Food is great. I love their breakfast burrito. Food is consistent every time. I enjoy when a place creates quality food you can expect to be the same way day in and day out. Servers are prompt, nice and attentive. Food is prepared quickly and wait staff is nice even when it has been busy. The atmosphere is what I would expect from a diner type restaurant.

Because we were passing through Arroyo Grande on way to Morro Bay and unfamiliar with casual dining in the area, we inquired of locals while visiting another business, who recommended CJ's.
This is a casual no frills diner with nice atmosphere located on main drag across from a gas station and insurance office. They offer an early bird dinner menu, consisting of chicken strips, fish and chips, pork loin, roasted turkey breast and ranch steak. The menu is standard for a diner, including a range of salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, chili, Mexican, seafood and pasta. Additionally, they serve milk shakes, several beers and the mimosas are served in large wine glasses, heavy on the sparkling wine! Wine served here are, of course, from local wineries.
After enjoying a turkey breast dinner and grilled chicken breast sandwich with spinach, we were almost full. If we did not have the hour or so drive to our hotel in Morro Bay, we would have taken the remaining chocolate ice cream with us for a midnight snack. It was delicious!
Our server was friendly, made recommendations and was able to answer questions about dishes being breaded, friend or grilled.
It was obvious to us that there is a loyal customer base. Customers picking up orders or being seated were addressed by name, and they engaged in conversation of familiarity. As long term resident of Los Angeles, this was refreshing and we look forward to our next visit when we return to the area.
Recommend for large groups and quick meals. Good value. Generous portions and tasty choices!
It was a delicious mom & pop style cafe/diner. Would definitely go again to try different foods they serve. The waiting staff is nice and attentive and the food we ordered was quick and pretty good. Nice little spot for an intimate meal.

CJ's Cafe, our favorite family breakfast spot, holds a special secret: their breakfast burrito, paired with their homemade salsa, is an absolute showstopper! It's the delicious touch that keeps us coming back for more at CJ's!

Absolutely lovely place with delicious food and bottomless coffee (my favorite 😋). We will definitely come here again to try the rest of the menu.
Fabulous food, especially the breakfast burrito
We have eaten here several times with 5 or more people in our party. Each time we have received excellent service and excellent food. I really like the pineapple coconut muffin.
I love this little diner. It's not too fancy, but the food is good. Staff people are nice.
Plus it's a mom and pop place, so bonus points 😊

Out of all the breakfast places I’ve been to in Arroyo and Pismo, CJ’s hands down makes the best omelettes. Their homemade salsa is amazing!

Food is even better than I remember. Veggie omelette was amazing. Lemon poppyseed muffin was moist and delicious. Wait staff was kind and accommodating. Hailey was wonderful.
Do yourself a favor and stop on by. Breakfast served all day!!
