I was craving steak n’ shake one evening while in the St. Louis area. As I was driving south, I saw one on the Google map but realized it closed at 10pm and it was 1030pm. I saw on my Google map that I passed one about 10min ago that was open until midnight. My need for a tasty burger and shake overcame the desire to “stay the course”. I turned around and drove back… After a short wait in the drive-thru, I was met with a smile and happy candor. I received my order and went on my way, so much happier I now had that tasty burger, unique fries and yummy shake. My large Coke was the size of Mount Everest and I would probably go into a sugar coma if I drank the whole thing. Great food and service!
I’m sure it will take time to change some things with the new system. I used to like grilled onions on my melt but the system didn’t have that option, I probably could have requested it apart from the order. But overall the system was much better there. Steak ‘n shake has been known for overworking their employees. My twin sister used to work at one and I sent her pictures of the new look and she said it looks much better. I do think they should have the option for an employee to take the order too, but overall much better than waiting for an overworked waitress. Before they were required to seat people, take orders, fill drinks etc… make the shakes and cash out. The drive thru was responsible for taking orders, making orders, making shakes and cashing out people inside as well. It wasn’t a great system. Today we were in and out in 45 min and the food was correct!
Awesome service, burgers were the best, and the fries just as good. Had a great selection of everything to order. Want to talk about clean, one of the cleanest restaurants in the fast food industry. I'd go back a hundred times to eat there...
This Steak & Shake is kinda far from the area I generally report, but those crispy hamburgers on a grilled buttery bun were just amazing. Steak and Shake burgers are are awesome and they were prompt and timely with my to go order, even with a crazy long drive thru line and a full dining room.
The staff did a great Job.
Dropped in at 9pm, 3 cars ahead of me. Super fast double steak burger and fries. Couldn't ask for better service! The food was made to order and perfect!
