Simple looking restaurant in Amherst catering to Szechuan/Chinese tastes. Hotpot, dry pot or classic stir fry, all the options here favour authentic Chinese flavors and styles. An adventurous choice for intrepid westerners or a taste of home for the local east Asian communities. The food is clean, very tasty and moderately priced. The layout can be a bit confusing and the staff is at times slow, but once you sit down with a cup of tea everything seems less important... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Great food. The service isn’t very perfect, (we had to ask for bowls and spoons) but the hotpot was relatively affordable and tasty.

The atmosphere is one of the best in Amherst--very sleek and modern. The food is good, but not exceptional. I wish there were more vegetarian options--I only remember there being a veggie ramen. The service is quick and friendly, and they also are generous with the occasional free sushi roll or ice cream.

Clean & modern atmosphere, good food, quality sushi, tasty drinks, friendly staff, and fantastic prices. As an Amherst native, this is one of my new spots! I know what you're thinking - "why would I eat at ichiban when there's so many great restaurants in downtown Amherst"? Valid. But, Amherst can get pretty busy... and expensive if you want a filling meal. Sometimes I feel rushed at some of my favorite restaurants in Amherst, or even neglected because of how crowded they get. This is where I appreciate ichiban. It's a quiet and pleasant atmosphere where I can sit down for an hour, relax, have a beer, and get a satisfying meal for 2, all for under $50. If you're from the area, then I recommend giving this new place a shot. You won't be disappointed!

Here is really the best sushi, sashimi, and roll restaurant in this area. Also, this is the biggest Japanese restaurant at Amherst. You can see the beautiful platting of combo menus. Ingredients are so fresh. Also, their lunch menus are affordable and delicious. They just opened but will become a popular Japanese restaurant.

New hot pot place in Amherst. In fact, the only place in Amherst. It is newly renovated and price is decent. They also have the grilled fish dish which also looks amazing. The different teas, like bubble tea, were also very tasty.

Five stars all around: food, service, comfort, cleanliness and price. If you love sushi, you'd better get in here. Terrific food all around, a loveable wait staff, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Great lunch specials, too. I'm ready to go here all the time.
