I am not the type to write reviews as I feel when paying for a meal it should be good & I expect great service, after all that the reason to go to a restaurant instead of cooking at home. I went to Cape Dutch Saturday night & I had one of the best dining experiences in my life. I have traveled all over the world Europe, South America, South African, Greece & 43 states so far & been to 5 Michelin Star restaurants. I consider myself to be a foodie & enjoy the dinning experience from the service to the food & its presentation & taste. I have to say I had a five star experience last night, which has only happened a few times in my life & only twice here in Atlanta. There are very famous chefs with very famous restaurants here in Atlanta and they could not even hold a candle next to the food quality and taste that we had last night. We ordered the Arugula salad with a goat cheese sorbet. This is one of the most creative & unusual salads I have ever eaten that was just amazing & delicious. The goat cheese sorbet melted on the salad as you ate it making it just a super fun eating experience, again delicious. We also ordered the Scallops which were cooked to perfection. Normally you have scallops that are over cooked I the outside or on the inside a little hard and chewy or man even under cooked and taste of rubbery. Not these, these were absolutely perfect not only in the way they looked but how they tasted with an amazing flavor combination of a quinoa mixture & cucumber strains made like a noodle as a garnishment, just delicious. I was excited now to see what was to come next.
Next was the Elk & Lamb Shank. The elk was amazing taste & texture that u set your knife down & cut as though it was butter, just the right temperature & flavoring. The lamb shank was so tender no knife was needed it literally just melted off the bone when you touched it and when you put it in your mouth. Just a fine pairing with fingerling potatoes & Brussels sprouts rounded it out.
We got the chocolate soup for desert & it was good too.
I would give this place five (5) stars & come back again with other friends. This place really has their act together from timing of food delivery, to the temperature & presentation it was not just a meal but a wonderful expire experience with an incredible energy in the atmosphere. The employees you could tell loved working there & they all worked like a well oiled machine. I would highly recommend this restaurant & will be back again.
I highly recommend this great restaurant. It's in an awesome location and definitely a hidden treasure. The chef is amazing the menu is outstanding and the wine list is impeccable. The staff gets rave reviews and the manager mr. Mitch flowers is amazing. If you're ever on Cheshire Bridge Road in Buckhead definitely pop in and stay for a while, you will not be disappointed.
Walking in we were greeted by Alex who custom mixed each person in our group their own special drink...and nailed it....not for just one of us but for all of us. While ushers to our table, we walked past the wood fired oven and take in one of the most delicious smoky smells I can only describe by the statement "you will want everything you order cooked in this oven" . Every piece of the meal, from the starters to the dessert, were amazing and served by a friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a foodgasm.
What a great addition to the Atlanta restaurant scene! I love everything about Cape Dutch...the ambiance and vibe (always a fun, good energy), the staff (always super friendly and on the ball), and, of course, the food (their mussels and fries are to die for!). It's now on my list of regular go-to spots. I've loved every single experience!
Last time we were at this location was when it was Wood Fire Grill. Wow, new design and food theme. The sea bass was crispy and excellent. The mussels....the curry coconut milk ...the best I've ever had. Sereiously. Our waiter Reggie was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. This place is now on our regular rotation list.
Fantastic service, Fantastic food, Fantastic staff and can not wait to return, Thanks to the ownership for a Fantastic experience! I highly recommend this eatery

Phenomenal food, service, and atmosphere. Highly recommend
It's fantastic. As a food critic and a rater, I always enjoy their service the ambiance and the food has never failed.
Excellent restaurant! Great service, amazing food, hospitable staff and chef, highly recommend!
Excellent restaurant. You must try whatever is the seasonal special. Both peach dishes were amazing. Very professional, kind and jovial service staff, especially Jacob and Nicolas.
The Ravioli Porcini with Truffles shaved on top by the Chef were exquisite - truly melt in your mouth experience beyond measure!
The black truffles were Devine and so was the mushroom raviollis. The swordfish was mouth watering and my spicy tequila drink was so tasty. It was such a great dinner! Thank u for such an awesome tasteful experience !
Chill vibe and superb food. The chef is amazing and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Great wine selection, cocktails, and South African barbeque. The decor is classy and chic. I will be coming back.
Chef Philippe Haddad has taken the menu to another level. The presentation and quality of the dishes are Michelin star worthy. The décor of the restaurant and service are outstanding. Well worthy of a visit. Fine dining.
Superb restaurant & the food is great. Highly recommended. Great for group events or a romantic meal. The staff are super friendly and the valet parking guys were were friendly and very professional.
Very cozy atmosphere. Good food, great wine.
Went here for a drug rep dinner for work. The service was awesome and the house wine too. I ordered the Lobster Risotto and it was delicious. The environment is with dim lights and cozy corners. Drinks are also good quality. Would go back.
