First time trying hot pot, it was a fun experience! The owners were extremely helpful and service was exceptional. If you've never had hot pot, don't be afraid to ask. The staff is more than willing to help you, so you don't feel dumb.
We ordered vegetable combo (their freshest veggies), ribeye, tofu combo, noodles, rice, sesame sauce, kimchi broth, and spicy broth. Everything was delicious and fresh! Warning: the spicy broth is REALLY spicy so you better have an iron stomach if you choose to order it. The sesame sauce helped take some of the edge off of the spiciness, kind of had a blend of sesame and peanut taste. We'll probably come back with a group of friends 😉
The owners were absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend had never had hot pot before so they walked him through the menu and how to make his dipping sauce. They were very attentive. The food was delicious and there's a wide variety of menu options. It's easy to get carried away with ordering but it really wasn't too pricey. We'll definitely be back.
Really wonderful fun spot for dinner. The staff/owners are incredibly kind and clearly care so much about what they do. They were more than willing to take the time to explain how hot pot works and continually check in on us throughout the meal. Very fresh quality ingredients with generous portions, especially for the vegetables. We got the mushroom broth the the special spicy broth.. which is no joke - so spicy! Overall great experience and highly recommend.

Took my husband and a friend to introduce them to hot pot! It was the perfect end to a cold, snowy night. We tried the original, spicy and mushroom soups with a myriad of tasty toss-ins, and were in love with all of the flavors.
The reason why I leave this review is because the owner not only asked us if we were first timers (I wasn't but they were!), but he sat down and walked us through the process, all while suggesting methods of sauce preparation and combinations. He was immensely passionate about his craft. The most important thing I have to stress is that in no part did any of us feel 'talked down to'. He wanted us to have as much fun as it looked like the other tables were having!
Then, the food... oh man, the food! The prime beef alone stands out above and beyond among generous portions of seafood, vegetables and more, thinly-sliced for easy cooking, had some AWESOME marbling that melted and added richness to the soups as my companions and I demolished everything on the table set before us.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you're curious, try it once at the very least. Maybe you'll put North Hot Pot into your regular rotation of places to head out and eat with friends and family, like I have.
Just had a delicious lunch at the North Hot Pot! It was our first time with this type of dining and the owners, Jeremy and Jason, went above and beyond teaching us the Hot Pot method. They also reviewed the menu with us, listened to what we like, and recommended delicious foods they thought we would enjoy. Everyone should give this new place a try! It was fun, and wonderful to experience new flavors. The sauces were great! We will definitely return to expand on the many foods offered. What a great dining experience to add to the area! We'll be back!
I went their today for the first time on a date and had an amazing time. The food was great we got different broths, vegetable and mushroom combo's plus some meat options. The server I believe his name was Jeremy. He was very attentive and explained how the menu worked. We did not wait, and the food and drinks came out very fast. We spent over an hour there and did not feel rushed at all. This is by far the best Asian restaurant I've been to in Amherst or even in the area. Great service and great food!
Went with my wife and loved it!!!! Everything was so fresh and tasty. We got the beef and seafood combo and was great. Service was helpful and friendly too. They made sure we knew what we were doing so that the meal was perfect.
THIS PLACE IS SO GOOD!! When we got there Jeremy, one of the owners, explained how to get the most out of our hot pot experience which really did help us enjoy our meal more. All of the food (meat, vegetables, broth, sauces) was delicious and very fresh. We will definitely be back to dine here again soon!
(FYI there is no alcohol served here and I think patrons cannot BYOB.)
The owner introduced himself, thanked us for coming, answered questions, walked is through the process and have us tips and suggestions without being pushy. He also really seemed to live hot pot. The broths were great. The staff was really friendly. I really loved my dinner here.
Excellent food--everything was so fresh and delicious. This was probably the best service I've ever had at a restaurant. Friendly, attentive (but not annoying), welcoming and polite staff! You should absolutely support this restaurant and enjoy their wonderful food!
Edit: This is the first time I've ever been compelled to write a review, as so often the food will be great but the service so so or vice versa. But this place nailed it all!
