolutely delicious as well. And don't forget to get the dessert tea at the end of the meal-I wish we could by that stuff from them by the gallon! Highly highly recommend!!

Love this place! Always great service every time I come here. I love their New Mexico roll! Order it every time. Though they have weird hours but it's only a small inconvenience.
My go-to sushi place! Love the salmon avocado tempura roll. Staff is friendly and make you feel like family. Their green tea is strong and not watery. Free miso soup is always a delight to sit down right away to when you're super hungry. Nice decor and ambiance. Service is fast. Good is fresh. Prices are reasonable. I also like that they are closed Sunday's so staff can enjoy their families. Excellent choice for date night night or even dining alone on your way home from work. Must try!

My family and I were spending the week in Albuquerque and my kids wanted sushi so we found Sakura via a quick Google search. The atmosphere was solid, very clean. Our waiter Ryan was extremely good. He took time to talk to my kids and was very attentive and quick with service. The food was some of the better sushi I've had and my kids all enjoyed their sushi rolls as well. All in all I recommend Sakura to anyone on the ABQ area wanting a good sushi restaurant. Being half-Korean, I also loved that they had Korean options on the menu, I didn't order anything off that part of the menu so can't comment on the quality but it was great to see.
You simply cannot put a price on a good dining experience. I enjoyed the casual vibe that the restaurant had - everybody was having a good time. Our cook in particular seemingly went out of his way to give us a good experience, talking to us and playing little games as he cooked. Aside from those in my party, we also ate with a small family who had two kids and they couldn't get enough of our cook who kept making them laugh, and in turn, kept us in our high spirits. I will come back again, because these types of dining experiences don't just leave your stomach full, but leave your heart full as well.
A real gem in the neighborhood! I decided to dine solo last night and had the most lovely experience! I went at 6:30 and all of the tables were takenโฆ a good sign that this was a popular sushi restaurant! I sat at the bar and the service was excellent. I ordered edamame which was served with miso soup. Both were hot and fresh! I had the American Dream roll ๐ it came out perfect! I will be back!!! Great takeout too!!! Packaged nicely! ๐ฑ

I wanted sushi for my birthday dinner and after reading several reviews, we chose to try Sakura. I'm so glad we did. Definitely a 5-star experience in every category. The sushi rolls were the best I've had in Albuquerque.

Because of reading excellent reviews about Sakura, we went to dinner and sat at the Sushi bar. The head sushi chef was friendly, helpful, and served first class sushi.
The fish was incredibly fresh, some flown in from Japan! The menu was varied. The owner of the restaurant came by and introduced herself and was so friendly as well. Great restaurant!
Atmosphere is very nice! Our server was super kind and helpful! Food is amazing! We started with the monkey brain appetizer. That set the stage for the rest of the dinner. It was very delicious and flavorful. If you're looking to try an appetizer don't think twice about the monkey brain. I asked if I should go with the American Dream roll or the Dragon roll, without any hesitation our waitress recommend the American Dream roll. She did not steer me wrong. It was great! My fiancรฉ had teriyaki chicken with fried rice. It too tasted really good. The kids had the California roll and it was very fresh. After dinner they brought out some tea for us. We enjoyed our dinner! We'll come back to try other food for sure. Highly recommend eating here.

What can I say? This is my happy place! Upon entering, we were greeted warmly and led to our table. Our hostess took our drink order and our server was friendly and helpful and not stingy with the smiles. I ordered the chirashizushi with an upgrade to the premium fish, my daughter, a first timer to sushi, ordered the shrimp tempura crunch roll. We also ordered shrimp and vegetable tempura for starters. The tempura arrived, nicely plated and delicious. Our entrees arrived and looked absolutely beautiful. A delightful surprise was the fresh grated wasabi which I thought to be hard to get in the states not to mention Albuquerque! My daughter took one bite and absolutely fell in love with her meal and promptly ordered another roll, mentioning to our server that she loved the crunchy topping. Her second roll arrived but with extra crunchy topping as requested by our server. Our meal was finished with a cup of cinnamon tea, nicely sweetened and served cold! I'm so taken with Sakura and cannot wait to go back!!!
Fast, effective, officiant, amazingly delicious and would go back again ... they have the BEST dragon rolls I've ever had freshest eel I've had, the tempora lobster roll could have been better but still great quality. With dinner they provide miso soup and a after dinner tea that was beyond refreshing ginger spiced tea.
