Absolutely fantastic old school, Italian service (said in the best possible way) in the heart of Astoria. Everything we put in our mouth was heavenly. My only advice is to get a bottle of red wine versus individual glasses! That’s a mistake that I made, unfortunately. I still recommend this restaurant to anyone who is craving Italian.

Loved it! Went in as a walk in, no wait, not crowded, we felt comfortable with the distance to other tables. Food was outstanding, delicious. I had the Salmon my friend had the Bronzino. Service was awesome, everyone was nice. Parking was a bit difficult but that is expected because of the area. Temperature checks at the door which is good to see.

Fabulous, classic Italian-American food. Great value. The food and service are outstanding. Great for our large group. Every dish from start to finish was superb. Bring your appetite, and your family, and your friends. One of the best Italian restaurants in New York — not trendy, not “instagrammable” — just great food well-served. A classic. Don’t miss it.

Best Italian restaurant in the NYC area. Loved it over the many years we've been going. 40+ years. Many great memories we will cherish for years. Brought my children tonight from out of state to show them around before they close.

What a great place. I was invited to a family dinner here. It's an old time Italian Restaurant with great food. All the waiters are dressed in red vests and are wonderfully friendly and accommodating. The food is first rate with standard menu and specials. The decorum is traditional Italian. Loved it.

I haven’t been here in a couple of years but I have to honestly say that I was very happy that I went back ! My family and I were pleased from the moment we walked in the door. The owner welcomed us with a warm greeting the bartender made great cocktails and the waitstaff and the food was top notch. Totally old school and I loved it!!!

Service was great, rotating team of very attentive staff, amazing pasta fagioli, entrees were delicious. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars was we had made a reservation and they didn't have a table saved and stuck us on a high traffic aisle next to a rowdy party. Definitely will go back though!

Absolutely delicious. I recently went there after a hiatus of more than 30 years, and everything was delicious and satisfying. Their seafood dishes are standouts. In fact we went there because I had such vivid and fond memories of the grilled red snapper - which I had last enjoyed in 1983! Nothing has changed: The dish remains my favorite fish of all time. Other must tries include the terrifically tender and flavorful grilled octopus and the handmade pasta with grappa. Classic old-school Italian. Great service too. Highly recommended.

I have been coming to this restaurant over a period of 40 plus years. The food and service has ALWAYS been 5 plus stars. Visiting it and eating there recently with my son brought back many fond memories along with seeing many familiar faces. Everything we had to eat was excellent. I was happy to see John there again. When he had left for a period there vas a vibe, positive energy that was missing. If I was given an ultimatum that I could go to only one restaurant, it would be this one.

This decour was good, except the marble tiles that covered the entire thee walls. The service was good, but could be better. The waiter approached us right away after we sat down to ask if we liked to drink something but he hadn't brought the menu yet. Then he brought the menu but not the wine list. We chose our food but did not know what to have for wine. The food was delicious but did not justify the price. I had the same taste at other Italian restaurants for half the price. For two people, with a bottle of chardonnay, that was $45.00, and two appetizers, we paid $150.00, without the gratuity.
