I was finally able to make it there, and I am very glad I did. The server was very good, explained the items on the Manu I had questions about, she knew the menu well. I had the crab Rangoon and the Veitnamese crepe, both were all that I expected and more. The crepe was crispy and the fillings were flavorful, it was severed with lettuce and herbs to make into wraps. I can't wait to try some other item I saw around the dining room, lots of good looking food, and plenty of people that seemed very pleased with their food. I would and did recommend this place.
I love it. It's literally the best Thai in the valley...probably also the best food in the valley.
Also, if you have dietary restrictions, this is your place. They easily accommodate gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian. (Peanut allergies should call ahead if considering, bc this is a Thai place.)
Our first time and won't be our last! We were determined to try the Pho, which was incredible, even if we needed a "to go" bowl. The spring rolls were a great appetizer and the Pad Kee Mao (I only did 3/4 on the spice level as it was my first time there) was EXTRAORDINARY! Will order the maximum spice the next time! Even the Saigon Lager was good. Conor was a great waiter and we will definitely be returning, but for dinner, again!
Basil Cafe offers delicious Southeast Asian cuisine at great prices. Perfect for lunch, takeout, or an early dinner. Many vegetarian and gluten free options are included in their impressive menu. One of our favorite restaurants in the Fox Cities!

Fantastic food, Conor was a great server. Highly recommend the pad thai and the curry. We will be back!
I have eaten here several times at lunch and was never disappointed with the food or the service. They are very good at explaining the menu which contains a wide variety of dishes.
Fresh vibrant food full of flavor. Very impressed both times we have been there. Lots of gluten free options!
The food is amazing, the atmosphere is beautiful & the service is top notch! I highly recommend Basil Cafe! One of my favorites!
One of the best in the area. Food is delicious and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Food was amazing and lots of it. I'd give it a 10 out 10. Service on the other hand was poor. I would rate the service 4. Would go back again for the food in a heartbeat.
We moved from Appleton almost 3 years ago. We came back for a visit and we were delighted to find that the food, service, and ambience are all at least as good, and maybe better, than the last time we were there. Thank you for a great evening of food and fun with our friends.
One of the best restaurants in the Fox Cities area! Amazing menu, nice staff+service, great cocktails. Vegetarian/vegan friendly. Parking available.
My bride and I visited Basil on an extremely cold night. While my bride has dined here before, this was a first for me. To spare you the agony of reading further, let me just say I am currently craving another Basil meal the day following and that is something I rarely experience. Basil's was exemplary.
We entered through what appeared to be a side door on the south side of the building where we parked. We were promptly greeted and seated in a nice corner of the rather expansive dining area. Shortly thereafter, our server, Chelsea, provided us with coconut infused water and took our beverage order. The water had just a hint of coconut providing a nice refreshing change. After our wine and Tiger beer was served, we both ordered the Pad Kee Mao. My bride ordered it with Shrimp and I ordered mine with Beef. I was tempted to order the brisket (found on the specials menu which I failed to capture), another favorite of Chelsea's.
The wide rice noodles were excellent. I was expecting a smaller noodle but these were an inch or more wide, interlaced with a thick, flavorful sauce and vegetables. The amount of beef was also more than I expected and provided a very appetizing experience.
Our dishes came with a spice level of 2 on a scale of 1 - 4. While I did not notice any heat on my dish, my wife thought hers was perfect for her level of tolerance. I was provided with a small dish of extra spices to add to my dish as I desired. I will likely order a level 4 next time.
We were comfortably full but I really wanted to experience more so we ordered dessert: Sticky rice with mangoes and a fried banana with Nutella. We enjoyed both but agreed we preferred the banana. The banana was wrapped in a pastry shell with Nutella, fried and sliced. It was delectable. The sticky rice was warm and sweet with freshly cut mango.
Our meals were $21 for the shrimp and $19 for the beef. The desserts were $7 each. Add in the wine and imported beer and our total bill came to $70. And I can't wait to go back!
What a nice place for dinner. The cafe is clean and well cared for. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Everyone enjoyed the food. An overall great experience!
Amazing experience here for a quick lunch. Have been wanting to come here for a long time. Will be back soon!
This is honestly, my favorite restaurant. I think I’ve been going there since 2016. The quality, portions, and flavor have always been amazing! Staff are always super friendly. The coconut flavoured water is super fun! They also have the best Calamari I’ve ever had! (Pad Kee Mao) is my favorite dish!
Great spot. Nice. Clean. Great menu. Can't go wrong. Also the best Tom yum soup of my adult life. Great vegan options!
I have been going here since Basil's Cafe opened years ago. I have never been let down with the fresh food, unbelievable noodles, great Vietnamese coffee, and unique appetizers. We keep coming back and are always happy with our order - one of the few places that offer this level of quality cuisine.
