Great great great food!! The Chili Rellenos are fabulous, red or green, and this is the first time I've seen Brisket enchiladas! The service is wonderful, Señor Rudy Ortega, the owner, came out to meet us and even brought us a complimentary Relleno, such a friendly and wonderful man! This is my new must-go place when I'm in Albuquerque! Mucho gusto!!!!
The best New Mexican restaurant in the state! We have been going for years and will continue to for many more. Consistent, fresh and delicious food served by attentive, wonderful staff. With a great atmosphere and wonderful owners, we always leave with empty plates, full bellies and huge smiles.
Love this place! Never have to remember what to order, Debbie is the best server in town and Rudy is a great owner that makes a point to greet his clientele. Always take my family and friends from New York here to enjoy the NM tradition of red and green!
Just recently became aware of corn intolerance, the staff was so helpful in feeding me! Green has corn... The honey on the table is real NM honey. The food is always great.
I have always gotten good food and service. Rudy Ortega and his lovely wife always welcomes me and my friends when I go. I try to eat here at least one time whenever I’m in Albuquerque visiting.

Visiting from Los Angeles and was driving by, so decided to stop. What a treat! Located in a strip mall, but once inside so warm and inviting and made us feel very welcome. My husband and I decided to split the stuffed sopapilla carne adovada plate. It was so delicious that we ordered some of the red chile to take home with us. Located on Wyoming Blvd, not far from Kirkland AFB. Will be back.
The best New Mexican Food in New Mexico! Hands down! The best Sopapillas you can find! It really does not get any better than Ortega's!!!!

The food was delicious . The service was great and prices where decent. You get a lot of food for your money and it tastes wonderful. I got a lunch combo, which they serve between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. the sweet tea is delicious as well as the stuffed jalapenos. They serve chips and salsa when u first get there. Definitely stop by and get some food. Our waitor Brian was great.
The food was excellent! I had the Burrito Supreme with Carne Adovarda, and it was delicious! Plenty of food, and the wait staff was super friendly! Debra went out of her way to help, and had the kitchen prepare a breakfast burrito for my early morning flight the next day. I highly recommend!
My wife really enjoyed her meal, she especially liked the wheat sopapilla. Good neighborhood locally owned restaurant.

Not a whole lot of parking, the waiter wasn’t exactly the friendliest and I think I was charged extra for using my check card. With that being said the food was amazing.
So very sad to hear Ortega's will be closing for good. My family and I have been eating here since they opened, 30+ years ago! This was my Dad's favorite place to eat, he loved the lunch specials. The food is authentic, service excellent & no one can beat the Sopapillas! The stuffed Sopapillas are my favorite...all the dishes are yummy and you get more than enough food. Will miss talking with Rudy, the owner, always smiling and attentive. Will be ordering as much take out meals as we can before you all close! Good luck to everyone ☺️
I have been coming here regularly for at least a decade. Best salsa in town in my opinion, fast and great service, small environment that is cozy. Along with very traditional New Mexican food. Never had an issue. Very good prices for the portions and quality. Not usually a long wait because they crank people out of here. Ask for Brian, he's fantastic.
At first glance, we were a little unsure of this place. We’d read several unfavorable reviews, and the host seemed rather abrupt when he seated us. But once we started chatting with him (he turned out to be our server as well), he was actually a really nice guy and a very attentive waiter. The food arrived very quickly and was delicious. It was my son’s 22nd birthday, and when they learned this, they brought him a free dessert and we all sang happy birthday. In all, a great experience. We will be back!
We visited Ortega's for the first time tonight and we were very impressed! The service was fantastic, everyone was so friendly and helpful! Our food came out really fast, and was delicious (best tamale I have had in a while!). We will definitely be returning very soon!

Times if I was doing okay or if I needed anything and I felt a sense of homeage when The gentleman called me by my name after he ran my credit card. I will definitely go back. The GC chicken enchiladas were great and I even liked the rice and beans. Just the way I like everything.
I've eaten at this place with my friends and family for the past 4 years. It instantly became my favorite restaurant in all of Albuquerque. I'm deeply saddened to see it go. They have the best green chile chicken enchiladas in town. I won't ever forget the wonderful memories I share with those I have dinner with and the food we all bonded over.
Outstanding birthday lunch! I was lucky to have friends join me for lunch today at Ortega's. The food was delicious and my free birthday Natillas was amazing! I even got a candle to blow out! The service is wonderful, and the layout of the restaurant is very conducive to conversation, which is a huge plus in my opinion.
This restaurant is everything I want in a New Mexican place. The complimentary chips and salsa are better than most. The food is amazing and they have a perfect menu with everything one could want to order or try (there are still a couple things I really want to order but haven't managed to get away from some old favorites long enough to do so...). The waiting staff are also fantastic and some of the nicest people I have ever met.
I love Fijitas and I'm always looking for a good place. I didn't find a good place but a great place. They truly have the best Chicken ones I've ever tasted and for an even better price.
I recommend stopping in and trying them for yourself...you won't be disappointed.
Love this place. Cant stop eating here. Ask for the Scott special its not on the menu but with enough orders we can change that:) it's a bowl of beans poured into a Navajo taco with fajita veggies, lettuce and tomato,papas,avocado slices, red or green Chile and comes with whole wheat sopapillas. Less than $8

Always great and friendly service. This is our neighborhood go to. Not too spicy hot and always perfectly made food. Sometimes I like my chile extra spicy. Also they do not have handicap friendly bathrooms. Those are the only reasons I didn't give 5 stars.
Was one of the many final delivery orders from this amazing restaurant. The food is amazing and well priced. It is sad to see a hometown favorite and a local staple shutter their doors due to Covid19. Wish they would reconsider their decision to close.
