Review Glass Onion Griddle - Allen Park

We ate here for the first time today and all I can say is I am impressed! It looks like any normal diner from the outside, but it’s warm and welcoming on the inside. The food was absolutely amazing. We had almost no leftovers (and I took 3 kids!) I would highly recommend them for any breakfast/lunch type meal.

You can enter from the front or rear. Cute family diner. All the staff is friendly. Checked on us several times. The food came out extremely quick. The stuff French toast wasn’t overly sweet and the turkey sausage was fresh (not frozen). The American sandwich was on point.

Delicious, neat, and fresh, tasty food! Love coming here :) Cute little local cafe, and I love how they have a monthly specials menu too =D. Recommend coming on a weekday though for no wait, forgot a place like this would be super busy on weekends lol

Went here for our wedding anniversary brunch. Been following them for a while on Instagram and finally came to try! Diner style restaurant with good breakfast/brunch/lunch. I don’t eat pork so them having a lot non pork options was a plus! I got short rib hash and pancakes which were AWESOME! Husband got the triple threat sandwich which has cornbeef, beef brisket and pastrami. That sandwich taste like more! Will be back soon!!

Went here with a friend he talked about how good the food was. He was right great food. I has the brisket hash and was flavorful and Very filling. I pressed on and stuffed myself by going for the onion soup since I am from out of town so knew would not be back soon. Definitely worth trying. Nice mix of flavors and nothing overwhelming so that was great. Nice little mom and pop kind of place. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.

I wanted to try a new restaurant for brunch. This was my first visit and I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and they were knowledgeable about the menu. It was a beautiful day and I was able to sit at a table outside with an umbrella for shade. They suggested the special which at the time was the Pumpkin Spice Beignets... 😋DE...LI...CIOUS!!!! The meal I ordered was fresh and very tasty. Thank you to the staff and to the cooks! Great job!!! I'll definitely be back.

First time going there... Very friendly staff, Clean Place and Food was delicious... our servers were very nice...Cuban Sandwich was just like the ones I've had in Miami. The Godfather (see photo) was also excellent..Everything was fresh, buns were perfectly toasted. The flavors were all there! I cant wait to try more..

The Glass Onion literally never disappoints. The specials are fresh and delicious, the regular menu is consistent and diverse. We've been coming here at least once a week since they've opened and we've never gotten tired of it. Even for take out, the food is always boxed up great. I had to add this photo of my cheese steak special, it was too pretty not to! And delicious as well!

Holy cow this place is a heaping pile of amazeballs with a generous side of awesome sauce! My client recommended we meet there for breakfast, as she said it was one of the hot breakfast places in the area. I ordered lunch at 10 am because their lunch menu items just were awesome. The Reuben was stellar stacked so high I could barely bite it. Fries just the way I like 'em: well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, fluffy soft on the inside. The glass onion soup came topped with these fried cheese chips that were crispy then they slowly turned into delicious melted cheese. My favorite was the bruschetta. The toast was light and crispy and not like "cut your mouth" hard, like some others I have had. The tomatoes were red and delicious, the basil fresh, I'd wager the balsamic was well aged and the mozzarella, gosh, I really have had nothing like it. I consider myself a foodie and I have paid very high end dollar at fine dining places for a good imported buffalo mozzarella. I'd say Glass Onion's rivaled anything I have had before at shockingly modest prices. This place is an absolute gem. I have no idea how they provide the types of meals they do at the prices the offer, but I am grateful and will come again. Alissa was so nice, very friendly and a Downriver local her whole life, as is her husband, Anthony. I would go back just to give back to such cool Downriver proud people. Thank you for your service in bringing our community such a great place!

Fantastic the food was amazing and fresh generous portions and delicious not a single complaint the service was excellent and they kept the coffee coming I asked for a cup of hot tea they brought me tea extra hot water lemon honey it was fantastic we found a new spot definitely will be back

Glass Onion Griddle is our "go to" place for Sunday meal after church! The wait-staff, manager and chefs are all fantastic! We have actually ordered a bit off the menu and were given just what we asked for. Great food and a wonderful atmosphere every single time! Their specials are unique and delicious! They offer both a breakfast and lunch menu that covers what you need. You must try them out soon!!!

We have been in Allen Park for a year. At first when we tried to go there they were closed. Then they were always crowded. Well finally decided to wait it out. All worth the wait. The food was remarkable and the staff was excellent. I don’t recommend it to the impatient people, besides I don’t want to wait behind you anyways. :)

Wonderful experience from the food to the staff. If your looking for a different twist on breakfast gravy this place is for you. Absolutely delicious! So many different options you can’t just visit once.

We are so happy that the Glass Onion Griddle is in our hometown. The quality and diversity of the food is outstanding, the staff has always treated us well and are attentive. The prices are fair, even for a retiree. Great breakfasts, in house smoked meats and great sandwiches. My last visit, I had the Red Wine Poached Pear mixed green salad with a cherry/vanilla house made dressing. It had dates and white cheddar cheese - it was delicious! I recommend this restaurant to anyone. (No alcohol)

The food is excellent, well priced and generous. We've never left there hungry. Highly recommend a breakfast or lunch there..... well worth it!!!!!!!!

This was our first time visiting The Glass Onion and it will not be our last! All of our food was delicious! I had the corned beef hash with sunnyside up eggs. It was so yummy. My 9 year old son even commented on the presentation of the our meal. He said "this place is pretty stylish with their food!" They also made room for our party of 7 by asking some people to move to a different spot so we could all sit together. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Just excellent! The first place in the area that can nail a poached egg. The food doesn't seem rushed, but gets to you in a timely manner. I love the fresh varieties of known classics. I would recommend this place to everyone! Great food, great music, great service!

Great food and our waitress was really sweet and nice. She was thoughtful enough to bring my kids (14 month olds) their food first so I could get it cut up for them and get them started and then brought my food out. We will be going back for sure. They have some things on their menu we can't wait to try.

Excellent food and service. Delicious thoughtfully prepared plates with a sweet attention to detail. A must do for breakfast or lunch if you are in the downriver area, a true gem!

I went for the very first time yesterday and the food was good, the waitress was very friendly and attentive, even with crowd they had we still were seated promptly..I will return soon

Salmon Benedict was delicious. I would recommend checking this place out for a great meal & atmosphere.

This is an awesome spot! Cozy, family atmosphere with incredibly friendly staff. Good sized menu and food was delicious! Wish I lived closer!
