I rarely go out for Mexican food; exception would be if I’m deep in an area of a big city with a heavy Mexican population. Traveling the world, you get spoiled on “authentic” cuisine and disappointed about the Americanized version of same. At least I do. Same after I lived in China. Never been in a P.F. Changs, Chipotle, or Panda Express.
We've been eating here or getting take out probably since it opened years ago. As with every restaurant we've visited, there's been good and not so good, even a little bad so I'm writing this as an overall comparison with all others. Service has always been good - just do not expect anything fancy. We've always been greeted by a smile and friendly people. The food has always been good (except the time years ago when they had a gringo cook) - just do not expect anything fancy. The atmosphere is that of a small Mexican border town restaurant - nothing fancy but that's a plus for us. We've visited much fancier Mexican restaurants (all with much higher prices) but this is where we go for good food and a touch of Mexican atmosphere. If you want fancy dining, go somewhere else. Otherwise, maybe we'll see you at Buena Vista.
Lived in this area for over 12 yeas, always passed by it. Not sure why, just didn't appeal to me but I decided to try it out yesterday and it has to be one of the best Mexican restaurant I dined at. I had the vegetarian burrito and it was delicious! My husband had the chicken Chimichanga and raved about how great it was. I think i just found my new Mexican food spot!
We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we arrived in this delicious place which friends told us about. We had a lovely time there with exceptional meal and an experienced crew and a distinguished chief cook. We added this place in our list and we will certainly come back very soon. We deeply recommend.
Really great food. Very authentic Mexican. Family owned. Friendly and clean.
I noticed a few bad reviews, one said something about Indian food??huh? This place is great. I have never had bad service or a bad meal. I go there often.
Love their salsa. Let me restate that...it's the best salsa you will ever have. Period. We drive an hour just for their salsa. Made with roasted tomatoes it is to die for! Their other salsa is made fresh daily and contains just the right amount of spicy kick, with fresh ingredients. Nice view of the Fox River. It's not fancy but the food is excellent.
We always enjoy coming here for a large burrito dinner to eat in or take out. Their prices are reasonable. Sometimes we've noticed that they can be a bit understaffed with only one waitress on a busy night which can be upsetting when take-out orders seem to take precedence over our dine-in order.
The best Mexican dishes in the area for miles, good service when Mom is around and even better when they're full force. I've only ordered a handful of dishes on there menu but the one that stood out was the "caldo de pollo". Nonetheless every item on there menu is top notch!
Was very happy with both, food and service.
Mostly food to be honest.
Great dishes!
Awesome restaurant with great prices. If you get a seat in the window you will be overlooking the Fox River...nice views. Just about anything I ordered here was outstanding. The Chicken Mole was really good and the Chilli Rejeno was also tasty. This is a Family owned restaurant and the owner is almost always in the kitchen preparing the food. My recommendation is to get a good comfortatble booth. Enjoy 😉😎
