Grad school graduation dinner for my daughter. Duck nachos were terrific. I had the rack of lamb which was amazing! Our server, Chelsea (?), was attentive without being overbearing. Great choice at the end of a exciting and busy day!

I've been here at least five times in the past year. Every time, the experience is fabulous. The food is always delicious and prepared so well. The service is impeccable. We went here for my anniversary this year and to my surprise, they provided us a lovely glass of champagne. It was really nice of them. This restaurant treats their customers very well. What I love most is how I can talk to people easily here without shouting. Their rounded booths are my favourite. Whenever I have guests who come into Ann Arbor, I always take them here to impress them. Everyone talks about this place after I've taken them here.

With so many wonderful dining options in the Ann Arbor downtown area, I needed a special location that offered not only a deliciously diverse food menu but also a private area where I could entertain 25 clients and have access to a projection screen to assist in my presentation. Melange Bistro was a SLAM DUNK! From the beginning to the end! Those of you looking for a culinary experience like no other and an ambiance with plenty of charm, look no further than Melange Bistro. The restaurant is located in the middle of vibrant downtown Ann Arbor. With a rather unassuming entrance which leads you down a full flight of steps opening into a décor that allows the simplistic beauty of the food to really shine, though beauty isn’t the only thing bringing folks to Melange Bistro. The restaurant buzzed with excited energy and was comfortably full with seemingly satisfied patrons. Its private dining area provided the perfect mix of privacy yet comfort for my guests. The menu, prepared by Chef Jarrod was amazing from start to finish and each course was paired with a fine wine selection that only added to the wonderful experience. The wait staff were courteous and recited the menu as if it was second nature. Overall from start to finish the experience was enjoyed by all. Though I would love to be selfish and keep Melange Bistro all to myself, it would be unfair not to share the talents of Chef Jarrod. I look forward to my next time!

We enjoyed our New Year’s Eve dinner yesterday at Dessous. I recommend the squash soup and the lamb meatballs as starters. For entrees I enjoyed the steak with mushrooms and sautéed veggies, and mashed potatoes. I added the frisée salad (w/ apricot & ginger), which was dressed nicely with a perfect balance of oil and acid to bring out bright flavors. The butter chicken is also delicious. I’m planning on coming back for restaurant week!

Expensive. I had the duck and I'm not a big fan of duck but whatever they did made it quite good. We all shared our meals and it was (almost) unanimously agreed that the duck was the best dish at the table.

Just tried out Dessous for restaurant week and loved it! The food was great! Whichever option you choose, I'm sure you'll be happy with. Their cocktails are also very good. I had the "New Fashioned" and would definitely recommend it. The decor is modern and seems to try for sophistication, but comes off as rather plain. But seriously go for the food and drinks. You won't be disappointed!

I used to be a big fan of Melange; I would use it for a romantic date. The other day, I visited here again for the first time in a while, and surprisingly, it was a new restaurant. All in all, their food is much better than Melange. The complimentary naan with spiced butter/cream is a plus (photo). Since everything we ordered looked nice, the group next to our table asked us and copied pretty much everything we ordered. They not only looked good but also tasted really good. So why only four stars? I really miss the semi-private booths Melange had. Now, the floor layouts are quite different. The tables furthest from the entrance are actually nice; they are not as good as the old booths, but it's nice that each table is separated by a curtain. Unfortunately, we were not led to those tables in spite of my request in my reservation. Instead, we were seated in one of the middle tables, which are slightly better than the tables near the entrance. I thought that the tables were arranged too close to each other. The tables are so close to each other that the next group did not hesitate to talk to us as if we were in the same group. It's that close. Also, it's kind of funny because I felt as if we, customers, were ranked first-class (tables with curtains), second-class (middle row), and third-class (tables near entrance). Maybe I would give 5 stars if we had been seated in the first-class table.

This was our first time eating at Dessous and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. The menu is a wonderful fusion of Indian and French cuisine and while it fits on 1 page, each dish ranging from salads to appetizers to main entrees that we ordered and ate were excellent. We also tried several of the crafted cocktails and enjoyed them as well. Service was friendly and efficient also.

We went for Restaurant Week (which can be really hit or miss), and it was amazing. I ordered the sea bass for my main course, and it was by far the best fish I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly and incredibly tender. The first and third courses were great as well. My girlfriend also thought everything she ordered was perfectly cooked. I definitely have a new place to recommend downtown.

Love the vibe here, great design with lots of wood and bright colors on the walls. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable about every item the menu. Food delicious with great flavors and beautiful presentation. Love the small plates approach and getting to try many different items.
