For the several decades that I have lived in Atlanta, Manuel's has been the place to meet my friends and colleagues. I love that it is the preferred watering hole of people of all stripes. The entertainers, the journalists, the politicos of all stripes are there with the neighborhood folks. It is, as it always has been, a great place to be.
The folks at Manuel's Tavern always deliver outstanding service and good food, but last evening, the women of PaveItBlue and other women activists were given the best possible service and attention. After a long day of marching, rallying and riding the #ResistanceTrain throughout ATL in commemoration of the Women's March, we gathered at Manuel's for a "ReSisters Revival." The wait staff and management out did themselves insuring our day ended as well as it started!
Friendly and fast service, delicious food, and decent prices. I ate here with my mom two nights in a row while staying in Atlanta. The first night I had the Memphis bbq sandwich with fries- very tasty and filling. The second night I had chips and salsa (which was incredible!) with a steak quesadilla (also delicious!). My mom had the grilled cheese with fries both nights and very much enjoyed it. For approximately $20 each, we enjoyed excellent food and speedy, indoor dining service.
Manuels is one of the greatest bars to ever exist. The staff, food, beer selection is top notch. It's like cheers but better.
Never had breakfast at Manuel's before today. Terrific service, great food. The short stack was an unexpected treat. Bananas and caramelized sugar. Great time
Hi kids! Manuel’s is my “go-to” when I’m in Atlanta. The food is fresh, and offers lots of Veg-friendly options, including a fab Greek salad that will make you shout “Opa!” And the martinis are marvelous! Try an old-school “dirty martini”; I prefer vodka instead of gin, but Manuel’s has *everything*.
The service is always stellar, too. Be sure to arrive early, if you have a large group that needs to be seated together!
If you’re into politics (and who *isn’t*, these days/daze?!) you simply have to be there when it’s election-time, or scandal-time!
A group of us were there during Trump’s January 2018 “State of the Union” Address, which was televised throughout the main dining room, and we were treated to the hilarious antics of performer “Donna J. Trump”, who wandered around, Trumpy-style.
Go for the food (and drinks!); Stay for the fun! ��
Wonderful place that I have patronized for 20 + years. Highly recommend a visit for anyone to experience a part of Atlanta's history.

Popped in after a show at the Fox and really enjoyed myself. Had a delicious Rueben and our waiter was super nice and attentive. Will definitely be back soon!

If you are looking for quintessential bars of Atlanta this is one of them that you need to go to. This place has been around since the beginning of time and never disappoints. Has a great beer selection with lots of seasonal ones and good food to boot. I enjoy starting with some poppers and my next move either the crab cake, club or Philly sandwiches. The prices are on point and if you want a cheap beer to go with your cheap meal get the house beer (pretty sure its High Life). Even though I don't smoke this was one of the last places you could and I kind of miss that aspect for some reason, still can by a lotto ticket from the machine though. Go, eat and be merry at Manuel's!
We had a coupon for this place so we tried it out. I got the philly and it was actually really good. The place is a little outdated, but that kinda adds to the charm. Service was also really good! Not a very diverse or innovative menu, but what they had was good.
You can find Manuel's Tavern at 602 N Highland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA 30307 at the corner of North Ave and N Highland Ave NE. This is a largish building with large ad murals of Manuel's and Coca-Cola painted on the side (recreations of original murals). Parking can be found behind the building or in the lot across North Ave.
A Must See. This is a great bar and restaurant. I went there recently with some friends and the history of the place is amazing. Its a true local bar in a great neighborhood. The ambience is a bit dated but the service and food well make up for it. It's a great place to stop with friends if your in the area. Highly recommend.

Relax, it's supposed to be that way.... This place is REALLY old school. In the heart of the Virginian Highlands you get the eclectic scene without the silly over the top, in your face hippy culture. This place has been there since 1953 (i think) and they haven't cleaned the walls in the bar since. The help is nice and prompt. Really had a great time there and will return when we are in the area.

Democrats can cook says this 3rd generation Republican! Spending the weekend in Atlanta and found the restaurant of the Godfather of Democratic politics. A lot of great comfort food on the menu - I hear the breakfast menu is wonderful. I loved the meatloaf and blueberry pie.
Terrific Place. Been going here for years. Love the french dip. Great service. Super fun place to hang out and drink beers.
Such a cool place! The lasanga was to die for. Trivia night was also fun.
Mixed bag. Overall I like the atmosphere and the food is pretty good.
Just be ready to get a big dose of liberalism when you walk thru the door. Little too much for me.

