We went to the Champion Buffet for Father's Day and had a blast. I've always loved this restaurant and thought the price was reasonable. Great place to watch the horse and wiener dog races. We ended up staying for 4 hours. The only thing was our waiter was slower than a mollusk (table 301 on Sunday 6/17/18). He skipped our table & didn't come back to check on us until I went up to find him. He started showing up more toward the end to collect the bill LOL. Overall, a great place to spend our Sunday afternoon, eating and watching the races.
Nice place to rest your head during the black Friday shopping that starts on Thanksgiving day. It was fun to be abable to rest and gamble. Your breakfast buffet was great. Awesome place to stay.
Great place to stay and play. Love salt water pool and fitness center. Staff make you feel like a best friend that just wants to spoil you.
I love their buffet I eat here at least 3× a wk if I could this is what I want for Christmas a gift card to the buffet. The food is soooo good I really can't get enough of it me and my family love this place my two boys loves this place
Brought my wife to stay and go to the horse races, our room was awesome... The staff at A.J's steakhouse were awesome as well, and the food was delicious
First time here. Salad excellent good blue cheese dressing. Large thick juicy bone-in pork chop was cooked perfectly & nice flavor, side of mashed potatoes. Wife had chicken Alfredo was excellent. Servers very friendly only issue had to request bread bowl and then a refill which never came, but didn't need because main course serving size was very large. Overall, recommend for a nice meal, of course not cheap
Recommend making a reservation here simply due to the high foot traffic that could arrive anytime. Adreyn did amazing job with us and is a great server. I had the NY Strip and split the spinach dip washing down with an smoked old fashion and an Seven Mile Merlot glass. So far the best place I have found in the whole state of Iowa!
Nice atmosphere, dark, and pleasant. I took my wife in for a date, and we had a great time.

My wife and I spent Valentines Day weekend at Prairie Meadows Casino as that also is our anniversary. We went to AJ's Steakhouse for dinner Friday night without reservations and were lucky enough to get a table. They were EXTREMELY busy, but our service was outstanding. And I can't stress enough just how awesome our dinner was. We ordered Chateaubriand for 2, cooked right between medium rare and medium. When we got it it was cooked to perfection, the grilled asparagus and carrots that were served with it were just about perfect even though the asparagus is out of season.
I would have to say that this was probably the BEST steak meal I've had in over 20 years, and wouldn't hesitate to come back here again for a nice weekend getaway
The restaurant had a cool look to it. The atmosphere was dark and very quiet but it was a Wednesday when we ate there. Our server was wonderful and attentive. The spin dip and complimentary bread were our favorites! The fried chicken came out piping hot but was super dry, as was the pork chop but all of the sides were delicious.
