Note: had been previously advised that the restaurant is expensive and mostly does small plates. Now the review: *Food in a nutshell was excellent and worth the hype. I had PEI Oysters and they were so fresh... I don't eat them very often, but they were a real treat. I also had Beef Bourguignon and it was deep and flavorful. Highly recommend both. *My husband had the French Onion Soup and it was also very, very flavorful and NOT salty. He also had a hamburger and FF, and although was good, wished he had ordered something else more adventurous. *We lingered and had dessert... I had chocolate mousse and my husband had a blueberry crumble gelato. Although the blueberry crumble gelato was really good, the chocolate mousse was not what I would call a standout. *i had a cappuccino and it was really good and smooth... not bitter. :-) *Yes, they feature small plates, but also have (American standard) smaller entrees. I think that this is why one feels it is expensive as the portion sizes are smaller and one would order more in general. *To summarize, I understand why people stand and wait for one of the few walk-in tables or book weeks in advance - the waitstaff sets a good tone, the ambiance of a modern French bistro is perfect and not too crowded, and the food is worth waiting for.

One of the best new spots in A2. Our second time there, and every bit as good as the first. I highly recommend getting an assortment of small plates and sharing everything. Our faves have been the oysters, escargot, roasted beets & frites. On the drink menu, you can't go wrong with an Aviation. Service is friendly and the ambiance is casual but chic; like eating inside of a little French bistro with art on the ceiling. Prices are reasonable for Ann Arbor, and while the menu is fairly small, there are dishes for multiple palettes & prices.

Adam Baru has done it again. His Italian and Mexican restaurants in town (Mani Osteria and Isalita) set my expectations very high, and Mikette exceeded those expectations. As in his other restaurants, the knowledgeable staff were welcoming and friendly, and knew the menu well. The cocktails were great (as is the wine list) and everything we ate was delicious. The garlic shrimp and ratataouile appetizers were big hits, and the filet was delicious and a great value given what other restaurants in town will charge you for a smaller, less tasty, similar cut. The duck was also a big hit. Although there was little room for dessert left, both the lemon ice and the creme broullet were delicious. I can't wait to go back (despite having eaten there two nights in a row).

Mussels and charcuterie to start, kale Caesar salad and the beef Bourgingnon, finish with espresso. Very nice, bistro atmosphere. Our server went out of her way with good service, even on a very busy night. I would go back again.

My husband and I absolutely love this place! Everything is so good, but I'm particularly fond of the fondue, escargot and the foie parfait is one of the most sinfully delicious things I've ever had! Service is phenomenal. We always have Stacey as our waitress and she's the best. Hands down my favorite place in Ann Arbor.

Mikette is one of the best restaurants in all of Ann Arbor! We have ordered widely from across the menu and never been disappointed. Drinks and food are fantastic. A great place for a date or a family who are foodies!

Another stellar dining experience from the crew that brought the gems Mani and Isalita to Ann Arbor! Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Get the mussels-you won't regret it (offering extra warm baguette to get every last drop of the amazing sauce-yum!!!) I had the loup de mer and hubby had the salmon-both were fabulous!!! Managed to share a dessert of a summer berry trifle. Can't wait to go back-again and again.

I didn't know that Mani's pickled tomatoes could be beat, but the cherries that came with our cheese plate at Mikette were equally delicious. I also didn't think that I could possibly enjoy mayonnaise, but the truffle mayo that came with the frites was so good. And who would have guessed that an eggplant tagine would be light and delicately tasty? Amazing! Thank you, Brendan, for once again challenging me to try new food and making me fall in love with all of it. The best!

Excellent cuisine/ wine list! The Kale Caesar Salad was the best! The frommage plate was ample for 2 and the Steak and frites were delicious. Looking forward to our next trip to Ann Arbor to dine at Mikette again!

A delicious restaurant as if I was in my country again, the environment reminded me of a little bit Paris. The meat was fabulous, and the fries perfectly done! The sauce au Poivre was more liquid than it is supposed to be, but the taste was still amazing! The fondue was surprising, we are used to a swiss fondue in France, this one was different but delicious and original! The bread was perfect too.

This was a perfect place to go out with family. Everyone was satisfied with their meals, and it tasted like quality seafood! I got the lobster mac & cheese and wow it was super delicious! It looked so good when it arrived that the woman at the next table saw it and changed her order. It tasted even better than it looked; I knew I was sticking with a super "safe" option that would be good anywhere, but the lobster and everything made this classic meal special. People at my table also really enjoyed the swordfish-- i think that is what it was-- really anything on the menu was delicious I am sure. We also enjoyed some good mocktail drinks and créme brulee.

I love their sister restaurants, Mani Osteria and Isalita so much I figured we needed to give this French restaurant a try. Three of us went and ordered many small plates to get a good sampling and it was not to disappoint. They have a nice wine menu and of course we started with a bottle and Crab Tagliatelle appetizer. It’s made with cucumber ribbon “noodles” instead of Pasta so healthy as well as delicious. We shared some Strawberry Fennel Gazpacho, which was an interesting take on the cold soup. Absolutely to die for was the Forest Mushroom Salad with Endive…I would go back just for that…and I’m not wild about mushrooms. Another amazing dish was the Escargot. The two I was with never had escargot (snails) and thought they would be slimy…not so; one didn’t even want to try it. Our very talented waiter, Jeff, suggested the first timers start with a button mushroom also in the dish then move to an escargot since they have similar textures….it worked for both skeptics and they even had a 2nd and 3rd bite…sauce was fantastic too. We also tried the French Onion Fondue and the Moroccan Spiced Meatballs, both good. Finished off with, what else, Crème Brulee. We will definitely be back for another Mushroom Salad and Escargot and to try some of the Entrees.

Mikette provides a flavorful dinner adventure with it's eclectic menu. The small plates are perfect for sharing and take you on a culinary journey each one inspired by flavors from around the globe. The wait staff was attentive and professional, offering detailed knowledge of both the food and drink menus. I was highly impressed by the selection, presentation, and flavor of the cocktails. The food didn't disappoint, either! My only critique being that the atmosphere is loud and close. I felt slightly like I was dining with the table next to me and I could hear every conversation within 15 feet of me. Otherwise, it's a lovely experience and a must in Ann Arbor!

The absolute best grilled cheese and tomato soup! Others in my party had multiple other dishes some vegan and they raved about them! The Chef is amazing!
