This place served one of the best breakfast burrito plates Ihave ever had. I know why they've been around so long! Just don't go if you're in a hurry. Sign yourself up on the clipboard by the front counter, which forms the hostess stand. There weren't that many people there after noon on a Sunday but the wait was long, probably 25 minutes. After a bit of a weird sign-up and wait process in the front, then got moved to the vacant bar area, we were finally seated in the train-room (the front). Cool decorations and signs. The service was great and the food was equally good. I can't believe it took us so long to find this gem. The other rooms are cool too. Oddly there's only 1 shared bathroom door for all the customers but doesn't detract from my rating.

I was in a party of six at about 11 am on a Saturday morning. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs (scrambled). My party came came together in a staggered fashion which can make keeping up with drinks, but the servers did a great job!. Our coffees stayed full. My only issue with my meal was that it was almost cold. It definitely set back there for a while, but the flavor was delicious, and I ate it up. I will be back and recommend this restaurant.

Literally the best pancakes we have ever had! We stopped here for breakfast before making our way south for the weekend and enjoyed every part of the experience. Alma was fantastic in helping us chose the best items on the menu and was very attentive. After my wife had her burrito, she tried a bite of my pancakes and was hooked. So much so that we had to order another small order of pancakes to finish out our meal. Next time we are in the area, without a doubt we will be back for breakfast!

This was our first time going here, my mom has been telling me about this place for years. Finally on Sunday we all decided to go after church, there were 9 of us and they got us seated quickly. Our server Samantha was amazing!! Her personality and sense of humor instantly clicked with our family. Had it not been for her the experience would have not been as great. The food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. I will definitely be back to try more of the delicious entrees! Thank you Samantha for the great service and all the laughs!

Super homey and comfortable feeling inside. Awesome food came out hot and fast. Highly recommend the country fried steak and eggs with a side of red and a tortilla! My server was very nice and got me coffee before I could even sit down. I'll be back and I'll be recommending this place to people.

**COMPLETELY UPGRADED** An Albuquerque classic restaurant has been dramatically improved without losing it's connection to a long and fabulous past. The exterior has been redone and the interior has been masterfully redecorated and upgraded while maintaining an 1890's style and feel. Many tables have beautiful overstuffed high back chairs for patron comfort. It's truly beautiful! AND, the K&I is still as comfortable and inviting as it always was. The menu still has all the favorites from the past, the food quality is excellent, tasty Red and Green Chile, serving sizes are bountiful, the service is prompt and the staff is very friendly. Prices are very economical. It had been over five years since my last visit to K&I...I guarantee it won't be that long until my next visit!

The breakfasts and lunches at GRANDMAS K & I DINER are consistently fantastic! This morning for breakfast, I ordered Al’s Iron Skillet (potatoes mixed with bacon, sausage, ham and cheese, topped with chili, 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon), and my wife ordered the Smothered Breakfast Burrito (flour tortilla filled with hash browns, eggs, cheese, bacon, and smothered in green chile). Both were served quickly and tasted delicious – breakfast comfort food! Service was great! Our efficient server Lydia moved around like the Energizer Bunny, always very friendly and smiling. Prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere is cozy and homey with a train motif. Definitely highly recommended.

Saturday was the first time eating here since we saw it on Man vs Food. I put a 4 because I felt like I had a small portion of food for the price. Service was ok. Server hardly checked on us. The atmosphere felt like good. I would try it again.

GREAT food. As a true Southerner (moved here from Georgia) this was the BEST biscuits and gravy I've had in New Mexico. AND they have sweet tea!! Grandma's is a win!!!

I saw this on the show Man vs Food, and brought the whole family to try it. I found that it was good old family cooking, from the enchiladas down to the Half Travis burrito, yes I said half. I wasn't brave enough for the full one, but it was great. The staff was awesome and friendly. Would definitely come back when I'm in town. Thanks guys

From the minute we walked in, the staff was friendly, polite and service was fast. I had the smothered breakfast burrito, with green chiles and it was amazing, my husband had the eggs with biscuits and Gravy, and he gave it a 4 star rating. The restaurant was very clean and we loved the rustic decor. If you happen to be traveling around Albuquerque it is worth the stop!

I went here today on the recommendation of a coworker. I unfortunately could not take the Travis Challenge on 20 minutes notice, so I avoided the Travis altogether and went with Grandma's Biscuits. The meal came with two breakfast biscuits with egg, cheese, and sausage, as well as gravy on the side and hashbrowns. I want sure what to do with the gravy, so I dipped the breakfast sandwiches in there, and it was delicious. The restaurant started out with two strikes against them - they don't have Diet Coke (only Coke Zero), and the breakfast sandwich comes with American cheese. They quickly replaced the Coke Zero with Diet Dr. Pepper (which is completely satisfactory, and very rare for a restaurant to have), and I was able to substitute cheddar cheese on the biscuit, so it ended up as a home run. Also, I've never seen waitresses move so fast, yet not make you feel hurried at all while taking your order. My waitress literally jogged while getting my refill.

Home of the Travis! If you are one of those people who want to try and conquer a huge entree, these guys have one. Cozy spot for some old-time country food. Decent prices, clean, and the service won't be beat. Good gravy!!!
