Located in the city of Amherst, about 40 minutes West of Downtown Cleveland, and famed for the “Snoogle” as well as Pirogies plus several styles of Polish and American Baked Goods, Kiedrowski’s Simply Delicious Bakery proved to be a fortuitous stop between the Hotel near Hopkins Airport and “America’s Roller Coast,” all twelve items selected well-crafted with a focus on doing things in old-school, time honored fashion.
No doubt a local favorite, the line a dozen long before, during and after arriving at 9:45am, Kiedrowski’s is a tight space with limited outdoor seating and the majority of its footprint used for baking and displaying, the indecisive at a disadvantage as the queue moves quickly, the staff accommodating at patient…at least moreso than grumbling natives who just want to grab a Snoogle, Frycake or Muffin.
Certainly not a looking to reinvent the wheel, the majority of the glass cases’ contents focused on Quick-Breads, Donuts or Cookies, it was with a large box in hand that the store was exited, a mere $14 for the lot almost unheard of in 2016, first bites of a Blueberry Frycake and Cruller fine though not revelatory while the Peach Fritter and Old Fashioned Donut were each reference standard, the outsides crisp and glistening while the inside was moist but not the least bit oily.
Taking a different look at the “Cronut” by placing a freshly made Butter Croissant in the deep fryer before topping it with Streusel and shellacking it in a sugary shell it seemed unnecessary that the same treatment was given to an otherwise tasty Apple Fritter that unfortunately proved far too sweet to be enjoyed past a bite or two, the Kolachy and Kiffle both as good as homemade while the “Wahooski” was simply a good Sugar Cookie celebrating the Cleveland Indians advancement to the World Series.
Taking a bit of chance on the Corn Muffin, results shining as the sweet yet toothsome batter was piped full of a zippy Cream Cheese core, it was finally here that a “Snoogle” was partaken in, the mashup of a Cheese Danish and Puff Pastry like that of a Cream Horn justifying its fame as the shattering shell gave way to gooey insides, a word to the wise being to enjoy this concoction in an outdoor space, or at least somewhere that cleans up easily.
The Snoogle is legendary! Delicious, flaky iced pastry with cream cheese-y filling. Had them at my wedding and at other family gatherings, and the service is always good.
MUST GO!!!.. This was simply amazing. i went here with my family a couple of moths ago for a funeral and afterwards we stayed a couple of extra days. Anyways we came here and the famous Snoogle. we LOVED it. it was made of dough has a cheese cream center and is glazed with regular glazed donut glaze. we bought 3 dozen to take to the drive down back to Cheyeene Wyoming. If yuor reading this you must make at least 1 trip in your lifetime.
Thx Have a Great Day.
SNOOGLES 4 EVA!. Thank you for being so fabulous at Food Network's Fabulous Food Show and giving us awesome Cheese Danish and the best Snoogles EVER!!!! Those Snoogles are divine!!!! Thank you also for your generosity and kindness! You busted your butts at the show, I could tell you guys were exhausted! Thank you for all your hard work because it is much appreciated! Now go and rest!!!! To people reading this review, you have to try their Snoogles! They are insanely delicious! Everything was fresh and yummy from them. What amazing pastry dough! I'm still drooling! I will load a pic soon!
The Best. I am not a pastry person what so ever. I never get dessert when we go out, and I probably only eat 2 donuts a year. But I heard that Kiedrowski's has been winning national awards lately, so we took a trip to try it out.
Everything in the shop looked great. We ended up getting a variety of everything so that we could share them with friends later.
Cheese Danish- Without a doubt, the best I've ever tried
Sour Cream Donuts- Same as above, as good as a donut can get.
Glazed Donuts- Ok, not great, kind of doughy.
Iced Croissants- Awesome. Melt in your mouth.
Molten Chocolate Cake- Not a chocolate guy, but it looked really good. My wife loved it.
Lemon Raspberry Tort- So good I almost came to blows not wanting to share the last part.
Snoogle(house specialty)- This is a mix between a cheese danish and a lady lock. Absolutely fantastic.
Everything came to only $17.50! Compare that to anywhere else, and it would probably be double that.
To top off the great variety, the owner, Tim, is a great guy. He found out we came from Cleveland (only 25 minutes away), and started talking about the Browns and gave us a free loaf of bread for coming all the way out.
I would recommend Kiedrowski's to anyone. I'll be back soon.
Missing paczkis. I moved from Lorain to Charlotte some time ago. Now, around Easter, I am missing paczkis. It very well may be worth driving to Lorain just to get a couple of these doughy sweet pillows of love. Get in line, you will not be disappointed.

Best in the Midwest!. I can't say enough about the homey feeling you get when you walk into this place. And the polkas are always on, which certainly makes you want to grab a partner and start doing the polka right in the bakery! The smell draws you in from way outside.. smell of frosting, cakes, cookies, SNOOGLES, breads... makes me hungry thinking about it, all the way in AZ!! The frosting is not for the dieter... it is REAL WEDDING CAKE FROSTING, not that bucket or fondant stuff! The cakes are double high, and they melt in your mouth... mmmmm... haven't had a snoogle? You haven't lived.
Kiedrowski's Bakery. Kiedrowski's simply delicious bakery is the best kept secret west of cleveland. Lots of ethnic pastry with home town personality! fresh donuts daily ,many types of bread and cakes with the best buttercreme on the planet! i especially love the snoogles--very addicting. Polkas playing --and the aroma of baking--reminds you of grandma's on a sunday....
The Best Bakery on Earth. In their down-earth, homey bakery outlet, Kiedrowski's sells the best pastries, donuts, and breads on the planet! Having just stopped by in early Nov., I especially loved the seasonal pumpkin muffins with the special whipped cream filling. I also took home snoogles and bear claws, and their asiago and sourdough breads. They have traditional Polish items (kolaches, poppyseed rolls, nut rolls, etc.). But whatever you do, don't miss their paczkis (pronounced poonsh-keys), a Polish cultural event available only during the 6 weeks between Ash Wednesday and Easter. If you've never had this filled donut that is first raised then fried, then be sure to lose your Paczki Virginity here. You'll never regret it!
I've never had anything bad from here. the Snoogles are to die for. And their apple fritters, some of the best out there. Definitely recommend if you're having a sweet tooth. Or any time really :-)
OMGosh!!!! So glad we found this amazing bakery!!! The Snoogles are heavenly. I found my very favorite pastry of all time! Huge apple fritters and sweet rolls.
Honestly the best bakery around. I refuse to get paczkis anywhere else now. The staff is incredible! Thank you so much for my favorite dessert (apricot paczki)!
Awesome bakery! There's not a bakery around like it. The pastries are the best the service is great and the workers are very friendly! Anyone who loves pastries i would recommend this place to anyone!
They always do marvelous job !!! plus the taste of their cake and frosting it’s delicious. Thank you so much Kiedrowski’s
Best Bakery around, The one thing that should be changed? if someone is coming into the store to buy donuts and wants a bigger order like 3 to 4 dozen donuts, I think they should place an order over the phone the night before and not walk in, an buy out the whole display and leave nothing for other customers there should be a sign posted saying this. I think it is wrong and should be addressed. Other then that the place is great. Note come early !!
1 word - Snoogles! if you know what it is then you'll agree, it is all you need to know. If you don't know what a snoogle is then I suggest you get your butt up to this bakery and get you some!!! The other pastry is tasty as well but nothing compares to a fresh snoogle.
