The atmosphere is festive. The food goes beyond what you would expect an establishment with the name "Tavern" in it. With red brick interior, low lighting for dinner, and live music in the bar area, the place is a magnet for date night or an evening stop after a long business day. The all-female wait staff are extremely attentive. Attire is revealing but the black dress tops keeps it from being over the top. Note to families: it's not kid friendly. I had the Carnegie Chicken Breast which is a double chicken breast wrapped in pastrami and topped with melted Swiss. The chicken was cooked to perfection, moist, flavorful. Nothing stood out about the Fettucine Alfredo which was the side but it complemented well. Drinks were mixed well and balanced. If you are in the Buckhead area, The Tavern is a stop you need to make.
The Tavern at Phipps was an unplanned adventure but one I can look back fondly on. My co-worker and I were looking for as solid lunch and we sure found it. Parking is at a premium at Phipps Plaza so unless you’re just lucky plan on getting some steps in. When we arrived, the restaurant was packed but we must have come at the exact perfect moment to be shown to a very nice table right next to the man with the loudest laughter in Buckhead. Someone was having a good time and like the scene in When Harry met Sally I couldn’t help but think “I’ll have what he’s having”.
Thai Chips. I left Atlanta a couple years ago and I make it a point to find time for a trip to Phipps and to The Tavern. Old school vibe. Great bar. Always get Thai chips but everything here is delicious!!
Being the quintessential vegetarian (and always with limited options) I ordered Penne Rigate with fresh vegetables and was in love with first fork. Stella from tap went suitably with it. We also ordered BBQ Chicken Breast, again nicely done.
In US, I was struggling with some good veg options and loved it. My goto place whenever am back in Atlanta.
And yes prices were value for money as well.

We had Fried Trout Ponchatrain with crab mashed potatoes and lemon pepper wings. Food was good & came hot from the kitchen. Good service. They had live music on the patio, but we dined inside. Awesome chocolate chip pecan pie, served warm with vanilla ice cream, yum!!
Always great food!!. My wife and I have been here several times and have always enjoyed the food. She loves the steak medallions and I love the fried shrimp po-boy. The onion rings are some of the very best we have ever had anywhere and we can very highly recommended them. Even when they are very busy, which is often, we have never had a problem getting a table and the service has always been fine.
Great lunch!. Had lunch at Tavern today. Excellent service by Jonathan. Had the Asian lettuce wraps - very tasty and plentiful. Lingered after lunch and wasn't rushed out the door. Always a good bet at the Tavern!
Great food and ambiance!. My husband and I had lunch at the Tavern in the Buckhead neighborhood while visiting Atlanta. It is located in a mall where we were shopping. The restaurant is large and nicely decorated. Our server was pleasant and efficient. I ordered the calamari which was flavorful. My husband ordered the open faced reuben which was wonderful. It was also a huge portion.
Great food, patio, and happy hour!. The Tavern at Phipps is all around a great restaurant and obviously I'm not the only one who thinks so since it's been around for almost 20 years! The Tavern Chips and a good glass of wine are my go-to's for happy hour!
Great for guys night out. This place is a fantastic pub. Good food, good drinks. Pretty loud though and typical bar atmosphere. Waitresses have a reputation for being gorgeous.
Excellent!. Love the atmosphere & the food. Our server was very accomodating. We made the reservation on the day before New Years they took great care of us that evening! The bartenders are awesome!
Superb atmosphere. I love the atmosphere here including the lighting, music, noise level, and seating. It really makes for a great place to meet for happy hour or prior to going to the movies. The food was fairly good for pub food and the menu had some interesting variety . I really couldn't decide what to eat and I love it when that happens. The spicy shrimp baguette and tavern fries were excellent and the service was fantastic.
Great food and the waitstaff is Hot!
Best waitstaff ever!. Enough said.
Good Food. I went on a Saturday night, good DJ, childish bartender reminiscent of Tom Cruise in Cocktail. The food is okay, but nothing too fabulous. It's more of a 21-28 year old hang out see and be seen.
Great view, if you know what I mean. I've only eaten here once, and the food was pretty good. However, we all know people (esp. guys) go here for the friendly service. I feel guilty not tipping the cocktail servers everytime they walk by.
