We went for the first time today.
I ordered the snow pea shrimp and my husband got the crispy duck daily special.
The food was excellent. The duck was moist and beautifully seasoned.
Everything on the menu looked delicious and the prices were fair.
We will most certainly be back!
Food was great and delicious.... Worker was friendly and helpful.... I enjoyed the egg drop soup... I definitely recommend 10 out of 10 ...
Felt for some seafood soup that killed the vive they should name it egg and fake crab soup or something like that, it was bad for a floridian BUT they really pulled their weight with crispy duck and cabbage 🤩 and the seafood and fried rice dish 🦐🦐🦐 the last I highly recommend..
Updated 090723 Roasted duck still excellent and my new favorite sesame chicken spicy 😋 👌
Good little spot. Cozy, clean, and nicely decorated dining room. Friendly service. I got take out. I was a little disappointed that their Mongolian beef was just spicy beef with vegetable with a clear sauce. It was good, but not Mongolian beef (fried beef with a soy sauce based sauce). Also they put the sweet and sour chicken in the sauce so it was soggy by the time it got home, instead of a dipping sauce on the side which is how it's done at every other Chinese restaurant.
Solid choice for standard Chinese food!
This was our last night in Albuquerque and the girls wanted Chinese so we wound up here. They had indoor dining, served wine and didn’t close at 7:00 like many restaurants around them so I was hoping the food would be good as well.
The food was decent - flavorful with a lot of variety and a good value for the money. The bonus was our server who was super nice and funny to boot.
Had a fantastic meal here. Everything was delicious. Service was impeccable. The menu offers a few 'family-style' options that I think are perfect if you're like me, and have a hard time deciding what you want. I really don't think I could go to a Chinese buffet ever again after experiencing this place.
Good food and a CLEAN restaurant. Lunch menu is affordable. Dine-in service was absolutely excellent. Love the shrimp appetizer. We recently ordered for a family get together and that was delicious as well. Would highly recommend Ho Lo Ma to our friends and family in Albuquerque.
I've been hearing lots of good things about this place, so I finally stopped by. I was not disappointed. We called the order in and picked it up to go. The person on the phone was pleasant, spoke clearly, and got our order right. The lady at the counter was friendly and engaging. We didn't dine in,, buy the restaurant was bright, clean and roomy. There were about 3 parties dining in, all well spaced out. We ordered beef fried rice; has onions and bean sprouts, texture and flavor were spot on. Sweet & sour chicken; the chicken was crispy, the sauce good (not great), I missed the veggies but my husband and son didn't LOL. Sesame chicken was good. Kung Pao beef extra spicy; very food, excellent spice, good ratio of beef to veggies. Will definitely go back.
My first visit here was excellent, the food was delicious and our server was very nice! The egg flower soup was so tasty
My daughter and I went today for lunch our food was delicious and our server was the best. Couldn’t have asked for anything more! I recommend 10/20
It had been at least 15 years since we had eaten at Ho Lo Ma on menaul. The food was tasty.. the server was distracted on the phone, yet she managed to provide quick service to the 5 tables occupied. We noticed a lot of carryout orders being picked up. We won't wait another 15 years to go back.. Yummers!
Bar none, the best hot and sour soup in the state, if not the planet. While I always say that not everything is for everybody, at Ho Lo Ma there’s something for everybody. 10/10
Thomas (usually in the front) is always amazing and fast .Great at multitasking .Food always hits the spot .And worth every penny . The only place in town to get an amazing egg roll! I always recommend Hi Lo Ma to everyone i meet !
Ordered the full size king pao chicken and chicken egg foo young. Both were huge orders and delicious! Decent prices in this time of high costs. I’ll be trying many other dishes over time.
My husband and I order from here quite often since it’s right around the corner from our home haha He loves their fried dumplings and orange chicken and I am a huge fan of their beef noodles with bean sprouts 🌱❣️
It's easy for me to say that Ho Lo Ma is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the City of Albuquerque. Don't be deceived by outward appearances, Ho Lo Ma is everything an American Chinese Restaurant should be. Authentic, delicious, well-established, and family/locally owned.
Every visit I've ever made here has been satisfactory. Whether it had been for picking up take-go orders or dining in. Ho Lo ma repeatedly and reliably takes care of me. My most recent visit was certainly no exception either. I came in the other day with Dad for an afternoon lunch.
The restaurant wasn't terribly busy and we were seated right away. The menu features a lot of Chinese essentials. In the past, I have taken advantage of some of their more unique offerings. Such as ordering one of their large crispy duck platters.
This time around, however, I went with something more modest by ordering a combination platter. I believe I got the number 35 which came with sesame chicken, orange chicken, fried rice, and an egg roll. A small cup of egg drop soup was also included as an appetizer. For what's it worth, we got a lot of food for what we paid for and it was all delectable. Plus, it made for great leftover food in the coming days.
Though, there are several other Chinese restaurants in the nearby area. I will be so bold and state that Ho Lo Ma is the best Chinese eatery on east Menaul. Again, don't let outward appearances fool you. This place is not worth only ever driving by or blowing off.
It was good. Wasn't what I was expecting. I ordered chow mein and I got steamed rice. Portions are big. But next time I know to order the lunch meals.
