Once again today I had a lovely bowl of pho at Miss Saigon. I have been enjoying the pho there for many years and recommend it highly. I have also tasted a good deal of their large menu and have never had a bad meal there. The relaxed atmosphere and good service make it a consistently good place to take friends and family when you are out and about in Amherst. It's not an elegant setting, but it's very good for casual dining. The menu includes a wide variety of pho, which is served with fresh mung bean sprouts, fresh basil leaves, jalapeno slices and a lime wedge. Sri racha sauce and hoisin sauce are always on the table. Great appetizers including various rolls, dumplings samosas, meat on sticks with great sauces can get your party started and you will see lots of Vietnamese classics in the main sections of the menu. The salads are always fresh with great dressings. The drinks menu is also extensive and includes teas, juice combinations and flavorful jellies and bubbles.
Love love love this place! Their broth is always so hearty with a lot of flavor. I recommend their Miss Saigon pho!! I’m not a big meat eater but the meat is too good. 🤤 It’s usually pretty crowded during peak hours but you will always be comfortable. Miss saigon is my safe place 🫶
Having been to Miss Saigon twice now, their service and food is excellent. Every individual who works here that I have interacted with has been friendly, timely, helpful, and pleasant, and the space itself has a rather cozy and clean atmosphere. The pho is brilliantly flavorful with a variety of protein options, and, especially when considering the quality, the serving size for the price is incredibly reasonable. The apps I have had (dumplings and crab rangoons) were also highly enjoyable.
I find their specialty drinks to be good, but lacking the same level of flavor and quality that is present in the food.
Overall, an awesome meal and experience that I look forward to having again in the future.
Everything was absolutely delicious in this adorable little place.
It has a hole-in-wall/old school diner feel to it, which is very inviting and unpretentious.
We were meeting friends for dinner and ended up here when the other place closed early due to weather. I think it was a blessing in disguise!
I do not know what I ordered (a noodle dish of some kind) as I asked the server for a recommendation, she patiently pointed out the most popular items and I went with one of those. The others orders soups and one order pecan chicken. Everyone said their meal was fantastic.
We had a few appetizers as well, and they were equally enjoyable. Highly recommended the lettuce wraps!
Service was great. Friendly, quick, and efficient.
Excellent value. Prices were great for the portion size and quality.
Maybe I am remembering it with rose colored glasses due to having such a fun evening and showing up ridiculously hungry, but I do not think so. Regardless, I cannot wait to go back!
(Not many photos as we were too occupied with eating!)
I really enjoyed the curry chicken soup with jalapeños and basil added to taste. The crab rangoon's were extra crisp and the dipping sauce complemented the appetizer. I plan to order delivery in the future. Be sure to plan extra time for waiting, but the food quality is worth it!
Very popular place, all tables were filled. Good food at reasonable price points. I had the # 60, very tasty. Appetizers were a bit on the greasy side. Can happen if you have a full restaurant plus lots of takeout.
Found reviews online and we were not disappointed. Very generous portion sizes. Perfect to split an entree or plan on leftover takeout for your lunch the next day. (although a woman) I am a hearty eater, and I couldn't eat even half. Ordered Green curry with chicken, medium heat. Perfect heat but didn't overpower the flavor. Hubby agreed my dish was better than his (he got #54 and it was also tasty).
Would be a regular customer if I lived nearby and wasn't just passing through. Highly recommend if you are in the mood for Vietnamese dishes.
The busiest restaurant in town for a reason. Please be patient because the food here is amazing and so worth it. I love their pho, chicken wings and the banh mi is the best I've ever had. Very affordable too.
Phenomenal Pad Thai. They accommodated the vegetarian request perfectly. Phenomenal crispy basil chicken dish. Excellent chicken dumplings.
We were planning to eat somewhere else but it didn't work out, so we hit Miss Saigon as an alternative. I have to say, we were both so glad it turned out that way! Fun, relaxed atmosphere; friendly, accommodating staff who really seem to know the menu well and THE FOOD!!!! The two of us split a BBQ pork Banh Mi to start and then he had the Miss Saigon Pho while I had the duck soup, perfect for a rainy day!! We also had a Matcha Milkshake - I'll be dreaming of it until I get to have one again. We couldn't have been happier with the meal.
Got a shrimp vermicelli bowl so good, and a BBQ tofu Bahn mi sandwich even better. Plus two jellies, a tea and coffee jelly both awesome. Don't sleep on this place. Great service great food
The GOAT of restaurants in Amherst.