This place was fantastic. From the service to the food, it was a wonderful experience. My boyfriend and I came for date night, and started with a LOADED charcuterie board. It could've been a meal in itself. We also ordered a bottle of the SA Shiraz, which was delicious. After that we both had the Perri Perri steak. Cooked exactly like we asked, and just so juicy. He had to finish mine because I couldn't! Our server was helpful, knowledgeable, and efficient. Super service! Definitely recommend for a high end date night.
One of our favorite spots. Cool speakeasy type bar area to grab a drink before dinner. Main dining area is open and airy. Great food, knowledgeable servers. Muscles are awesome and great steaks. Disk specials are usually great too.
Great food... amazing experience
Hidden behind a nondescript entrance we found a fine restaurant, which gave us one of the best dinners we have enjoyed in ages. Innovative dishes, perfectly cooked, attentive and friendly service in an attractive and spacious dining room: this was the culinary highlight of our visit to Atlanta. The theme is lightly South African, as the name suggests, and there is a fine selection of South African wines, but the brilliant Belgian chef has constructed an eclectic menu, and everything we ate was distinctive and superbly cooked.
I have to say, I never eat out because it’s always so expensive.. but tonight was by far the best meal/ experience I have ever had. Reggie’s, Andrew and cipriana gave the best service. The food was INCREDIBLE and Mitch, the GM, was an amazing host. I would recommend this place to anyone anytime for any occasion. Expect to be taken careful completely to the fullest here.
Great experience! Nice interior design and great friendly staff. The chef is Belgian and very pleasant to speak with, came to every table. Excellent wines and entrees. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in town.
Delicious! A group of four of us dined here on a Thursday night They weren't super busy when we arrived, but the dining room was nearly full when we left. Two were running late (thanks Atlanta traffic) so we waited in the comfortable area near the front door. They offered to seat us, but we decided to wait. A server offered to get us drinks from the bar while we waited. Once seated, the service was excellent. We ordered drinks, which were on the pricey side ($14 for a cocktail), and they were very tasty and refreshing. One was enough to relax me! We ordered the charcuterie plate to start, and it came to our table very quickly. The server was attentive, but not annoying or intrusive. Once we ordered our meals, they came fairly quickly. The food was delicious. We ordered the sea bass, lemon ricotta ravioli, burger, and a steak (cannot remember which one, but it looked so good!). We also ordered mushrooms, asparagus, and macaroni and cheese to share. Everything arrived as ordered and the burger and steak were cooked as requested. The macaroni and cheese is not a traditional macaroni and cheese. It seems to have some bell peppers and pimientos in it or something like that. It's delicious, but you might be surprised if you order it and expect to get a standard mac and cheese. The burger came with fries, but the others didn't have any sides, hence the suggestion we order a few sides to share. We shared some desserts at the table and they were also tasty. We all enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to coming back.
The customer service at Cape Dutch is impeccable, it easily rivals its culinary decadence. The bartender Hayward is personable and professional. I easily could have dined at the bar and had the same experience. My friend and I decided to get a table near the bar and we were not disappointed. Our server was handling a cocktail party of about 25 and simultaneously took care of us seamlessly. We had the mussels, the branzino, brussels sprouts and the bread pudding. Everything was immaculate but the mussels in the delicate coconut milk based broth were the mvp! The shining star of the evening was the manager K. She gave us a tour of the beautiful restaurant after we dined and introduced us to the Chef. I will be back and will encourage others to dine there as well. I thoroughly enjoyed myself!
Awesome! You must have the fried lobster tails as an app and the steak for dinner. Both were really great. Delish! Service was also wonderful. Other tips, they have free valet and a wonderful back covered and screened in Patio-ish seating.
More than meets the eye! This is my wife and I's new favorite spot in Atlanta. The food and atmosphere were excellent. Good sized portions and unique dishes. The staff (server Calvin during our visit) is attentive and makes sure you're enjoying yourself and that your food was to your liking. I would recommend Cape Dutch to anyone that lives in Atlanta or comes here to visit.
Delicious! Everyone in our party of four was impressed with the menu, our dinner choices (which we all shared), impeccable service, from valet to sommelier. Chef, owners/management mingled casually after dinner with guests in the massive yet cozy bar space, The restaurant's thoughtful design gives ample space for everyone to enjoy conversation. Beautiful, clean & simple to accent interesting artifacts from South African culture. Formerly Woodfire Grille & equally as delightful.
Exceeded expectations. Mussels, elk and ribeye were great. Peri peri sauce was a nice side addition that was unique and spicy. Don't let the front of the building deter. A really nice bar and dining room with an open air area in the back. The wood fire grill inside is interesting too. Will definitely be back.
Really great cocktails. Food is delicious, although a bit pricey. But there are decent starter options if you want to sit at the bar and have a lively and upscale experience.
