The building could definitely use some updating and there's hardly any seating but the onion burger is great. The burger is not going to change your life and it probably won't fill you up but it's tasty and better than most fast food places.

Small, old school, friendly, model train around the ceiling,& darn good food. Yaya, that says it all. Hamburgers any way you want them. I get mine on toast with mustard, onion & pickle. Good old Hoosier breaded tenderloin sandwich. Great fries & onion rings. Pretty much any flavored Coke you want, fantastic milkshakes.

It's pretty much packed all the time. Wait it out you won't be disappointed. The Fetching Mrs. Rat has frequented The Lemon Drop since she was a wee lass. She hooked me in 1979. Don't go the week of Thanksgiving, or the two weeks around Christmas & New Year's it will be closed.

One other thing, buy a tee-shirt or a hoodie. You can pretty much wear them anywhere in the greater Midwest and someone will give you a shout out. Kinda like Young's Dairy in Yellow Springs, OH.

Best Burgers, Best Price. When I first moved to Anderson I asked the locals about some of the better places to eat. On the top 5 list of everyone I asked came the name "The Lemon Drop". They were not lying, the Lemon Drop is well worth the visit, even the regular visit. Food is comparable with the steak burgers you can get at some certain major food chain, but the taste is better. The price is better too for the quality and quantity of food. Everyone loves the Onion Burger, and I've been a fan of getting my burger on toast instead of the typical bun (both are available). The staff is like a family there and they treat their customers the same way. It is impressive to sit at the counter and watch the staff work. The phrase "Well oiled machine" comes to mind.

Sometimes...nothing else will do.. There are burgers. Then there's the Onionburger.

There's nothing like it, in my opinion.

And there's nothing like The Lemon Drop. It's quaint, it's old fashioned, and it's homey. And...the food is pretty darn good, too.

The onionburger is the flagship of their menu, as well it should be. A burger on toast? I'd never heard of it until I stopped at The Lemon Drop 25...or more....years ago. It's a nice touch.

The fries are always hot and fresh, and the staff is always friendly. And, the atmosphere is just as cool as the food. Drop in, have a burger, and soak up some of the local flavor. You won't regret it.

Onion Burger - Best Burger around!. I ate here almost 20 years ago and just had again with my college son; still the best burger! Hard to find nostalgic places like this anymore these days.

The moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by the staff. The building gives the warm cozy feeling without feeling packed in. The train going on the track, near the ceiling was a nice touch. The waitress brought waters, and then suggested we order the Onion Burger and Tenderloin. And our son wanted a Grilled Cheese, and by the time I took the photo he devoured half of the sandwich. The Onion of the Onion Burger was cooked into the burger and then was steamed making it part of the burger. My wife had it with cheese and loved it. The Tenderloin was perfectly fried and had a nice crunch to it. The Onion Rings the perfect amount of breading and crunch on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside.

Would highly recommend! Step thru the doors of this tiny diner and you will quickly be taken several decades into the past. I fully expected to see Marty McFly or The Dude sitting at the counter. The service is friendly. The food is outstanding (Onion Burger is a MUST). And even the prices reflect the spirit of the old days.

This Anderson classic never disappoints! It’s the same now as it was when I was little! We had a short wait but it was worth it!

I ate there for dinner one time and the prices are unbeat!!! The food tastes *great* too, and coming from the suburbs of Chicago, you *cannot* find a burger that tastes this good for under $5. I am seriously stunned how much I liked this place. Very cute too, make sure u don’t miss it off the main road tho (it comes up fast). Great first date spot, family spot, or whatever spot. Freakin love it.

Today was my first time going to The Lemon Drop and was very impressed. The prices were great, the food was even better, and the staff was attentive and kind. My wife and I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu. Definitely a must try and does not disappoint!

They put your cheeseburger on toast. Let me say that again for those of you, like me, ate burgers on toast. They offer tomato slices and also cottage cheese as salads. Dude.... Also I have worked in restaurants for many years and their griddle is one of the cleanest (we went during dinner rush) I have ever seen. We will definitely be back

I was suggested to go to this place, by one of their servers Lexi. She suggested the onion burger, so that's what I ordered. I was very pleasantly surprised and happy with both the food and the service. It's a very small kind of mom and pop shop, but don't let that deter you. If you're in Anderson Indiana, make sure you eat at the lemon drop.