Frankly speaking, Amherst is not a bastion of culinary excellence, but this restaurant might make you think otherwise.
The pho and bun bo hue are absolutely fire, and are GENEROUS with the MEAT. The lunch special bun bo hue in particular is an incredible deal. The banh mi bread is soft and crusty and the banh mi's themselves are delicious.
But wait, there's more! This restaurant also happens to be the best boba tea spot in Amherst. I have family members who brew their own Thai tea (imported from Thailand) and the Thai tea here is bang on. The jasmine base is also delicious.
Yup, not much else to say, easy 10/10 🔥
Absolutely the best Vietnamese food I have had in MA! Friendly staff_ clean _ busy but only wait 2-3 minutes for a table. The food come out incredibly fast and was very fresh tasting and very hot!
Great spot for lunch. Wasn’t too hungry for a full meal so a friend and I decided to split some “little” bites. Well, the little bites were more than we could have asked for. We ordered steam pork dumplings, steamed shrimp dumplings, soy paper veggie spring rolls, crab Rangoon and a Vietnamese iced coffee. All this food for $20 a person. Great price, delicious flavors, plentiful amount of food per dish, and Swift service. Highly recommend this spot.
Ordered vegetarian soup bowl. Very packed. Serving size very big.... for the size bowl. Layers among layers of goodness... tofu by itself is bland. Needs a texture. It's my fault. That I failed to remove thing I don't eat while ordering dish. That's on me. But the atmosphere is relaxing. Place has yummy broth.
As for egg noodles. It was a tiny serving size..
I'll be sure to return and check out there other menu items next time
Miss Saigon is my favorite restaurant amherst! They are affordable for the average college student, and they have a plethora of options to choose from. There is no place like Miss Saigon 🤎
Excellent food and lots of seating for a smaller restaurant. You can tell it is a beloved restaurant as it fills up quick. The broth of the pho was distinctive and great.
My favorite restaurant around! Usually my birthday dinner since it is so great. Each item is superb 👌
This place is AMAZING! I have grown up on a, local to myself, pho that was a staple in my town and will forever be the best for me.
THIS PLACE CAME RIGHT UP TO THAT LEVEL! Seriously folks this is such amazing food.
To start it was about 6pm Saturday night so it was already packed and there was a line when I arrived. These people are efficient though. Seriously. Another couple came behind us and spent about 10 seconds deciding they wouldn't want to wait. If they would have waited about 4 minutes they'd have been in. I saw it happen man lol. Everyone just gotta have a little patience and know that good things come to those who wait! I got this little table inside in a heavy traffic area but to me it was just as cozy as could be. Surrounded by the sounds and smells of a real, authentic pho restaurant is food paradise for me.
My waitress Nora was super friendly and courteous! Any questions we had she knew or found out. I felt she went out if her way but I could tell by the pace of the place and how she was that it's just they was she works. It's great to have people like that working for you. We really felt welcome and appreciated for even being there. That's how I feel the vibe is in a lot pho places but Nora hit the mark here.
I started with the fresh spring rolls as an appetizer and these were so good! So fresh and the sauces, fish oil and peanut sauce, were spot on, fresh and so delicious! O had expectations and they hit it perfectly.
We two different hot teas and my expectations were absolutely exceeded, especially my second brew.
I ordered a traditional canh cua (menu says it can feed two it's huge), Vietnamese sweet and spicy soup. I could not have gotten it better. This was the best I've had since my hometown. Every vegetable was crisp but not "thrown in" by any means. Every bite had a different taste, a new herb, a different spice, okra, tomato, pineapple, sprouts and it goes on and on. I felt like I went to heaven the entire meal.
It felt like I was there for a long time. I kept eating it and eating it. I really wanted to finish it. My friend wanted to check out the dessert menu so Nora brought one over and I asked if she had suggestions because to be honest I've never seen or heard of any of there and I didn't even know what to think. She told is the most popular ordered items (smartest this for people in this industry to to!) and I made a quick choice off of that.
No idea what to expect. No idea how to even describe it to be honest. I really really wish I could but it's take even longer.....and I just can't. I've never had anything close and you gotta just open you mouth and your mind and free the beautiful things that can happen. Banana sweet rice something. I was an experience and I want to try more! More of that and more things like that!
That is the was a true new food experience that was amazing should end. When I have something over have never even imagined before and completely unable to describe afterwards but leaves me for more.
Thank you so much for my amazing experience in your restaurant.
!! I LOVE YOU !!
