Rad dive bar! As a guy that owns a burger restaurant, as soon as I saw it, I knew we had to stop. No burgers, but real cool decor. Wish we had stopped a bit later when more people were around, I'm sure it gets lively in here!

Burger Bar is home to my favorite art installation of the season. Gritty and sweet, but never saccharine, this piece (I think it’s called “Public Restroom”??) explores themes as diverse and wide-ranging as economic insecurity and stratification of wealth, original sin, identity, and some chick named Linda. For me, it’s a Can’t Miss! The notable centerpiece of this installation is a portrait of a young woman with haunting eyes. Her spirit has unfortunately followed me home and cannot be eradicated from my apartment. I will say that she makes excellent egg salad sandwiches for a ghost, especially considering her age, which I assume is only six or seven years old. (She has declined to answer this and all other questions.) Whenever I have house guests, she throws my Siamese cat at them. This is upsetting for my Siamese cat and my house guests. I think it’s out of boredom rather than spite. Still, not ideal. In conclusion, the art installation at Burger Bar is a must see. I would urge anyone reading this to check it out, particularly because I think it’s likely this girl can only haunt one person at a time. I would like that person to stop being me. Look into her eyes and gaze upon their mysteries! Such as: Why do all her egg salad sandwiches include vinegar? And why does that taste so good? Did everyone in the 1880’s just put vinegar in their egg salad sandwiches? Why is her aim so accurate and her throwing arm so strong? Who hurt her? Was it a Siamese cat? Believe me, your time at Burger Bar will leave you with more questions than answers. And that’s a good thing - at least, it is if you like art that makes you think critically and/or being haunted by a poltergeist.

LOVE THIS SPOT. Rumor has it its the oldest bar in Asheville and we are here for it! Left a signed dolla bill as a momento like many of those before us! Drinks are solid and the stories told by those at the bar could be a book on its own. Check it out!

The only burger you can get from this place is the burger shot... it's tequila but it's pretty delicious 😋 it's $9 but worth it ... they will take care of you and after you can have a cheap beer chaser... I was actually pretty impressed with the hospitality and I would definitely come back. Nicky was great I really enjoyed the atmosphere... if your thinking of a Place to check out definitely check this place out... Its a dive I would likely come to on any occasion people here are pretty awesome and the vibe is on point 👉 check it out....

This place is a trip. Was packed when we visited, with karaoke inside. Prices were fine, lots of hipsters.

There is no kitchen at the Burger Bar, it's NOT a restaurant it's a bar... actually it's the #1 Dive Bar in Asheville. Along with booze there are snacks and smokes for sale but NO BURGERS! The internet lied to you..still you should go, have a few drinks and chat with the awesome bartenders...just stop hassling them about the food! It's been just a bar since the 60's!

This is the coolest Dive Bar in Asheville. It's as Authentic as your grandpa's dirty leather belt. They have a pool table, live music, and even a Game/Pizza night! Go check out one of the best kept 'local secrets' in West Asheville! You'll certainly enjoy yourself!

Please note, despite the name, they don't serve burgers or any restaurant food. They only have snacks. That aside, this is my favorite "dive bar". I'm an old punk rocker from the 80s and I've found a place I feel at home when I visit Asheville. The staff slings great drinks, but won't suffer fools kindly which has fostered a sold flow of regulars. So if you're a looky-loo who plans to start sh!t, move along my friend. If y'all visit in the afternoon and you're blessed to have Jax behind the bar, tip her well, bask in her warm smile and tell her Mindy sent ya.

My friends and I had a fantastic time here. The bartender (Taylor I think) made mean drinks at breakneck speed with a cool demeanor matched by the ambience of the whole place. She made sure everyone had a great time. Burger Bar is everything a bar should be. Also, shout out to Compass, the best pup this side of the Mason-Dixon.

No food! A bar that's your home away from home. Tasty drinks, movies, games, karaoke, live music, fun events and a welcoming familial environment. Bring your dog!

5 stars to Nicky and the gentleman at the door tonight. Rarely do you feel welcome enough to share a space with folks you don't know who treat you so well. We were treated like family- the family you want to visit. We had a blast talking with them and watching a movie. I'll be back soon. Nicky is gorgeous (so much that it hurts), sweet, and always available to hang out and be a friend. We had a great time with the bouncer just talking about movies, and he was kind enough to make sure our whitecastles turned out perfectly. I feel bad I slept on this spot, but never again. I can't wait to come back. Cheers to the entire staff, the vibe, and them opening up their spot to new people. Love you guys. -Lyndsay Rae and Dylan. Thank you for being friends and the kindness you showed us. It's not taken lightly or forgotten.

Best Dive bar in town! NO BURGERS! (there is a great story behind that btw). Afternoon hangout spot, late night oasis. I love this place, stopping in for a drink after work or the awesome Karaoke on Saturday. It's always a good time at Burger Bar.

What a great find for Saturday night karaoke! Bartender was great as was the KJ spinning the karaoke tunes. Great atmosphere to this little place as well. Will come back here for sure next time I'm in town.

Go if you’re seeking something that’s not downtown. Go to seek fun conversation, go to seek well priced drinks, go to ask questions and listen, go to pet two amazingly behaved beautiful pups, go to end a weekend with a cheap Tecate and well whiskey, or go on a Sunday night to watch a classic movie in the corner above the dog bed and just-right microwave snack corner. Don’t go to expect the same thing as any place downtown, don’t go to look for fancy drinks, don’t forget to take a look at the specials board or the assortment of beer options above the bar before ordering, and please don’t go to ruin this great bar. Oh, and tip the bartenders well as they’ll do a great job not only taking care of you but also with making you feel welcome.

This is a really nice dive bar with Karaoke in the evenings. It's a very cozy stand-alone building that also has outdoor seating. This bar does require membership, but it's super affordable with friendly staff.
