We really enjoyed our visit here. This place is a historic place and was in a lot of movies. We drove past this place over 7 times when visiting. But we never stopped till now. There is a wait sometimes so be prepared. The space inside is small. They have old fashioned booths and a counter area to sit. The staff are very friendly and helpful. When we visited it was a cozy and pleasant visit. Prices were good also. They have pics of celebrities that have visited and also they filmed Dinner Drive -ins and Dives here. Guy Fieri will be filming her again next week. We liked this place and will return again. So make this a stop when you visit Atlanta .

This was a great little restaurant. I heard it had a lot of history surrounding it, and I can see why. It was very vintage, and had amazing food. Our waitress was very speedy and we got our food fast. I had the meatloaf with gravy, beans, and cabbage. The food tasted fresh and the cornbread was great too. I would highly recommend going for both the food and experience.

Definitely the place to go for breakfast or lunch. The food is just perfect and the people are way too good. We ordered the fried pork chops with collard greens and mash potatoes along with fried chicken. Guy fery thanks for the recommendation.

This is the place to eat breakfast! Open since 1956 and still very original feeling! The whole family loved the food! I recommend the omelet and cheese grits! Classic southern breakfast taste to perfection! Lots of really neat history about it inside. We loved it so much that we bought some tee shirts before we left! We will be back again one day for sure!!!

While visiting Atlanta I came across this restaurant. Upon passing it on my arrival in town, I noticed it had a line, so I took a mental note to double back, and I’m glad I did. The food was great! I ordered the veggie omelette, cheese grits with raisin bread as toast, and a slice of their ice box lemon pie, which is home made and rumored to be favorite, and I see why, cause it was good and didn’t disappoint. My service was great as well, staff was very friendly, inviting, and made you feel right at home, even got a little history lesson on the restaurant as you can tell from the decor and atmosphere that it’s family run and operated. My overall experience was great, and whenever I’m in town I’ll definitely be back. Thanks Silver Skillet!

Delicious southern breakfast. My first time coming to the Silver Skillet but I really enjoyed the food! The biscuits were fluffy and had a great softness, the white country gravy was flavorful and thick and peppery, the bacon was crisp and tasty, the chicken sausage links really pack a punch flavor wise but for me could of been cooked a little longer. I enjoyed my orange juice and I enjoyed my food so much. I'm buying a lunch plate to go, including a piece of their famous ice box lemon pie. I came in on a Wednesday around 12 noon ( closes at 2) the place was BUSY /full but not overly crowded. I didn't wait to see. I hear there are sometimes lines and a wait most likely on weekends. I paid $23.36 for 1 person but I got a 2 scrambled egg and bacon, biscuit and gravy plate meal but ordered an orange juice and extra meat ( chicken sausage links) servers were friendly, very knowledgeable, recommended food and prevented me from making food mistakes like getting cornbread I'd have to re-heat later when that day's batch was more crumbly. I'll be back!

So far the best breakfast that I had in Atlanta. Genuine welcoming from the staff, good food from the kitchen and I guess she is the founder of the place that beautiful lady with warm smile. It’s all American diner menu, go for all!

So so good! We had breakfast here and would recommend to anyone. The chicken is a must for an add-on to go with your biscuits and gravy. Save room for the lemon ice box pie at the end. Heavenly!!

Breakfast was not what I was expecting. Eggs cold, bacon overcooked. Pancacke was edible. Coffee was pretty good. Very good service!

First the good. The service was super friendly and really took care of you. The ambiance of the location really made you feel comfortable. The food was amazing. Had the roast beef with collard greens and potatoes. It was some of the best that I have had. Now the bad. The price was way more than what you would expect to pay. A meat and two vegetables with a sweet tea cost me $18. I was glad I went to say that I've been there but I probably will not go back for that price.

Super fun old-fashioned diner vibes. I got the grilled chicken omelet, with grits and buscuits. The omelet and grits were average, biscuits were fresh out of the oven and phenomenal . Atmosphere is warm and welcoming, I loved seeing the celebrities' photos who've passed by through the years 👍

Friendly service everytime. I love that they actually serve assorted cereals too. Reasonable prices, great omelettes. I’ve had the oatmeal, hash, grits, a few sandwiches. Everything is tasty. The omelette are just a favorite. Very popular spot with long history. I also love the old articles on the wall.

I recently went for the first time to the Silver Skillet and I was pleasantly surprised. I love an old school diner and the silver skillet is just that. We had a group of 5 and we only had to wait about 10 mins on a Sunday at 1230PM. I ordered the super skillet with hash browns ($12.95). I didn’t want grits or gravy. The food was delicious and warm. I would definitely be back to try something else. My partner order the catfish and grits and I tried a piece of the fish and it was seasoned well and crunchy. I highly recommend the silver skillet when you want some good comfort food.
