The best pizza in New Mexico! Straight up the real deal New York pizza ! The bomb for sure! You'll crave it! Its worth every dime! Take it from a New Yorker, its delicious and the owners are genuine! #Queensinthehouse
I'm originally from New York so I know good pizza and this place is excellent. Great service and food every time! While I like the basics, green chile has become my favorite topping.
one of our best ny style places. its been great for years! love that they have soda water on tap too.
The pizza is so great and tasty to the max! My boys n I LOVE to eat there! Great atmosphere and great service.
Best pizza I've had in a long time. I recommend the pepperoni and green chili pizza.
Best pizza place in town. Me n my hubbys place to go for pizza n calzones are huge
My favorite Pizza in ABQ- real NYC style . The "spinach delight" is the best there is with just spinach, garlic , and cheese- no tomato sauce!
Best Pizza in town! Have tried a lot of places this is the best. Think crispy and delicious.
First time trying and WOW!!!! I think we found our Sunday Football pizza place.
The pie was delicious. My order was wrong and they corrected it asap. Definitely returning
One of the best in Albuquerque. Thin, floppy, greasy, salty, yummy, pizza. Just the right amount of flavor, quality ingredients.
Can't say enough good things about this place, about the quality of the food and good service. I have eaten here for years and I decided it was time to do a review. Hands down the best pizza in town. It is a true NY style pizza, the quality of the pizza is great. But don't limit yourself to just the pies, I've had the calzones, salads and desserts all of which are great. I haven't met anyone who dislikes this place. If you haven't gone, do yourself a favor and check it out. Rosario, the owner and his wife are some of the nicest people you'll meet.
Good Real Pizza!!! Ok. By now we all now that pizza is all about the crust and Giovanni's has a great New York style crust and pizza. The spinach pizza is delightful but make your date eat it with you because there is plenty of delicious garlic in it. If you like anchovies try them on the spinach pizza. Mmmmmmm.
Best pizza. Not even close. Got to try it!
Hands down the best pizza in town!! Have tried pizza all over ABQ. Nothing really ever impressed us until we ate here!! We love the simple mushroom pizza. It's so flavorful, moist with a thin crust. The seasoning is to die for! Just wish the location was better. It's in a neighborhood that's a bit seedy and easy to miss if you're not familiar with it. It would be great if they had more locations.
Great pizza....dang it, so far away from me!. I recently heard about Giovanni's and have been wanting to try it. I drove from Downtown ABQ to pick up my pie and drove it home to Placitas. WOW! It was really good, even after a 30 minute commute home. Too bad (or maybe I should be thankful) this place is so far from me. I would eat here more often. One of the best pie's I've ever had in ABQ!
Wicked good pizza! We relocated to Albuquerque from Bedford MA. Growing up on the East coast I have been spoiled by amazing pizza. I was craving pizza similar to what I grew up eating. Big fat slices of pie that you fold in half to eat. Giovanni's delivered the taste of home I was craving. From the crust to the sauce, this is authentic New York style pizza!
As for the neighborhood...I've never had a problem. It's not like you're buying a house there! You're eating wicked good pizza!
Only NYC style pizza in town. Ingredients are rich and flavorful. Bottom line this place has been open in the same sketch location since 1980 for a reason...it's the best. Try a pepperoni to compare and you will see why other pizza makers in town buy their dough we drive 30min from cottonwood area once a month to eat it.
Freakin Delicious Pies. Out of a small pizzeria located in the ghetto that is Albuquerque. Some of the best pizza I have ever tasted. I also enjoy the calzone and tiramisu. But ballers on budgets beware....
Giovanni's is way too expensive for ABQ. A meal between 1 friend and myself (a pie, 2 coke, 2 tiramisu) normally comes with the hefty price tag of $50+. Quite the price for a damn good meal.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here! The service and food were excellent! I can't believe they're going on 25 years in business, and we only just found them, but so glad we did; better late than never! We will DEFINITELY be back, and letting everyone we know about this great place.
THE BEST pizza in New Mexico. Period. Seriously! Go, eat and enjoy. And oh, by the way. Rosario, Dana and the whole crew are the best!
Great Food. I went in having read all the reviews...We only received top-notch service and excellent food! Additional toppings are a little pricey, but generous. I can't wait to go back and try another great meal!
Closest to NY Style Pizza in ABQ. This is actually the closest to New York Style pizza I've had in this city. Real mozzarella is super-important which is why I keep going back. The place also smells like a real pizzaria which I enjoy.
Good Pizza COSTS MONEY!. Five dollar pizza is ruining the pizza industry and running places like Giovanni's out of business. This place uses real cheese and real ingredients which all cost money resulting in a little higher cost than one would expect for pizza. If you want $5 garbage pizza go to one of those places and support corporate chains instead of local business.
Last wish pizza....... If I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to bake me a Giovanni's Pizza and I hope to hork it down before I enter the pearly gates! A coworker said it best Giovanni's pizza in Albuquerque and Giordano's pizza in Chicago, nuf said!!
Good Pizza, High prices. I really like the pizza here, but last time we ordered out just 1 large pizza with 3 toppings and 1 large salad it was 38$!!!
I just can't go back!

