To celebrate my birthday I wanted to choose a restaurant I had not been to before. Oak steakhouse did not disappoint. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and smelled great as you walk in. We had two appetizers, one was the pork belly the other was the reds. Both were great. Everyone’s steaks were cooked perfectly as requested. My duck fat poached lobster tail was so soft and flavorful. The cocktails we good too and I received a birthday espresso mouse cake. They can get busy so make your reservation for your party ahead of time to reduce your wait. We will br back.
Upscale, elegant, aged steaks and clinking wine glasses…this wood and brick sophisticate eatery has no TVs, high-end dry and wet steaks, delicious chef-style vegetable sides, and the soft murmurs of business and pleasure taking place over white tablecloths. 🥂
I come here for whiskey and bourbons at the bar. The barkeeps are professional and chatty. There are many couples and old friends about. There is an air of business and important celebrations. Very relaxed and you get a VIP treatment. Great if you want to yak with a friend about important things over high quality meat 🥩🥰
Why is it so dark! Music plays in the background - a little loud for my tastes. Initially we did the fried chicken meal as an appetizer. We shared it amongst the four of us. That was the juiciest chicken I have ever tasted! I didn't know chicken breasts could be so good! The collards were so good and I'm not a veggie girl. I didn't see a drink that I wanted on the menu so I asked the waiter if he could make me a pineapple upside down drink and he didn't disappoint! Strong!!!!!!!!
Steaks. My friends shared a tomahawk and it looked very fatty to me. They loved it. I got the bone in rib eye and it was good. Needed some salt and something else....not sure what. I need to learn my preferences when it comes to wet aged and dry aged. I think I'm a wet-aged girl. The steak I had was dry. Or maybe it was the other way around. Sorbet for dessert for me. The others had chocolate cake that looked moist but wasn't.
Oak Steakhouse is great for steaks. I will definitely be back.
Probably the BEST ribeye I have ever had and I'm in my 50s. See ice was amazing from Bobby. Couldn't have been better. The wedge salad was absolutely amazing. Never had a salad like this before. Was a birthday dinner for my brother in law. Our server really went all in for us. We will be back often. What a great dinning experience!
Food was magnificent, waitress was wonderful and the bartender was as sweet as she could be. Would highly recommend anybody wanting a perfect steak.
I was going into Oak with high expectations given I am friends with an employee and knowing Oak is a very prestigious restaurant. However even with these perks I was blown away by the food and service. My waiter Tommy was very personable and overall a very friendly guy. I would like to say I am an adventurous eater however the Dry aged strip here was better than any other place I have had it in the past. Both the service and the food could hold their own as top notch restaurants but together made for a perfect meal. Will most definitely be returning with friends and family. Amazing ambiance aswell throughout my evening
Our overall experience was great and I would recommend this place to anyone who loves high quality meat.
Service - the service was fantastic. The waiter was very kind and knew what he was talking about. The manager came to check if everything was ok and to chat a bit which was very nice and appreciated.
It was our anniversary so we got a free dessert which was really tasty.
Food:
Crab cake - was incredible. 10/10. A huge patty, delicious, juicy and packed with flavor.
Brussels sprout and cauliflower - was delicious as well. Slightly too sweet for my palate. 9/10.
Ribeye bone-in steak - probably one of the best steak I've had in my life. You get a huge piece of meat, packed with flavor, very juicy, cooked to perfection. 10/10
Japanese Wagyu A5 - this is probably the best cut of meat in the world. It melts in your mouth and it's delicious. Hard to explain how tasty it is, you just have to try it. I ordered a 7oz steak which is a decent size. Unfortunately the piece I received was around 2-2.5oz, 3oz at best (see photos). I know any piece of meat will lose around 30% of its size when cooked but this was really a tiny piece. Considering you pay $32/oz, it was a bit disappointing. This is the only reason why I gave this restaurant 4 stars and not 5. Don't get me wrong, it was still incredible. The only issue was the portion.
I will definitely come back for another visit, but I will not get the tiny piece of wagyu steak.
What an incredible experience!! Everything was amazing from the oysters rockefeller to the octopus to the steak - we tried it all and everything was so delicious. Sam and Whitney took care of us so well and we thoroughly enjoyed the night. We live in the city but will be back to this area just for Oak!
