OPA!!! Finally, I have found a Greek home here in Albuquerque. Far and away the best Greek food I've had here in town and some of the best I've had ever. The wait staff was not just cordial, but extremely friendly. The owner came over to see how we liked our meal and to introduce himself. We were treated like long time customers on our first visit. I seriously cannot recommend this restaurant enough.

Authentic flavor and great service! Had the pork souvlaki with a double Greek salad instead of rice or potatoes to keep it low carb. Delicious!!!

Best veggie dolmas ever! Great pita bread too! The hummus is almost as good as TJs Mediterranean. The Greek salad dressing was tasty. The SW Gyros & regular Gyros are delish!

Lunch for two was $17.04. Got water with lemon-refilled as we ate. Partner and I each had a Gyro, with Tzatziki on the side and extra Tzatziki for each gyro. The counter person did have some difficulty with our order. So, let me say: I love a good gyro. I ask for Tzatziki on the side because it melts on a hot gyro. I always request an extra serving of Tzatziki. The Tzatziki is almost as important as the meat! That said, the gyro was fantastic!
We went to Zorba's right after they opened-weren't impressed. Now, so happy! My own Tzatziki is better but I don't have a spit to grill meat. Wonderful Gyro. Spot on service. Loved it!!!

I've been here a few times for the gyros. I don't like that they over dress them with the Greek yogurt. It is overpriced in my opinion. It's a nice place just the best Greek food I've had.

Enjoyable. We brought friends from out of town here. This little place has a fun atmosphere and excellent food. As far as I'm concerned its the best greek in town. I wish they were open on Sundays.

We ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce, gyro sandwich plate and spanikopita dinner plate all of which were so good. My gyro was great! The pita bread was so soft and fresh too. I totally recommend this place.

Ignore Bad Reviews - One of the Best Places in Town!. My fiance and I LOVE this place. We've always had consistantly great service and fantastic food. We go all the time and at different times of the day. The wait staff and owners are all really nice. If you go early in the day, they often bring you a complimentary appetizer (it's just pita bread and tzatziki, but delish!). Cannot rave enough about it. The food is amazing and I always feel like we've gotten a great value!

Great food, terrible service. Only the fantastic quality of the food can redeem such poor service. Everything we've ordered has been delicious: gyros, hummus, dolmates, some sort of garlic/potato dip.... I could go on and on. Delicious and great portion sizes.

Downside: terrible service. Don't expect your drink to get refilled often, if at all; I have on several occasions had to get up and grab an unattended pitcher of water to take back to my table. Don't expect to see your receipt after you order; we've been overcharged once and didn't know until the waiter brought out the wrong food; it was eventually sorted out and we were given a refund, but the woman didn't know how to refund my husband's credit card so we had an awkward handful of change to deal with. Don't expect to get your food quickly; we've already waited over an hour for our food and seen other diners demand their money back and leave after no service for so long.

Despite this terrible terrible service, though, we keep going back because the food is just that good. Plus, as terrible as the service is, the waitstaff is constantly apologetic about the wait and does eventually resolve all issues. I just wish they'd hire and extra cook and 2-3 more waiters/waitresses for an overall better dining experience.

The gyro was amazing. It doesn't come with sides because it huge. There's plenty of meat stuffed into the wrap, you don't need much else. Delicious! (under $10 for dinner)

Had lunch.... Was in the neighborhood and had been meaning to give this place a try. Had the lunch special, a gyro with fries. Quite a value at about $7, and one can opt for a side salad instead of fries. A very large portion of freshly sliced gyro meat compared to some of the other popular greek restaurants around town. I like mine a touch more crispy, but this is only a nit pick. Fresh sliced red onion and tomato with a tasty tzatziki sauce and a nicely warmed pita finished the sandwich. Fries were crisp and nicely seasoned. Tlos lunch hit the spot. I am looking forward to trying out more of their dishes. Counter service is a little unusual I feel considering most of their dishes are $10-20, but again this is minor.

Completely Satisfied!. I read through all these reviews before going to Zorba's last night. My only conclusion could be that the negative posts are from people who really dont know "good authentic Greek Food" or they don't understand Greek people. Having been raised on Greek food, I can tell you the food we had last night, was terrific. I agree, the ordering system is not good and could cause alot of confusion and delays. They need to change that for sure. But the food we all have was terrific, and delicious. We were brought a complimentary appetizer of Pita and Tzadsikis and it was also wonderful and we polished it off with Galato Boureko (greek Custard)- also wonderful.
For those who state the loud and rude behavior? Do you really know any Greeks? They are all loud! LOL! Watch "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". The food was as good if not better than Yanni's and alot less in price. Just my humble opinion.

