Richie B's sells classic New York style pizza with enough fresh mozzarella cheese to give someone a heart attack! The crust is nearly perfect! It isn't soft and doughy, yet not super crispy either. It's browned to the right level and has enough bite to it. The pizza sauce both smells and tastes great too!
So why give the pizza 4 stars?
I am someone who reads the reviews before going to a new restaurant. One of the most common complaints I have read about this place is that they drown the pizza in oregano.
I originally thought: that could be a great thing, especially since the majority of "good" pizza in ABQ is BLAND! Dion's comes to mind as a good example of one. After all, a good NY style cheese pizza should be big, flavorful, and NOT for the bland of mouth!
After eating that pizza however, I'd have to agree with that complaint. There is SO MUCH oregano in the pizza that it is drowning out the notes of garlic and shallot that, in my opinion, also makes an excellent pizza. Don't get me wrong. Oregano is an essential ingredient for a good pizza, but not at the expense of other important flavor components.
If they cut down the oregano in half, and put in a little more garlic into the sauce, then this pizza could be legendary and truly something special. Instead, it misses that mark.

This place is genuinely fun and delicious. Definitely worth going! We were welcomed and told a bit about the menu because it was our first time. I got a half salad, it was fresh veggies and cheese. The pizza has the perfect ratios, the sauce was tasty, and the green chile was quality. My husband got the monster slice which is comically large. It’s definitely something you could share. It’s about the size of a medium to large regular pizza. HIGHLY recommend getting a monster slice at least once. The staff was so kind and helpful, thank you!
We each ordered a monster pizza slice with additional toppings and it was such a fun experience. (Picture with a dollar bill for size reference posted) +The owner was so kind and came out to teach us how to throw a pizza and shared his restaurant journey. We felt very welcome and I look forward to coming here again. Environment was clean and service was good. Highly recommend coming here with friends :)
I come and grab a slice every other week or so. The pizza is just fantastic. But more than that, the service is always exceptional. The place is owned by Chuck, who absolutely loves his business. Eat at Richie's, have great food, and support local business! Also, I must say, the largest pizzas I've seen in town! I couldn't even fit it in my fridge!
We came here on a recommendation from a fellow foodie. We initially thought just the novelty of the monster slice would be worth coming for, it was and so much more! Staff was friendly, food came quick, and pizza was delicious! The fries are a thinner cut with this special seasoning, super crispy, really nice! We live on the east coast but will certainly make this a place to visit every time we come!
This might be my new favorite pizza place! The supreme pizza is exceptional, with pre-sauteed toppings. My wife is allergic to onions, and she was able to eat it. All the pizzas have an addictive spicing. I hope they start serving wings.
I recently moved to this area, so I tried this place for the first time. I had a slice of pepperoni with Hatch green chile and shared a side of onion rings with my friend. All the food was great! The staff was very friendly. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. The restaurant was about to close so there were not many people eating, but the staff did not rush us out or anything. I highly recommend this pizza place.

I came there today after I heard about the 2 foot long pizza. I came in with my boyfriend around noon. It came out to $13 and it took about 5-10 mins which is exceptionally fast for the pizza. It definitely was filling for the two of us. The actual pizza was huge and they cut it in two for us. The ingredients are great and flavorful. I got a sausage pizza. The crust was baked to pretty much perfection with just enough cheese to stretch it out, and they were also very generous with the toppings. The sauce was a perfect amount as well. We even got free ranch. So as far as the pizza it's definitely a place you want to stop by at if your reading for a great bite to eat. The store cleanliness in the dining room was disappointingly sub-par. We along with everyone else who came in had to wipe off their own seats and tables. The bathroom is well kept and the overall atmosphere the day I came was quiet and enjoyable. I will return again whenever I'm craving New York style pizza.

Never been here before but heard good things. Had a special request (quarter cheese-only of 25" pizza for our little one who doesn't like toppings) but was told they can only do half. Disappointing but understandable. Pizza had good flavor and of course was HUGE so the kids loved it. One kid mentioned it was "spicy" but think she was referring to the spices used. Still ate it all. Overall very happy. Staff was nice.

Stepped inside Richie B’s… Home of the Monster slice Pizza & Subs restaurant and to my heavenly delight this slice of monster cheese, pepperoni and green chili was a slice of perfection at it’s most delicious I could have hoped for. The first hot and crunchy thin crust bite to the very last bite I was transported to taste buds satisfaction.
You guy’s knocked it wayyyy outa the park and over the Sandia Mountains.

I've gone and go to eat and try ALL pizza places. Throughout the US too. And great ,friendly staff, atmosphere,pizza! Richie B's is by far 1 of the best ,if not best so far! And The Owner was just absolutely friendly,funny, and just great person overall...... See you again soon!!!!!!
Richie Bs is awesome, they got great pizza and sandwiches. Get the Italian you'll like it. They usually have seasonal stuff too.
I went to Richie B's Pizza because I had a craving for New York Pizza and didn't know where to find any in this city. A quick search on Yelp pointed me straight to them and boy am I glad I went. I got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of veggie. They were way larger than I was expecting, taking up two plates per slice. The crust was some of the most delicious crust I've ever had. I would eat it on its own as breadsticks with marinara or garlic sauce and be completely satisfied. The pepperoni was the most flavorful, zesty pepperoni I have ever had. My experience was amazing and delicious. I will definitely be going there again. Their frequent buyer card was a plus as well. Get 10 slices of pizza or 10 submarines or 10 pies and get the eleventh one free. Sounds like a good deal to me.
I ran into this via Facebook and decided to try it out. I order the meatballs subs and cheesecake. Unfortunately I got Italian subs and cheesecake by mistake. The Italian subs were really good and so was the cheesecake. I felt the cheesecake missed some sort of strawberry syrup to make it perfect but was still delicious. The reason why I still provide 5 star was due to the food was great and even tho was mistaken they made it right for me for my next visit. I recommend the cheesecake and recommend the Italian sub. I will keep you posted on the meatball review possibly tomorrow. They seem like a busy establishment, so I recommend.
Update: as promised I went back and they delivered on the promised to make my order right and gave me discount. Must say the meatball sub was fantastic and satisfying! I really enjoyed it and would order many times over. Also had the opportunity to have a slice of pizza, which I also enjoyed and the size was amazing
