Looking for great food close to the Anaheim Convention Center? Gateway to India is walking distance from the venue and the food is amazing. Full of flavor but not over powering. They have a large selection to choose from.
The best Indian food I have ever eaten. I have been to many Indian Restaurants and have never liked them. Since my daughter and I discovered this restaurant we have not stopped coming. We go every Sunday to eat this delicious food. It is the best buffet they have with different kinds of dishes. It is a family restaurant, and children are welcome. In the photo, you can see the owners of the restaurant. They are great people. Come and enjoy these delicious dishes. They have a buffet every day for lunch and on Saturdays and Sundays.
I love Indian food. So, when I decided to eat at this restaurant, I was expecting the usual fare. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise! The food came out fresh and tasted exquisite! The owner was so attentive to us throughout our meal. The rich flavors of India tickled our taste buds and brought us on a gastronomical adventure. We literally feasted like kings as he had been a chef for the Royal family way back. I had been wanting to come dine here for quite some time period now I am wondering why I took so long! I could have been enjoying all this food for a long time period my dining companions had never tried Indian food before and they were in love! I can't eait to come back and eat some more!
This is my new favorite restaurant, the food and service was amazing, with good pricing, it was Buffay style so it was nice to get to taste a little bit of everything, including dessert. Will definitely be returning.
(All of the meat is halal as well)
The food was amazing but honestly the service couldn’t have been better. The owners were incredibly nice and helped us with the right meals. My friends in India have suggested dishes and we finally got to try them here and it’s up there on the best food we’ve eaten. We are mad we didn’t find this restaurant the first night, it’s right behind our hotel room. We’ll be back for lunch
I cannot stop thinking about my dining experience at this restaurant. I brought some friends who had never had Indian food before and I made an excellent choice. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was very friendly. In fact, I would rate this as one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever gone to. I can't wait to go back again.
This is our second visit to Gateway to India. Both times food has been delicious and the service has been top notch.
On our first visit we shared a chicken Tikka Masala and a chicken biryani rice dish with naan and samosas as starters.
On this visit we reprised the samosas and chicken Tikka Masala, adding a coconut chicken curry.
The kitchen will ask if you would like mild, medium, or hot on the spice level. The flavors definitely hit the mark for what the dishes we gravitate towards and bring so many memories of travel we have made.
The family that runs Gateway to India are so gracious. It has been a pleasure to dine with them each time. The word at the table: "Got the postie? Good, cos now we're going to wreck it!"
As a note: please be aware the dining section closes 30 minutes prior to business close time. They will allow order for take out (whether you order on site or call in your order) up to 30 minutes prior to closing.
We love the lunch buffet! They have the best naan bread and the food is very good. Only complaint I have is that they are slow to refill some of the entrees when they run out so be prepared to wait
Thank you for an AWESOME dining experience! We were looking to enjoy some Indian food and we felt like we hit the jackpot with this place. It was a quick walk from the Hilton and worth every step. The service was top notch and our waiter took extra time to tell us about the various things we ordered. The food was delicious and the portions were great for sharing. The naan was perfect and we especially enjoyed the pickled veggies. Next time we visit Anaheim we will certainly visit this gem!
My sisters and I had Very Polite and Kind interactions with the owner's. They are great with customer service and willing to work best to exceed customer's needs. The best part was the delicious food! Everything was on point! We truly enjoyed every bite! I highly recommend stopping by here and trying their food! You will fall in love!
Thank you Gateway to India!
Ho. Ly. Smokes. This place is amazing. Decades ago I had an Indian roommate and his mom would come visit to cook all kinda of amazing food. This place might be even better. Attentive staff. Family run. Impeccably clean. A wide variety on the menu. If I come back to Anaheim it’s not for Disneyland, it’s for this restaurant. Please treat yourself here.
I came here with my friends after BlizzCon, hungry after much geeking out, and I ordered the Lamb Biryani, which hit the spot! I ordered it mild, which was delicious and not too spicy, and service was great and very accommodating. Definitely come here if you’re hungry after a busy day at the Disney parks or convention!

A friend recommended this place as amazing food and it didn’t disappoint at all! I could tell the owner took great pride in how people liked his food. And he shared where he used to cook in India at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel.
We had the Lamb Sheek Kababs which came to the table sizzling 🥰 They were so yummy with the rice dish we ordered, garlic naan and the sauces they provided for our Samosas. Which by the way, I highly suggest getting the Samosas too!
Update: Got take out before heading to the airport. Lamb Biryani and more Vegetable Samosas… I felt like telling everyone flying in at the airport where to they could go to experience this meal as well!
Food quality was great & super delicious. Owner is great person to get suggestions. They will change the ingredients on your request. We will definitely visit again soon.
I wish I had a picture to share so you can get a visual idea of how yummy the food looks . I ripped the bag open and ate my food the moment I made it home lol ( take out ). I really love this place. I appreciate the great energy that the owners give when you're visiting. I'll continue to come here, thank you!
Edit: I went back AND have updated with pictures ♡
Delicious food with excellent seasoning. The staff very friendly and pleasant. The buffet is only for lunch but this place is definitely worth going to. Large and well served dishes.
Loved this food! We thought we'd stay a new place to eat while visiting Disneyland, and it was worth the walk!
The staff were very friendly. They explained that my originally ordered food was not to his standards, so he suggested I ordered something different, so I ordered something I've never even heard of, Channa Masala. It was awesome! Note: it was also vegan in case that matters.
We ordered vegetable samosas. After tasting the first order, I asked them to please make me some more because they were so good--they serve three samosas per order.
This is probably my favorite time/experience eating Indian food. I will be coming again for sure.
Side note, the water falls inside the restaurant are loud, make conversation a little hard. The bathroom was clean, but needed some maintenance on the soap and paper towel designer.
We loved eating here!
I got the tikka masala and my husband got a coconut curry based on the manager’s recommendation! We also got normal basmati rice and garlic naan. All the dishes were amazing, fresh, and hot!
Since everything is made to order, it can take a bit longer than quick service restaurants. Despite this, we didn’t have to wait long.
Would eat here again for sure!!
