This was my first time in Atlanta and Sweet Auburn was our group's first meal out together. The food did not disappoint! We ordered several app's including the pimento cheese wontons (outstanding), fried mac & cheese, corn bread, and two different flavors of wings. All were very delicious! I had the beef brisket (fatty and sooooooo good) with mac and cheese, fries, and baked beans. Coming to Georgia from New Jersey, we were looking for authentic southern BBQ and this place definitely delivered. I would highly recommend.

Wow! So this dude Frank let us know what time it really is. He asked us if we would like a runny egg and cheese on our bbq sandwiches, we’re like ummmm YES! Not only was the pulled pork delicious, but we really took a turn when we were encouraged to add Blaze hot Doritos to our sandwich which Frank supplied. Nothing I could type would ever reflect the rich and savory dorito egg goodness we got down on! Best bbq sandwich of my life. Great food and service, dope beer specials for $2, but most of all, this wild ass bald guy who will get your meal turnt af.

Was staying at the highland inn. My good buddy had sweet auburn cater his wedding and I loved it then... When we pulled into our hotel, I saw it was next door. We went there for dinner which was awesome! Got the shrimp scampi app and pulled pork sandwich with mac! All of the food was really good! The beer selection was good and we ordered 2 cocktails a piece. The dont smoke whatever cocktail was really good and watching our awesome bartender make it was a great presentation that included burning a log of wood with a blowtorch! Our new spot, will definitely be back many times!

The Food was all good, and the bbq sauces were awesome. The brisket egg rolls were unique and the perfect appetizer for a table of two. Wonderful service with a great attentive staff. Good vibes in the place, enjoyable soundtrack playing, and clean bathrooms. Looking forward to returning and sampling more of the menu!

This place is absurdly good. We ordered the tofu with Wu tang sauce and it had our mouth watering. Their corn bread comes in cute little nuggets so you can pace yourself. And you better pace yourself because the dessert was fire as well. We got the bread pudding and the banana pudding. Our server Joseph was so kind and efficient. We will certainly be back!

I made the mistake of taking some out of town friends here because they had never experienced southern barbecue. The mistake occurred because now I might possibly have found my true love and it's this food! Trying to show off a bit of southern charm with a level of sophisticated class for folks from Canadian, California and New Jersey was a tall order from the beginning! Sweet Auburn did not disappoint! The atmosphere was just right! The place was definitely hopping! Love the decor right in the heart of a bustling neighborhood. The service was fantastic. Our server was not only helping us out at the table, but was also lending a hand behind the bar. She and everyone at Sweet Auburn was upbeat, knowledgeable, and passionate! It was obvious the workers we were able to interact with loved what they were doing and they were engaged with their customers. They most definitely knew their food! And the food, well, of course the food was absolutely epic! We told them a little about ourselves and said surprise us! And did they ever! Everything seemed to balance the traditional southern barbecue with a surprising kick of Asian flair! Every bite was layered with flavors and spices, not just heat! We started with cornbread and something they called Hog Toast! If I heard them correctly, apparently Sweet auburn raises their own hogs for this restaurant! Think of a huge chunk of bread with fantastically seasoned pork that melts in your mouth, surrounded by an assortment of flavorful greens and juicy tomatoes. The meat was so tender, I could have had this alone for my meal. Of course, the cornbread bucket was great...think southern sweet with a kick of heat! It was the true epitome of what it means to be southern! For my main entrée I had the brisket plate and it was awesome. The meat fell apart as I tore into it, and it paired very well with the steak frites someone at my table was foolish enough to order and sit right next me. Obviously I had to take some for myself! Someone else got the pulled pork bowl, and it was phenomenal. Anyone can do cheese grits, but these cheese grits were so rich and creamy, the should count as my dessert, they were that good! I also don't know how to brag on the food without mentioning the coffee flavored barbecue sauce they offered with a few other sauces I had no need to taste..because what I called the coffee sauce left me needing nothing else but to die happy. I hope they do NOT bottle this barbecue sauce, or I'm going to be in trouble! The side of green beans as well as the Brussel sprouts truly rounded out a great dinner! Finally, everyone else in my group went with the Sangria, which they said was excel. Sadly, I do not even remember what my drink was, but it was too good I now only have the picture to taunt me until I get back for another shot at it. I also have to add we truly enjoyed asking the servers about the various food prep methods and the local farm to table ingredients and how they wrap this into good wholesome and delicious food! Again, they knew their stuff and they are definitely not your run of the mill restaurant team. Everyone In our group had a fantastic time and Sweet Auburn Barbecue left quite an impression on my picky friends. I have to confess, I am now totally enraptured by Sweet Auburn that not only did I get back around to writing a review, I'm also already thinking about how soon I can get back there! The food was spot one, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect for an indulgent and unique take on southern barbecue! And I'm truly in love with this restaurant. I hope we are soon going steady! Sweet Auburn, you rocked!

Update: Visit August 6th. I had the pimento cheese wantons, thai chili brussel sprouts, wok stir fried green beans, 1/4 lb pulled pork. For dessert, I had a hefty slice of bourbon pecan pie with ice cream and caramel sauce. Excellent service this time and on point food. Great restaurant. Wonderful sides. However, the kitchen needs to let Waitstaff know when they've run out of an item. They were out of Brussels sprouts (what I came for), and it took a while for the kitchen to update on the items 86'd. After I was informed of the Brussels sprouts being out, I overheard the server at the next table recommending them. I had to be the one to tell her they were out.

Staff was great, as soon as you walk in you can feel the love. The Host Mimi had such an infectious personality and set the tone for a great experience. The food didn’t disappoint, Shrimp and Grits were perfect, and the Jalapeño cornbread was money. Would definitely recommend this place!!

Food was great and the asian-bbq fusion is a really interesting combo. I really enjoyed their cocktails, I had the raspberry lemonade which perfectly aligned with my tastes. We had the fried pimento cheese wonton's as an appetizer which weren't my favorite, but my partner loved them. I had the Baby Back Ribs which were delicious along with French Fries and the sesame slaw. I think I would try the pear slaw next time. My maybe controversial opinion is that dessert was my favorite part! We had the cinnamon roll bread pudding as recommended by our server and it was definitely the best dessert I've had in a while.

Never had a meal from here that I didn’t love and devour! Damn good food, a pleasant staff & I literally never wait for a table. I’ve even done a catering order as well as a coconut cake order and I was not disappointed! I’ll always recommend Sweet Auburn BBQ tbh

I was craving some great bbq today and i knew Sweet Auburn would hit the spot. I parked across the street in the public parking under the apartment building and they validated. Inside I was greeted and sat quickly. I ordered the wings as my entree and a side of wok fried green beans. I almost inhaled it when it arrived. I loved the smoked wings they’re so flavorful and a good size. I could’ve eaten my weight in the green beans. They still have a nice crunch but they’re cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. I’ve had sweet auburn many times and will continue to go back. Just great food

Sunday was our first time dining in and we loved it! We tried a few different things with our friends (French toast, egg rolls, shrimp & grits, Johnny cakes) and everything was amazing. Some of the best French toast I’ve had. Special shout out to the host. Apologies but her name started with an H, so was so kind and welcoming! Looking fwd to our next visit.
