Great Bi Bim Bap, and our baby loved being there too. Actually, they were the most baby friendly place we have been for a long time. And even if our baby didn't like Korean food, they have pancakes!
Bi Bim Bap Heaven. Go to Bells. Go to Bells for the Bi Bim Bap. The best Bap in the country and I've tried alot of them. I've been trying to replicate this recipe for 20 years. I'm close, but no-place I've been has better Bap!
Bell's Diner is one of my favorite Korean places in Ann Arbor. It's in a very humble location, and the inside kind of feels like someone's kitchen at home. It's not fancy by any means, but the service is always nice and speedy. The kimchi here is absolutely amazing, with crisp cucumbers and just the right amount of heat. Their bibimbop is delicious, and you can get it with brown rice. Their gochujang has the perfect ratio of spicy to sweet. They also have a wide variety of typical diner fare, which I can't speak for, as I haven't really forayed into that realm, given the excellence of their bibimbop. I have tried their waffles before, and love the thick whipped cream that they use. It's a bit of a drive to get to Bell's, and sometimes it's really busy on weekends, but the food is good and the price can't be beat.
Mary Bilyeu - Food Floozie

Bell's Diner , today's Frugal Floozie Friday feature, is a place which - as it states on its menu - invites you to "Call it your home." Very friendly, it's a great place to go for breakfast, lunch, or just to find "good, homemade food in a casual and cheerful atmosphere." It's an Ann Arbor institution. Many, many options qualify for our mandatory $5 per person budget, and it's really hard to choose among them! But since Craig and I were there in the early afternoon, I was feeling more inclined towards lunch than towards breakfast. Thus, I ordered the Deluxe Cheeseburger, which offered a choice of American, Cheddar, Swiss, or Jack cheese and was served with either fries or onion rings. Most places charge extra for an option other than the potatoes, but this full plate of food fell perfectly within our limit at $4.99. Craig ordered breakfast, as he's a traditional kinda guy when it comes to food and this was his first meal of the day. While his generously-filled plate snuck just above ou
What a gem! First time here and was pleasantly surprised to find that this is an American Korean fusion diner! All the food was delicious and the even serve classic Korean dishes. Would recommend the dumplings!! I lived in AA for many years and had no idea about this place. Would definitely come back! Staff was very friendly and service was quick.
What a fantastic mom and pop type of hole in the wall restaurant. Skip the chain places and go to Bell's Diner.
The place is small, unassuming, and absolutely simple. No vibe, no frills, just some of the best Korean food I've had in ages.
Full disclosure: It's been over a year sinceI have had Korean food because there are no Korean restaurants near me or my recent travels.
That said, this is a gem. Incredibly fast service, and amazing food.
Try the cucumber kimchee. It's not really spicy, more of a flavorful treat.
The bulgogi was outstanding. Tender, bursting with flavor. The bi bim bop looked very good.
All in all, I'm so glad I found this wonderful gem instead of going to a chain restaurant.
Love, love, love this place!!!
I was introduced to this little gem about 7-8 years ago and I have never been disappointed in my visit. It is my go to.
The food is Korean/American combo. So, the usual American diner fare, sandwiches, breakfast fare, etc and then the Korean menu! The Korean menu is a bit smaller, but still plenty of authentic options! Noodle dishes, bento boxes, fried rice, Bibimbap, Japchae, Bulgogi!
My partner LOVES The Kitchen Sink omelette! It’s really the the whole kitchen sink too so make sure your appetite can match!
I usually stick to the Korean menu. I’ve had the Jopchae, Bibimbap, Bulgogi, Mandu…it’s all absolutely delicious!! Oh! And the cucumber kimchi! If you have never tried it, this is the place to try cucumber kimchi!!
It’s become one of my favorite places not only because of the mouth watering food, the super reasonable prices, but for the people. The staff are always so friendly when we are there and they will ask you how you are and mean it.
If you like the place and the food, come back. They will remember you.
I didn’t think she would remember me or the small exchanges when I’m there, but the photo of the little brown paper bag of kimchi told me otherwise. Truly are nice people that care for people.
My son has been bragging about this place for some time. They did not disappoint! Picture below is of the spicy chicken. I went with the medium, just enough kick!
hidden gem!!! it was my first time coming to bells diner today and the service was amazing. the korean food is cooked beautifully. highly recommend!
Such an unexpected tree to find delicious Staples in addition to Korean food. We came here for the Korean bibimbap which they will make gluten-free. Spouse got an amazing burger and fries. So so so tasty. Highly recommend.
