Right across from Lake Alpine, this cozy lodge is perfectly situated for your trip to Lake Alpine or any of the hiking trails around there. Even if it is just for a quick getaway, it is a great place for lunch or an afternoon meal. The ambiance is very laid back and the decor is exactly what you would expect a mountain lodge to be. Staff was very friendly and attentive on this trip. Dogs are welcome and even have their own place for pictures called the "Dogs if Lake Alpine" very cute pics there. Great relaxing place. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did

There is a lodge, and I'm sure the rooms are wonderful, and the service is probably spectacular, but I did not experience any of that. I'll have to try it sometime. I always camp out down the road a bit and just come for the fishing. Great seeders, even some wild. Caught a big wild trout here once a few years back. Beautiful quiet location. Nothing compares if you're looking for a good high elevation spot - this is it. There are plenty of camping spots down the road. The main camp is always full, so reserve it way ahead of time, or you'll end up camping .3 to 23 miles away. Day use spots are plentiful, and each picnic area has an in-ground fire pit/grill. Dogs allowed on leashes. Restrooms are public, but there are no showers. All manor of boats allowed, but there is a lake-wide wake speed limit in effect. I'm pretty sure there are some good cliffs across the lake for diving, but don't quote me on it. The water is cold due to it being from the snow melt and can be freezing until July. I've been there in June (4 years ago), and the snow was still 5 to 6 feet high all around, so check the conditions before you go and plan accordingly.

This is a review for the restaurant, never stayed at the Lodge, but been to the restaurant many times. Awesome place to go and enjoy a great meal when you're in the area (Fish Tacos were great), if you're visiting Calaveras County, Bear Valley or the Murphys / Arnold area it is a short drive up the pass. Nice food and drink selection, been during the summer on the weekends, and there was always live music to enjoy while you eat. This place is just across from the lake so if you come out to enjoy the lake for the day or just want to enjoy the view and great food it is an awesome choice!

This place, the people, location, food, atmosphere are all fantastic. If you want to get away and relax lakeside in the high Sierras this is a comfortable, rustic, laid back spot where you can't go wrong.

This place is amazing! We got married here at the very beginning of their season and the lodge tried to be very accommodating. The cabins are beautiful and so is the scenery!

The Lodge store is tidy, stocking some snacks, cold drinks, ice cream, and necessary items. Nice patio overlooking lake to dine at.

We absolutely love this family owned & operated resort! It’s rustic, yes, EXACTLY what we are looking for when we visit this gorgeous area deep in the mountains! They have made significant upgrades to the cabins and the property overall, since the last time we visited! Our latest stay was in September 2022, the last weekend they were open for the season. The restaurant has great food, the bar makes great drinks, the general store has all the necessities you need and more, including Lake Alpine merchandise and souvenirs. They have fishing boats, kayaks and paddle board rentals. Some reviews said the prices are too high, I disagree. As a small business owner myself, I understand the HIGH COST of running a business like this, and the only way to continue with upkeep and upgrades is to charge what you need, not only to pay bills & survive, but also pay your employees fairly and purchase new equipment or items for the cabins. We are already booked for Summer 2023 and we are bringing the whole family! Can’t wait!

After a day of hiking, kayaking or just enjoying the Sierras, have a great burger and a drink... You won't regret it

The room was rustic cabin feel but had what we needed and was clean. Parking was convenient and close to our room and on the highway. Traffic noise we were worried about but actually didn't bother us at all. The bed was comfortable! I'm a large man and the shower was about the size I am so that was great... it's a tiny shower! Otherwise we were very satisfied and plan to stay again!

We were there for the Alpine Lake and stopped by for their Bloody Mary. It was a delicious meal. Shrimp🍤, Bacon pieces🥓, cucumber slices, celery stalk, slice of red bell pepper, olives, a lemon wedge, few shots of vodka. Bought some souvenirs from their shop. Service was good. Friendly and courteous.

We rented a house in this community. Right across from lake and has beautiful surroundings. Small store, has a restaurant plus the actual lodge to rent rooms. Very rustic vibe. Cute town atmosphere. Other restaurant/bar down the road as well.

We stopped for lunch and really enjoyed everything! It was lovely to sit outside on the deck, and the food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the bratwurst (served with sauerkraut) and the grilled chicken sandwich. The bratwurst was flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Fries on the side were also excellent. Everyone was friendly, service was great, and we had a good time. 👍

Stopped for lunch. Their Alpine Bloody Mary is a meal unto itself and had an extra spicy kick with fresh horseradish. Their sweet potato fries were crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. Their BLT was scrumptious with thick, smokey bacon on thick toast with a homemade spread. All yummy and would definitely recommend.

This is a great place to take showers, do laundry and get ice, a few essentials when camping in the area. Great spot for taking walks, camping and kayaking!!! Love this place!! Good restaurant too. It's a little pricey, but you are at 7500 feet or so!!