One of my top three pizzerias in ABQ. I'm from South Carolina and they only have the corporate own pizza (like Pizza hut and etc...) which I totally hate ordering pizza from. Giovanni's has changed my life.
Calzones are great!!. We've been going to Giovanni's for many years for the calzones. They use ricotta inside instead of a lot of mozzarella cheese, which I've encountered many other places. They are each enough for two meals; and very tasty marinara for dipping. Don't know about the son taking over as another poster said-I talked to the mother there recently.
First visit. Bought 13 pizzas for youth choir. Great pizza. Friendly service. Finished right on time. A must if u want pizza while in Albuquerque.
Not bad. I only get a pepperoni pizza when I order from Giovanni's. Good pepperoni, great crust, great cheese. Far too much grease for me, but when I'm in the area, this is what I eat.
Loved It. Got to say, this is the best pizza in Albuquerque. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Just wish they had a location on the westside.
Tastes like home.. Most authentic NY Style pizza I have found in Albuquerque so far.
So far, so good. As a total pizza junkie, I would say that this place hits the mark for the closest thing I could call NY pizza. Although there is no Baker's Pride oven in sight (conveyor belt oven instead) the pizza was not over cheesed, or undercooked like the majority of places in ABQ I have tried. The atmosphere is straight out of a Queens neighborhood and the staff is as friendly as can be.

New York style pizza in New Mexico. Not the best New York style pizza - but pretty close - and to find it in New Mexico was great
MRS.. The absolute best pizza ever eaten. we had a simple pep/mushrooms and green chili. wow! the crust was thin and crisp but yet soft enough to fold. the flavor of the sauce and cheese blended together perfectly. the atmosphere is simple which is comfortable. pizza a person continues to crave.
Awesome hole in the wall place, try the Napoli pizza and order a canoli for dessert, owners are super friendly make sure you meet them (Risario & Diana)
Frequent and lengthy business trips to California in 1997 nearly ruined me forever for one of America’s essential food groups–pizza. Despite an open mind and willingness to try anything, the heretical toppings adorning Golden State pizzas quelled what I h
Never been to New York but if this is what their pizza tastes like then this is delicious. Unique and not overly expensive. Area is a little iffy but I didn't have any issues. Highly recommend if you're around!
Delicious homemade pizza with amazing taste! The staff was so authentic and genuine, and the store was cozy and clean. The dough was fresh, and even the desert was delicious.
Friendly staff and great tasting pizza! Coming from the east coast, not a single place compared (sorry, not sorry it’s the truth). A good majority of places in New Mexico we’ve tried have been bland and tasteless, but NOT Giovanni’s. Their ingredients are very savory and the slices are thin and can be folded. We agree that they have the flavor and taste consistency of back home Jersey, Philly & NY style, and for that I am grateful. I would say it’s on the expensive side and wish they had promo coupons, but we haven’t seen any… and sometimes the crust is burnt, but that’s minor. Every order has been easy and consistent other than that. So thankful this place is here, thank you Giovanni’s!
Anchovie Pizza ! Thin Crust 15 inch. Another person (and co-worker) who put in a Review for this place, was a influence about coming here. Haven't been to GIOVANNI'S in several years. Enjoyed the pizza. Didn't know they had Anchovies til I saw the pic of the signage of what one can order. Oh yeah, don't forget the Cannoli !
Amazing, authentic, NYC-style pizza. They even do slices, like in NYC. The crust is super thin and crispy, perfect for folding. I also had their Italian burrito and it was amazing.
The food is Amazing our first time eating here! The gentleman who took our order and cashed us out was the best Thank you so much!!!
the atmosphere is a perfect mix of nostalgia and New York style. the pizza is absolutely delicious with an array of sizes and toppings to choose from. the staff is also extremely friendly. support local!
The place was great. The waitress was super friendly and guess what.. she even made our pizza! She also served us and made to order my canoli. The pizza was delicious and served hot! Great place to go for some fresh hot pizza with the fam. I recommend!
Best Pizza I’ve had since living in Italy. This place is a gemstone. Their crust and ingredients, especially the oil taste so fresh, it’s the closest to authentic I’ve had. I always get the calzone which is absolutely amazing. The only drawback is you have to pay extra for sauce. Most places give you at least one side. I refuse to eat a calzone any other place in town. The ricotta they use is amazing!
I’ve also tried their cannolis. It’s hit or miss on who makes them on if they’re a deal or not. I’ve had them when the shell is hollow and they just put a spoon of filling on each side with chips and dust the top or I’ve gotten lucky and had them filled. When they are filled, they are a delightful treat and I’d highly recommend them.
Give this place a try. Hands down best pizza place in Albuquerque

A Large Pepperoni and Green Chili with easy sauce and well done!!!
Not once have they messed up my order... I've known these people for years... would of totally given 15 stars but them dam homeless people bombard ur car as soon as you get down asking for money. And I would also like to say that we miss
Mr. Zitto very much...
I went for the first time today since they reopened. I had 4 large pizzas and a salad. But when I got there, they said they were out of lettuce so no Salas. I asked if I could get two orders of breadsticks instead and the owner offered to give them to me no cost! All of us at my clinic are so happy you all are open again and the food is still amazing and they take great care of their customers!
We got pizza for takeout. Highly recommend. The large is very large, we got 4 larges to feed 8 people and had leftover for two days. The veggie combo is delightful with the green chiles. Order took 25 minutes and staff was friendly at pick up.
Good pizza, a little light on the crust. We got the New Mexico style with no onions. The pizza was extremely tasty had a good mix of flavor and spice with the green chili. Again the only issue was the crust it was a little burnt.
Excellent pizza. It's located quite a ways across town so I don't get there often but it has been our traditional Superbowl Sunday dinner for well over a decade. This year, in addition to our usual three pizzas, we ordered eggplant parmigiana and an Italian burrito. Al were delicious.
Pizza made fresh with what I consider a thinner crust, not paper thin. Perfect for keeping it's shape to eat when hot or as leftovers when you bought more than just a slice.
Amazing pizza!!! It's great to see Giovanni's reopen its doors for all of us to keep enjoying their pizza and continue Rosario's legacy. The staff were amazing and very welcoming to everyone. Pizza tastes just as amazing as the first time I ever tried it! Best pizza in Albuquerque!!!❤️🍕❤️🍕❤️🍕