Please ignore old bad reviews!!. This place is the best! We showed up at closing time and the owner insisted we go in and eat. We were going to leave out of courtesy. Showing up at closing time is just not cool. But, they wouldn't have had it any other way and we were thrilled to have such delightful service. Not to mention the food!! OMG the food is amazing. It's as authentic as you can get. This coming straight from a Grecian mouth backed up by a visiting family. I have never had a bad dish and I have tried over 8 entree's and specials. Do yourself a favor and eat here! You will be so glad that you did.

Zorba's. Went there for the first time last week, the ordering style for odd, but don't let it get to you. I got the gyros; good price, good fries, good gyros. The meat was good, the tzatziki was probably my favorite that I've had (though I may not be the best judge of tzatziki, as I don't always like the stuff), and the pita bread was fabulous. Their falafels were probably the worst falafel I've ever eaten, but that just mean don't get the falafel! I'm going back there in a few minutes for lunch. I would recommend at least trying it.

Yum! I've been to Zorba's a few times and decided to finally write about it. My boyfriend and I went for a quick dinner and ordered the horatiki salad, small Greek salad, and dolmathes. The dressing is delicious and I wish I could've eaten few orders of dolmathes, they are probably now my favorite in Albuquerque. I think Zorba's is a great restaurant for someone looking for a casual and friendly atmosphere, as well as truly tasty and healthy food. I felt like my salad was very fresh and I felt healthy after eating it, even though it was such a large salad (for a small!). Yum @ Zorba's. Yum!

My only problem with Zorba's is that it's so far away! I was so glad to track down the family that previously owned Olympia Cafe and to discover that they opened a new restaurant. I've only been there twice, but it's been delicious both times.

Good food, very personable staff. We just held a company lunch at Zorba's and were very pleased with the food and the service. I am not much of a connoisseur when it comes to Greek food, but I enjoyed everything we ordered (pitas, hummus, caviar, lamb, beef, etc). There was nothing that distracted from our dining experience. The staff were friendly, courteous and accommodating.

Happy customers. First impressions are lasting! First, walked in and were greeted by friendly staff that was prompt in taking our order. Second, received a number and chose whichever empty table we wanted. Third, drinks arrived right after arriving at comfortable our table. Table, let me tell you about the table! Clean, the whole restaurant is impeccably clean and very warm in its surrounding décor. Fourth, received our order, "the Gyro sandwich", one with fries and one with a salad. I have loved Gyros for the past 35 years of my life and these are definitely worthy of writing home about. Fifth drinks, free refills on select fountain drinks which they are not stingy about on refills. I am looking forward to my next visit and will try something new. The Schmidt's

Mmmm freindly and good1. We (My son from San Diego, my mom/stepdad, and his mom) went to Zorba's Greek. The waitress was humorous and freindly, the service was fast, and my plate was delicious. I ordered the Alexis and the Moussakka was tender and tasty. The dolmathes were good too. The lamb was a titch dry, but good. They gave us a free appetizer and dessert. Weird, though, how they make you pay prior to eating. Whassup widdat???However, it was delicious and we had fast refills on the good raspberry tea!:)

SO GOOD!. Olympia Cafe has been one of my favorite restaurants in town for years, so I was very excited when I discovered that the owner was opening a new place right next to my work. I have eaten at Zorba's several times now, and I must say that it is absolutely amazing. The food is so good! My favorite thing on the menu is the sausage sandwich. I believe it is called something like "Loukainika." OMG! This sandwich is the best thing I have ever tasted in my life! The Gyros are also great, and the Dolmathes are out of this world!

Fabulously GREEK!!. My husband and I recently made a trip to Zorba's, and we are pleased to say that this place rocks and is definitely "worth supporting".
After having read some unsavory reviews (by the apparently insecure and overindulged) we decided to see for ourselves just how good Zorba's is. The food was wonderfully authentic and flavorful..made from scratch on the premises by REAL Greeks. (Trust me, I know the difference.) The moussaka was the best I've every had! The home-made salad dressing was zingy and offered on every table (I guess some folks don't get that you have to shake an oil-based dressing, first....)
The atmosphere was alive with music, voices, and the sounds of the kitchen staff in constant production. After all, if one is looking for silence, they best visit their local library. Our server, Celine (sp), was quite personable and efficient. We felt welcomed and comfortable. Needless to say, we will be back.
So, If you're looking for great Greek food, I'd say Zorba's is the place. If you're looking to fill that little self-importance void, get therapy instead.

Olympia Cafe in the NE Heights--YAY!. Went to Zorba's despite reading negative reviews. Should have known better than to trust someone who eats at McDonald's--that reviewer probably doesn't know what real food tastes like.

