This place is super yummy German food. We've tried a handful of items and everything has been good with a few dishes being outstanding. Totally worth going out of your way to try. The German chocolate cake is so good to finish your meal up with.

This place is so great. The service is a little slow but it is well worth the wait. I love getting the red cabbage on the side with my meal. It gives is sweet and acidity with the gravy and meat. Yummy.

Pretty decent German food. They a tually have the real Spätzle. Some of the items taste really good but need a bit help visually as you can see in the picture. Other than that really tasty food. I highly recommend the Black Forrest Cake. I am an expert with that cake. My dad was a German Baker and I grew up in the Black Forrest. And the BFC here is absolutely amazing. Sauces are all really good. My Spätzle came completely dried out. I asked waiter if this is how they make them. He replied, oh no....the cook over cooked them and left. So yeah. The Spätzle was the reason I came here today cause I did not feel like making them myself at home. Bummer ...but usually this place is very consistent. One out of 10 times a screw up with Spätzle is perfectly fine. I also did not ask for discount or exchange. It happens. As long as it won't happen next time. Highly recommend this place. Atmosphere is absolutely German....doesn't get better than that. Can't wait to go back there. Just so that you all can see that i am not just a talker...the last picture is the schnitzel and Spätzle i make at home. Came with red apple cabbage, cremey leaks, grana style Dill Herman cucumber salad. Homemade from scratch.

I had the paprika schnitzel with spätzel and mashed potatoes. The schnitzel and spätzel were fantastic, tons of flavor and the noodles were perfect done. The mashed potatoes weren't bad, but they were a bit runny. Everyone else at the table had potato cakes and I would have preferred that. Service was great and the meal was affordable.

I've never had German food and didn't know what to expect but this was amazing. I had the baby back ribs with sauerkraut. The meat was so tender you could eat it with a spoon. Mark had the Jegerhouse special. Ceaser had the half chicken. They both really liked their dishes too.

I ordered the pastrami sandwich with a side of spaetzle and gravy. The roll was soft and fresh, the mustard was tangy and spicy, and the meat was mean and had a deliciously balanced blend of spices. As for the spaetzle, that stuff is dangerously delicious! It was perfectly fried in delicious butter and served with a creamy brown gravy. The price was shockingly reasonable too at only $8.95! Unfortunately I can't speak in such high regards for the peach cobbler. Not only was it near the price of my lunch (we added ice cream), but flavor wise the crust was bland and the whole dessert seemed to lack flavor. Next visit I know I'm definitely ordering spaetzle again! Lastly, the hokie decor is icing on the cake, as there are hidden gems throughout the restaurant.

Great location for a gathering. SFEA Surface Finishing Educational Assoc recently had their end of the year meeting and the venue was wonderful. We had a buffet and guest speaker with table layout was a U which work out great. Plenty of parking.

We were craving for some really good German food after the failed attempt in Vegas. Jagerhaus did not disappoint us! Good food, large portion and reasonably priced. We ordered the Paprika Schnitzel and the Roast Ham Hock. Both came with two sides so we had the German potato salad and the Spatzle. The food reminds us of our time in Germany and the restaurant decor makes you feel like you are in Germany.

We just happened to be driving by, hungry, looked over and saw this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside but when you walk in, we were rocketed to the Midwest German colonies. :-) the food was so fantastic and authentic. Sandie, the owner was very nice and came over and chatted with us for a bit. They have homemade corned beef hash so you will see me Saturday morning with a full plate! The bread pudding is spot on.

Fantastic German cuisine location. Very homestyle feel, good beer selection and the tastiest roasted ham hock (ask for it “extra crispy”). Owner came and introduced herself which was really nice. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back and have already recommended to several of my friends. If you enjoy German food you cannot go past this place!
