Cool, eclectic taco joint that serves margaritas and mixed drinks. Inside has a good size dining area with about 12, four top tables. The menu was quite extensive, so if it's your first time, it takes a while to absorb it. In fact, we let a few people go in front of us as we pondered the menu. The tacos were fantastic I had steak, barbacoa, and pork. Very tasty! We also ordered their house margarita which was extremely and we good. The outdoor seating area is huge. And the big plus is it sits right above the French Broad river.
Came after a recommendation from a friend. So glad we did. The best fusion tacos we have ever had! Service was friendly and the staff recommendation of crispy pork belly taco was outstanding! Atmosphere is cool with indoor and outdoor seating. Glad we came a little early as the line was out the door when we left.
Not your typical taco stop and that’s the best part. These specialty tacos were perfectly crafted fusing the flavors of meats with the perfect toppings. The crispy pork belly and mole duck were exceptional and maybe some of the best tacos I’ve had! (That’s saying a lot) the house-made Queso was also worth a try. In order of the best to still good
Crispy Pork belly
Mole Duck
Steak
Fish
Bangkok shrimp
Peanut chicken (peanut sauce was a bit over powering).
You walk in this place and the aroma slaps you in the face!! What am I going to order? It doesn’t matter it is all good! But a must is the corn chowder, my fave! Good selection of local beers🍺
You can sit inside or sit outside by the river!
Enjoy
We love White Duck Taco by the river. We bring all our visitors here. It’s just so Asheville for us. Great food in a rustic atmosphere by the French Broad River. Food never disappoints and service is friendly and prompt. There is usually a queue but it moves quite quickly. Always tough to decide which taco to have since there are so many good choices.
Don’t be afraid of the long line as I was at first it moves quickly. The place is wonderful staff is very friendly and the food was amazing. You just wait for a table to open up after you ordered and they will bring your food to the table.
Great tacos, salsa trio, queso, seasoned chips, and Watermelon Sangria. The sala trio and queso are absolutely worth getting the seasoned chips were really good and almost reminded me of slightly flavored Doritos. Very eccentric restaurant and memorable. Good prices and tasty food, I will be back
The food was amazing! And came out super fast and hot. Our group got the fish tacos, steak tacos, Thai peanut chicken taco, and shrimp with queso. We also go some of the cheer wine was so good. Had a nice area by the river to sit at tables.
I'd heard great things about this place, and I wasn't disappointed. We arrived about 10 minutes before they opened on a Sunday, and there was already a short line waiting at the door. Once they opened, service was very quick and the staff seemed friendly.
The food: They have a pretty big menu to choose from, ranging between very unique and plain jane. I tried the steak and cheese, and it was delicious. They also have a Cheerwine slushie, which was awesome.
Seating: They have a decent sized indoor dining area, but it was a beautiful day, so we opted to sit outside. Their outdoor seating area is very big. You're right next to the river too, so we had a pretty view.
Restrooms: Only 2 unisex bathrooms located outside, but they were clean and well-stocked.
Parking: Plenty of free parking in their gravel lot.
This was a great find in Asheville.
I ordered the Bangkok Shrimp, Steak & Cheese and queso dip.
Everything was fresh and tasted great. The chips were seasoned and fresh out of the oven.
The atmosphere had a nice, chill, artsy vibe to it. I can dig it.
Outstanding! The tacos are incredible. I had four different ones, each one better than the last. The buffalo chicken was crispy and just hot enough. The gyro was great, just like Chicago. The BBQ carnitas was perfectly slow cooked. But the best was the pork belly with pickled watermelon. Wow! My family, all vegetarian, loved the zorba, jackfruit and watermelon mint salad. Great bar too. Watermelon Sangria is a must.
The location was perfect, right on the river in the art district. We sat outside and had fun watching the tubers float by.
Interesting and creative taco flavors. The vibe and style is similar to Torchys but may be better I dare say. Loved the Bangkok shrimp and Korean beef bulgogi tacos. They came out super fast and the servers were nice.
Top notch spot for creative combo tacos. Prices, service, and atmosphere were great. The line moves fast, so don't be discouraged. We went with the pork 🙌🏻, fish, duck, and shrimp.
You know those meals that you just remember? These tacos are SO delicious, great price, lots of variety. Quick and great service. There was a line out the door, but it went pretty quickly, and food was out within five minutes of ordering. Beautiful location by the river and great family ambience!! Would recommend to anyone visiting Asheville! 🙂
Excellent restaurant with great food and fun environment! Tacos were tasty and the proteins seasoned well! Very busy but service moved quickly and lots of outdoor seating. The coconut banana cream pie was delicious as well.
Best tacos I’ve ever had! I had fish tacos for the first time and they were delicious! We ate along the French Broad river. It’s close to the art district. It’s so popular there is always a line. It is worth the wait!
Just to start, the tacos were delicious!!
The atmosphere, although rather rustic, was very nice. Especially being right along the river.
This day was a little on the chilly side and a little windy, but nice all the same.
The servers were very nice and will bring your order to your table; Very friendly.
At first I thought 5 bucks for one taco was a little high, but after tasting them, and the amount they served, it was indeed worth it.
By the way if it is chilly outside they do have indoor dining.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
(Dog Friendly)
Had the Korean beef (fan favorite for the group), gyro, Buffalo chicken and Thai peanut chicken. Each taco was unique and high quality and as a whole this may have been the best taco experience I have had on the east coast.
The Queso was also bomb, a decent draft beer selection and dog friendly.
Not much indoor seating but plenty outside and on the river
Margaritas are worth getting, draft beer, cocktails also available.