Zorba's is owned and run by the family who used to own Olympia Cafe on Nob Hill. The food here at the new location is a little more expensive, but it seems a little better too. And the setting is very pleasant, with an outdoor seating area. The spanakopita was creamy and delicious, dolmas were particularly good and the moussaka was good as always. The fresh made pita bread is always great.

Hooray that we now have Zorba's in the NE Heights, close to home.

On a recent visit to Zorba’s I was in the mood for a gyro (yee-row). Close your eyes and imagine this- lots of onions and tomatoes nestled among seasoned, thin slices of grilled lamb and beef wrapped up warmly in a pillowy pita topped with a cool, creamy tzatziki sauce (add a splash of hot sauce if you like). Now doesn’t that sound delicious?! After taking a bite of the gyro, I looked over at Zorba’s large wall photo mural of a Greek town similar to the photo above of Santorini and I saw myself transported to that place where my friends and I are sitting right by the cobalt blue waters of Greece…mmmm, ooooo, yum, ahhh….heaven…

When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by who I’m assuming is the owner. Extremely nice lady who helped me and gave excellent recommendations. I had the regular gyro, my date had the kabob plate, we shared a pita appetizer, and had baclava and tiramisu. Everything we had was amazing. I left way too full. The only regret I have is not taking pictures of this delicious meal. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely be back.

I LOVE this place and have for a long time just now getting around to reviewing. The food is always good and quick! The gyro with the Greek potatoes is one of my favorite lunch with the extra greek sauce 15/10 the lady who I am assuming is the owner is always friendly. You really can’t get better greek food in Albuquerque. Yannis and the other greek place in nob hill do not compare!

I've been here a few times, always trying something different. Ordered and got my falafel sandwich within about 10 minutes of being there. It's not the best I've ever had, but I've definitely had worse in ABQ. I wish the falafel pieces were a bit bigger as they kind of drown in the pita. The sauce is amazing though! All around, it might be on the blander side, but I think it's worth trying if you've never been. The atmosphere is nice and can be a bit loud at times, but overall, it is mostly calming. All the staff are incredibly friendly so I don't understand the negative reviews about service. I think people expect full table service, but it's very cleary not *that* kind of restaurant. They may seem a bit understaffed, but that doesn't take away from the experience.

Wonderful food and people. We had a gyro which was amazing, a half Grecian chicken which was similarly delicious, and the chicken souvlaki. Everything was perfect. The family that runs the place is kind and considerate, and it was also very reasonably priced. Can't wait to eat here again.

I just enjoyed a lovely lunch with my dear friend Sandy. She had the spanakopita plate, I had the southwest chicken gyros with fries and a side of spanakopita. We also had dessert, tiramisu and baklava cheesecake. The food was delicious, the atmosphere is lovely, the service was fantastic, but the absolute best was the owner who visited with us and enhanced our experience! She is phenomenal; we loved her! Enjoy the wedding and thank you for a wonderful lunch experience.

Delicious. Delicious. Delicious! One of the best places I stopped in while in Albuquerque. I love a good Gyro and this one was it. The meat has good flavor and the gyro has thin sliced tomato and onion on it which I really liked. I don’t care for tzatziki so I can’t really say anything about it, but I did hear it was made in store from scratch. I also ordered the hummus. It also is scratch made and amazing! It came with soft, warm pita slices. It was a plain style, but it had some seasoning and an olive on top. Not short on flavor though! I believe one of the owners is who helped me at the counter and my server was attentive. I ate outside on their patio and it was quiet and clean. The building is in a strip mall, kind of unassuming but the restaurant itself was nice and food was great. Too bad I live on the other side of the country or I’d make this a regular place! I’ll have to remember for the future! If you find yourself wanting something casual but different, try Zorba’s!

My partner and I love Zorba's. We go there as often as possible. The food and service are always excellent. We've gone for lunch and dinner. We've never experienced any kind of prejudice despite being an interracial gay couple. In fact, the owner greets us and remembers us every time. We love the ambience. Our only disappointing experience with Zorba's is finding them closed. Highly recommended!

Been coming to this restaurant for a few years now and the food is just as good now as when I first entered. A few of the servers have changed, but the restaurant has pretty much stayed the same, run by the same people. I definitely like their current server and they always accommodate my special order requests. It's usually simple like double salad with no cheese and extra olives, but they are always very good at getting the order right. They are even willing to give me mustard with my gyro now, even though everybody thinks I'm strange for wanting it lol

We have been going there since they were the Olympia by the University. We have formed a friendship with the owners into the third generation We have never been disappointed with food or service! My favorite is the Chicken salad and my husband always orders the Zorba platter. A must try dessert is the Galaktoboureko.
