Walking down the street in Asheville and stumbled upon this awesome place! The bartender gave us a great drink suggestion and the food was phenomenal! We got the avocado salad and the curry chicken rotis with yams and okra! Amazing! My favorite meal in Asheville! Highly recommend!

Wonderfully authentic Caribbean food! The Saltfish Suzanne was delightful, and the dumplings that I stole from my husband's plate were perfect - not light and puffy , not heavy and chewy, just that absolutely perfect give with every bite. I loved the Dasheen Chips/appetizer - crunchy and delicious. The wait staff were friendly, and the owner Esther felt like an old friend from the start. If you like a bit of spice, ask for some home made pepper sauce. Don't be fooled by the mild creamy appearance - it throws some serious heat! Thank you Calypso, for bringing a taste of home to the mountains of Western North Carolina!

This place is fantastic!! Friendly service, great food, delicious cocktails, spotless restrooms, cucumber/mint infused water, warm hand towels before your meal, and super fun music selection. We love the whole snapper--really fresh and superbly spiced and prepared. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Asheville. And Esther is an absolute delight, always welcoming us warmly.

The food was absolutely spectacular from preparation to presentation, was very pleased. Being unfamiliar with carribian cuisine I was weary of staying. After being eagerly greeted by a true St. Lucia local we were presented with recommendations regarding drinks/dinner. Miranda gave us exceptional service all evening, serving every dish with the drink we prefered while in a timely manner. Would highly recommend this small hole in the wall restaurant, we will be back!

Had lunch here this week for the first time and it was absolutely fabulous. A party of flavors in my mouth! I had the curried shrimp rotis with St. Lucian macaroni pie and greens. All of it was to die for. Highly recommend to anyone reading this, and I'll be telling my friends all about it. Kudos!

It's my best friend’s restaurant! She put her heart and her memories growing up in Santa Lucia and she is sharing all of this with us! Lucky to have her and lucky to have such a fantastic place with such a good vibe and great food and drinks! Great team my love! We love you and wish you the best in 2017!

So happy we finally went. Honestly is one of the most flavorful meals I've had in Asheville in a very very long time. Specifically we got the oxtail and the spicy macaroni and it was amazing. On top of that the wait staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and very attentive. We will go back very soon and would recommend the next time you can't figure out where to go, you should go there.

This place rocks. Who knew St Lucia has such great food and drinks. The inky think missing is a cabana on the beach which seems to be in my mind as I drink a coco st Lucia and eat an amazing Roti. The macaroni pie is super spicy bacony and awesome!

This was perhaps the best Caribbean meal I've ever had, and I live and work in the Bronx (New York) where there is plenty of this fare. TJ The chef is an absolute freakin' genius, and I think we'll be hearing more of him in foodie circles in the future.

If you haven't been to Calypso you are missing out on one of the great culinary experiences in Asheville. We are both foodies from New York and we've tried many places in Nashville and this is among the very top. The cocktails and service were excellent.we asked for recommendations and went with the oxtail Esther the curried goat and the conch escabeche. All excellent. We will certainly come back next time in town.

Absolutely amazing! Pies are flaky with well-balanced fillings. The roti is the star of the show, though! The roti bread is exactly as I remember it from my travels in the region and the chicken curry is on point! Everything is very flavorful without being over-salted and he portions are perfect. There is a pepper sauce that you can get with the roti. Be warned. This isn’t some jalapeño or cayenne sauce. This is Scotch Bonnet (or something similar). It’s wonderfully floral and hot as fire! Delicious!!