Picked this place for dinner over many other recommended Atlanta institutions, and it did not disappoint. So glad I made the trip.
Had half plate smoked ribs with a side of slaw, toast, and MacNCheese. Wasn't sure if I would finish it, but I did. My God, it was delicious. Service was top-notch.

We threw a surprise birthday party for my friend and I am so glad we chose Manuel’s. This was my first time at the restaurant and I honestly will be back.
The venue has a neighborhood feel. The hardwood floors are great with the natural design aesthetic. The big windows provide ample natural light and allow you to experience the area as a whole while sitting inside.
We booked the back room which is a huge area. There is also a speaker connection which is great as it allows you to create your own ambiance that you desire. There is also a curtain you can close which allows for you to be off in your own world while still being present at the venue.
Along with the booking, you get your own servers for the room. This is a great addition as it makes the service and experience as a whole very personal. The service provided was amazing. The servers were friendly. They knew the food and drink menu very well and were able to keep everyone’s orders in order and keep away from any confusion or mix ups.
The food at Manuel’s was AMAZING! I decided on the Steak Quesadilla with a side of Tater Tots. I’ll be honest, I think I’m addicted. LoL!!!
The steak in the quesadilla was tender, meaty, seasoned, and most of all a perfect portion. The quesadilla as a whole is a healthy portion and great as a personal meal or one to share. (I want another one now. LoL!)… the Tater Tots took me back to childhood. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were a perfect pairing for the Quesadilla. Furthermore, the fixings that come with the quesadilla were fresh and good. Can you tell I enjoyed my meal?
Overall this was a great experience. Manuel’s is perfect for a group of friends or a personal meal. You can’t go wrong with dropping in.

Not quite the same as it used to look but pretty close. Food is still good, as always, and they easily accommodated my special request (due to food allergies) from the regular menu during brunch. Two of us had alcohol, the other two had coffee and tea, and 3 of our 4 person party ordered from the brunch menu.
Classic Southern Democrat Atlanta tavern. So much history in this place, visited by many politicians over the years. The atmosphere is definitely the showpiece here.
The food was good, above average bar food.
Be prepared for the bartenders to let you know their thoughts on any story of the day, in my case with a very liberal slant.
I enjoyed my visit and will probably go back.

But when I had an issue with my bike in this area the staff immediately helped me with a smile and without pause

Manuel’s Tavern is a restaurant and bar. My time time here I had a great experience. My food was served hot and fresh and in a reasonable amount of time. My server was polite and courteous. Prices was fair. For food, a sprite, and two alcoholic beverages I paid less than $30 before tip.
To top things off every second Saturday they hold a game night where people gather to play “Werewolf”. To sum things up I will be back every second Saturday night.
Booked the back room for a private event and it was fantastic. No exorbitant food and drink minimums or rental fees. They were super easy to work with and our server Peyton/Payton (I forget which way she spells. I’m sorry Pæyton!) was fantastic. Would definitely recommend for a small event!
This has become one of our stops while we bar hop on Sundays in the Highlands! Manuel's has an old bar vibe with the best conversations with random people and the BEST mozzarella sticks, and let's not even mention that marinara sauce! Like they should put it in a jar & sell it because it's that DAMN good!
In between drinks, we go play pinball and take it back to the old days when we were kids. This place is a must and a whole vibe!
Manuel’s is really great for big groups. They can do separate check for large gatherings, and are good at making sure everyone gets the right food and drinks. They have really nice circle wooden tables.
Food was good, as was the beer. Had to hunt down staff to order and pay my bill.
That may just be the new post-Covid reality. Or maybe because it was Sunday night.

Some friends and myself came on a whim and we absolutely enjoyed it! Service was fast and the wait staff was very friendly. The menu has a good variety of things to offer and their beer/alcohol selection is quite large. The food came out fast and was very tasty! We will be back again soon.
Easy going atmosphere. Good historic feel. Pub food but better. Service was fast and friendly. Went for lunch, and the free parking across the street is really appreciated and accessible .
Strong bar food, the beer is cold and the selection wide. Edit: Came back here to add another star because I have been coming often and the consistency is pretty amazing. Go to: burger, the barbecue rack. Beer selection is tops.
