Lakota has the most wonderful cookies (delicious cakes, too) and is run by talented and helpful people. Be sure to try Lenore's Butter Cookies and the Old School Peanut Butter Cookies -- but truthfully, all the cookies are outstanding!

Brought a beautiful tray of cookies to my company's holiday lunch. They were all snapped up and eaten as soon as the tray was opened. In fact, I had to fend off a couple of over-eager colleagues who wanted to start sampling in the elevator on the way up to our office. Lakota Bakery's cookies are the best. The nice variety means that you can please everyone's taste. Thanks team Lakota!

It's near a busy intersection so it's tricky to get to at times and finding a parking spot takes a few extra minutes but usually not a problem. Oh, and because the space is small and therefore a limited number of people can be inside at any given point, there is usually a line outside never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes though Despite all of this. It's well worth it because of the amazing assortment of cookies they have.

Buttery, delicious cookies, from Florentines to mint-drizzled macaroons to white chocolate chip. You can smell the aroma of sugar, butter, and chocolate setting out onto the street from half a block away. A family favorite and a local-run business, these baked goods are a must for anyone in the area.

We lived in Lexington for 33 years and Paris for 3. We bought cookies at this bakery on a regular basis and I can honestly that I’ve never found better cookies anywhere in the world. I live out of state now and this is one of the few food places I miss. It’s true that they are expensive. However, they are full of expensive ingredients, chocolate, nuts, BUTTER and are not loaded up with cheap sugar. They are cookies that appeal to adults because they are so delicious, even to people with educated palates. They are also beautiful. To the people who mention the cheaper cookies at Whole Foods: it all depends on what matters to you. They are not the same at all. The WF cookies are much sweeter and less buttery. Many of the WF cookies utilize other cooking fats instead of butter. I’d rather have one Cookie Time cookie than a whole box of WF cookies.
