Apparently this place has been around since the 1890's. Our sever told us it started out as an inn and after the train went in right next door the noise made the inn no longer workable and the place was transitioned into a local watering hole. Now it is certainly much more than that with a great menu of starters and broad selection of dinner and lunch options. The numerous beers on tap are obvious with one look behind the bar, which is where we sat for lunch on Sunday afternoon. The bar is beautiful and features a lit fireplace, dark wood, hardwood floors and a classic and warm feel. This may be one of my very favorite places I've been to in simetime. It just feels like a place you want to come back to, and I certainly will when I am anywhere near this area. The staff were also very professional, and clearly knew about the history of this place. Apparently there is some paranormal activity that has been captured and discussed by many in this old inn now turned lovely public house. The old building is wheel chair accessible with a ramp from the back parking lot, something I know many would appreciate. This was a great find for us and we will return for sure.

The food was good. We like a good fish and chips. If you like very very light breading than it is perfect for you. Their chunky tarter sauce was very thin. The fries were okay, they were soft. The corned beef and cabbage egg rolls were wonderful . We will definitely get those to go many times in the future I guarantee it. The wrought iron chairs outside are very uncomfortable. Service was available and unobtrusive. Just the way it should be.

Editing my review from a year ago, because this place has definitely improved! It seems like they’ve made menu changes & also have a lot of new staff. The chicken cheddar mango sandwich was fantastic & so was the lobster roll. The chips & curry was a little runny but the flavor was on point. The Summer Thyme cocktail was very watery and seemed like it had little-to-no alcohol in it. The Guiness brownie sundae was also lacking, the brownie was way too thick, pretty dry, and more cakelike than what you’d expect for a brownie sundae. But our server was attentive & friendly. Overall a much better experience than when we came here a year ago. 1 YEAR AGO: great servers but mediocre food for the price

Love this place!! We go almost every week now. Izzy is hands down our fave bartender, she's so sweet and vivacious. The best place to sit is in the bar and there's a great fireplace too. The clam chowder and Caesar salad are our faves to start, the wings are good too but they don't have ranch, only blue cheese :( Other faves of ours is the burger, the chicken and chutney sandwich and Mac n cheese. You can't go wrong with this place

Been coming to this place since the early 2000s. The bar scene is great for young couples and dates and it never gets rowdy. Nice TVs with sports games going on. Wintertime is a real treat with that crackling fire and hearth - really brings you back in time. There's a dining room for fancier eating and how could I forget to mention that the food is consistently delicious with a good variety to satisfy the most fastidious of palletes. Definitely a local favorite, but do come even if you're not from the area - it's worth the trip!

Good food and drinks. Great patio. Our waitress was the best; she knew the menu and made some great recommendations.

Excellent food, (thanks to the chef) my wife and I both had the steak. We also had 2 appetizers and dessert. Too much to eat, had a little of everything to take home! Our waitress Tori was awesome. ( hope I spelt her name right)
