The food was good. The service was ok. The waiter was sweet, but after the food came out, it took a long time for him to return. The one thing that disturbed me was the smell when we walked in the back door. It was like walking into the most beautiful vintage place that smelled like a freshly used portapotty. It was really nauseating and it diminished the experience.

The atmosphere is rich interesting and beautiful with the Frida paintings, colorful walls and decor. I love a good ambiance for dinner! We had the most sweet server she was absolutely wonderful. I wish I remembered her name so I could call her out here. She’s a gem! The food was delicious and upscale Mexican. The flavors in the sauces are complex and a treat for a nice dinner. It’s a rare Mexican restaurant these days that serves unique and fine dining dishes. My only disappointment was the mole - you can tell it’s made with lots of care - but way too sweet and watery than it should be IMO. I will definitely come back though - overall a lovely experience.

Helpful staff, good quality food and great ambiance; what else is needed? It was a rainy day and the restaurant was relatively quiet. The server offered us yummy cabbage soup and chips/salsa, while we waited for our food.

It doesn't get any better than this! The tequila selection alone would rival any tequila shop in Mexico!! Service was amazing, food was even better and again, the tequila was very impressive! We were greeted almost immediately by a very friendly gal that came back quickly to take our drink orders. She was very knowledgeable about the tequila's and helped us make our selection. We ordered tequila and two different margaritas, one being the Ultimate Margarita which was probably the best I've ever had! I wish I could remember the names of the tequila, we ordered two extra anejo's, and they were both so smooth and spicy at the same time! Another lovely, friendly gal brought our drinks out and also took our food order. Again, she was super knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer all of our questions with ease and familiarity. I wanted both black beans and refried beans mixed together and her answer was absolutely, best of both worlds! Nothing phased her and she smiled the entire time! Our food arrived quickly but not too quickly! Sometimes at Mexican restaurants it seems like it comes out way too fast to be freshly made. This took just the right amount of time and it was nice and piping hot! Let me just say, it was absolutely phenomenal! Every single bite of everything on the plate was delicious! I had the Camarones Gilberto Aceves which was the best camarones dish I've ever had and hubby had the Chiles en Nogada which was super unique and different. The sign says gourmet and they mean gourmet! We shared the lemon cake for dessert and it was also delicious! I highly recommend Frida's and will definitely return if in the area! This is a true gem of a restaurant and Anacortes is lucky to have them!

We sat outside which was shaded. Service was prompt and helpful. They didn't have veggie enchiladas, but cheese were yummy. The beans were on the thin side. Rice was savory and tasty. Other dish was pork tacos. Very good. Flavored iced tea are refreshing.

This place was fantastic! The chicken Riviera (white chocolate and pistachio mole) was so good and a fun version of mole. The soup was also great! Server was helpful and attentive.

We love this restaurant! Delicious food (we had the chicken fajitas and the steak burrito fajita) and an extensive cocktail menu (I recommend both the blackberry and pomegranate margarita) Friendly attentive staff and a cool, kitschy Frida theme. Complimentary tortillas with 2 yummy salsas.

The dishes at Frida's are beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the servers are friendly and professional. This is a nice place to bring visitors or meet up with (adult) family. It's a bit too upscale for the palates of most young children.

I love the decor! Stunning. We got micheladas which aren't on the menu but iykyk! The steak tacos and taco salad with ground beef was delicious. Would recommend and there is ample 2-hr free street parking around. Service was great. Loved our booth by the window, it was a vibe to sit on the bench with pillows!

Located in downtown Anacortes, this restaurant is decorated uniquely with paintings of famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo (a painter best known for her uncompromising and brilliantly colored self-portraits). They have wide selections of tequila, fusion Mexican food. Extremely friendly staff, great service.

Beautiful restaurant (check out the back room with the bar), outstanding food, top-notch service. I was really impressed with this place. Everyone in my family liked the food (even the really picky kid). Their menu satisfied the stellar palates of my wife and I, as well as the unrefined palates of the kids. Great margarita selection, too. We're coming back here next time we're in Anacortes.

Best Tequila selection around! Just ask for their tequila menu or from the tequila cabinet. Anything from Blancos to Extra Añejos, bottom shelf to top shelf, premium and ultra premium. One of the guys brought out some that are not even on the list or avaliable out on the market yet. If you are looking to sip on some rare/hard to find tequilas than this is the spot in Skagit County. Dont forget about their amazing foods also. This place gets packed so reserve ahead of time and enjoy!!!

We just moved to Anacortes, and the restaurant we intended to go to was overrun with people. So glad we happened upon this wonderful place! We winter in Arizona, and most of the Mexican restaurants there serve the usual cheese-laden American-preferred fare. I have no idea how authentic these dishes are, but the ones we ordered were excellent. My husband had Chiles en Nogata, and I ordered Steak Carlos Merida. All sorts of interesting flavors and ingredients, all adding up to absolutely delicious. As we were entering, another couple was raving about their dinners. The atmosphere is comfortable and homey, and I believe our server was an owner. Classy people, very welcoming. Highly recommend!

We had a nice evening sitting outside. These service was meh. I think they tried to be friendly but they were busy and fridas. What I love about this place is the chef is more of an artist. This is different than any other Mexican restaurant. They put a twist on things they have some amazing things on their menu that I'm looking forward to trying the future. I don't know what was in the rice but it was green and was delicious it was soft it was hot and like the restaurant I had gone to the week previous whereI could barely choke it down. There were unique flavors in the coleslaw that you just kept wanting to eat it and figure out what it was. I think a little vinegary too. It was great. The vegetables in the burrito were all cooked so well. I really do honestly believe their chef is an artist. Update: this time we tried both vegetation dishes they offer. One was crepes 'something' & the other not crepes lol (I can't remember name) They were great but pretty much just sauteed veggies. The little green chip dish with black beans mixed in made a great improvement. The rice helped too. The crepes we believe are just thin egg as you can see in a close up photo included. It was alright. Neither sorted a lot of flavor. Needed garlic at least. But overall, we will be back!

Wonderful food and great service. If you are looking for Mexican food elevated this is where you want to eat. Sauces are all outstanding. Beautifully complex Mole with a wonderful balance between the chocolate and chilies, Pistachio Mole is also wonderful and something I had not had before. Everything was wonderful.

Best mexican food we have had in Anacortes. I especially liked the salmon tortillas. Very nicely decorated restaurant. Service is good (if a little bit gruff).

We discovered this restaurant last year after coming to Anacortes for over 35 years. Mexican restaurants are not my usual go-to choice. My husband ordered one of their specials which was outstanding. I ordered a fajita burrito that was very good also; my only disappointment with it was that it was a dry buritto (no sauce). We highly recommend this restaurant. And we always appreciate that the owner comes and checks on our table personally to ensure we are enjoying the meal. Our server was also excellent. She checked on us often without being too hovering.
