Excellent Place for Great Food. I dislike crummy tourists traps that create restaurant consultant decors that approximate what an Irish bar and restaurant is supposed to be.
This isn't one of those places.
Very good food here and great prices for the food quality provided. A great place to visit with friends or with a special someone. Well worth your time to visit.

Best cheesesteaks in NYC. Tender, not too thick or thin, with just the right amount of cheese and black pepper.

Best Neighborhood Pub. Love this place. Its always crowded but when you get a seat at the bar, you have a good time. Well priced & the bartender is great. Nothing like a neighborhood Irish Pub.

The space has been serving Astoria clientele since 1902, though the Irish pub & restaurant wasn’t named Cronin & Phelan’s until 1960 (after its former owners). A speakeasy during Prohibition with a brothel upstairs, guests can still enjoy Irish whiskeys rare

Always the food was good. Great for sports fans as they have multiple TV sets. I like the rhubarb pie but I wish it didn't have strawberry in it as I can't taste the rhubarb. It's good though anyway.

Best describing word: LOUD!! It's obvious that this pub is the place for friendship and fun. The menu is extensive with specials every day. Also, compared to other restaurants in the area, the prices were reasonable. Our table of 4 could have ordered 2 entrees, and that would be enough to feed all of us. We ordered the rainbow salad, Gaelic pork chops, and classic hamburger. I called my salad a magic salad because I ate and ate and was unable to make a dent in the pound or more of grilled chicken and greens! We didn't need a reservation since most everyone who entered went straight to the bar. Definitely a return visit will be necessary the next time we visit Astoria!😊

Irish sports bar. Went here to watch the Jets on a sunday at 1pm and there was about 20-30 people throughout the game. Not that loud. No annoying music playing, the game sound is on. I didnt see outdoor seating. The portions and prices stood out to me right away. They look like pre-covid prices ($15 for the sampler, $15 for the cheesesteak and fries), which makes me want to come back as well as recommend it to others. Get the burger! I didnt take a picture but it was a big portion. The service was also very attentive and kind. Has an old school vibe where they try to take care of the customers while youre there. Good people.

Great French onion soup, bowl size, for $5. Fish and chips is good but not amazing. Chicken dishes are good but nothing special.

This is my go-to spot in Astoria when I want a sit down meal at a reasonable price with great service. I highly recommend that you look at the daily specials. Lots of great choices. This is also my go to spot for a burger in Astoria. I am never disappointed having a meal there!

Pete is the best. Never had a bartender as efficient as him. He brings in the whole ambiance of an Irish bar. A little slice of Ireland in Astoria. Def recommend you stop by for a Guinness.
