Came with a large party for lunch. We were promptly seated and our orders were taken very quickly. While the food was ok, there seemed to be a big delay with the kitchen. Some orders took a really long time to come out, and my friends meal never arrived at all. Oddly, the last person to arrive and order was the first to receive their meal. We had to flag our waiter down to ask where my friends meal was…clearly never rung up. Everyone had finished eating (despite waiting) and her food still didn’t show…she wound up having to get it to go.
Solid food and fast service that is worth the price. The location of the entrance is currently in a construction zone, which made finding it at night a little hard. Also my girlfriend thinks it's the best place in the area to get lunch at work.
Checked this place out on a recommendation from a friend and let me tell you, I'm so happy she suggested this place. The food here is great, and the portion sizes are pretty good for the price. Get the steam dumplings, trust me. Everything else is good, but you have to get the dumplings here.
The place seems to stay busy but not so much that it ruins the experience. Even with a crowd, the restaurant isn't too loud.
The staff checks up on you regularly, and if you order something like the dumplings, they let you know upfront it will be a longer than normal wait, but they'll check up on ya.
They have a fairly robust menu, so they'll meet whatever taste you favor, whether spicy or more normal. The prices are about in line with most restaurants so nothing will be shocking and you'll get what you'd expect. It's mildly accommodating for family style sharing, but portions will feel small, so it's probably best to just order for yourself here. I've tried a few things here and I've enjoyed them all so it seems like most of the food should be pretty good regardless of your choice.
Visit them! It'll be worth it. Be warned though. The area is under construction this time around May so it'll look odd but they're open still
Spacious nice environment. Food was really good, the crispy things were perfectly crisped, and seasoning and flavor was really on point and authentic to my expectation. Highly recommend the salt and pepper prawn and Sichuan style stir-fried eggplant!
We had a dinner reservation for a party of 4 for 6:30 pm on Sunday, 2/5/23. We made the reservation on Seated, an app where you earn money back on meals at certain restaurants (use my code erin2109 and we both get $10!), so we got 14% back! Plenty of parking. Very casual - you can wear whatever you want.
We split appetizers and each got an entree. Here's what we got:
- Veggie Spring Roll ($.95): Very mini!
- Pan Fried Veggie Pot Stickers (8 for $9.95): Good! Cool presentation!
- Sesame Chicken ($14.95): Large portion! Tasty!
- Mongolian Beef ($14.95 + $2 for beef): Also large portion and also tasty!
We appreciated the big portions. We each had enough for a leftover meal. The service was super quick. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but it’s a solid option for the area!
Open on New Year’s Day which is a plus.
General tso’s chicken, mala cucumber salad, and the bam bam shrimp.
Overall the food was the quality you’d expect for Americanized Chinese but it could be better. The General Tso chicken was small pieces and I tend to like my sauce a bit thicker.
The mala cucumber salad was great, I love the spicy oil, the thick cloudy oil is very flavorful. Best cold.
The shrimp was nice but again, small pieces which isn’t a make or break thing at all, just an observation. Tasted great and I enjoyed the cilantro.
I think Grand China is top notch, when you can’t get there- this is a great alternative but doesn’t quite meet price to quality.
Was fast and order was accurate!
The strip mall was under construction it the restaurant itself was great. Food was awesome and a plate is enough to share.
Far exceeded my expectations. Honestly, I was trying to go somewhere else but I missed my turn, traffic was bad, I was getting grumpy, so I just turned in a random place and said let's find somewhere to eat in this shopping center. I'll admit the place is not appealing from the outside. We didn't expect much, but then it turned out to be really good and after living in China for three years we have pretty high standards for Chinese food. The service was great too. If I lived here I'd be a regular.
Rice noodles and fried rice were so good! Made my noodles vegan. Hot and sour soup and spring rolls were really good. Didnt even know this place existed. Must be new. Everyone come here so it can blow up!
Nice seat down chinese restaurant for nearby office goers. Went there as a group of 4 people, and ordered a few varieties of lunch special platters.
Everyone rated their orders highly.
Was in Buckhead and decided to try Urban Wu. The Kroger shopping strip mall is a little dated and I was a little concerned as the storefront looked like it was closed. On opening the door, I was pleasantly surprised! The interior was hip and modern. There was only one other table in the restaurant which is sometimes concerning. Ordered the Dan Dan noodle appetizer. Entrées were Sichuan Spiced Fried Fish Nuggets and Wu's Crispy Pork Rib. All 3 dishes were delicious! They had the perfect blend of spices, extremely flavorful and perfectly cooked. While dining we noticed that they were doing a brisk take-out business. Would have given 5 stars but took a star away for the service. While service was gracious, they missed several cues -- like serving us noodles but we had to wait for a while to get their attention in order to get chopsticks to eat with. We asked for a dish of chili peppers which they brought promptly but there was no spoon to serve out of. And we were the only ones in the restaurant! But, overall, the food is delicious and I would return.

We were craving some Chinese food and we were very lucky to come across Urban Wu. It is definitely worth the stop if you want some more authentic Chinese food with very powerful smells and great taste! If you get anything that is spicy, be warned that it is very spicy!
My go to spot! It’s so quiet and intimate. It’s also perfect for any and all occasions. The staff is so sweet and friendly. Food is incredible and affordable!
I am in love with the mustard banquets and decor at this gem in the Disco Kroger plaza in Buckhead. Excellent and super customer service backed up by delicious Sichuan dishes. Try the Pickled Cabbage, the Pork Rib dish is exquisite in presentation and taste. And the decor...unique, creative and cool. They also have a full bar service.
