Smokey Pit Barbeque - Auburn - Photo album

Stopped here for lunch with several friends after a Saturday morning hike in the Auburn area. I must say the barbecue was some of the best I’ve eaten in Nor Cal. I ordered the 2-Way Lunch Combo, which consisted of ribs, chicken and two sides: BBQ beans and coleslaw. The ribs and chicken were tender
Very friendly owner! We got the ribs lunch plate with Mac salad, potato salad with chicken! Great portions! We wish the ribs were cooked longer, they were on the tough side! The chicken was really good and the sauce was tasty! The roll we were given didn’t taste fresh, more stale than anything!
I like flavor with my food, so seasonings were missing, but they were cooked just right. The tri tip sandwich was bomb. I just wish I had some horseradish to go with it.
The meat here is AWESOME!!! Real oak fire slow cooked meat. For such quality food this is a good value. My only regret is not going here more often. I love the lunch specials. We have used the catering platters and they are great for groups. You won’t be disappointed for supporting this small busine
This unassuming, hole-in-the-wall place is awesome! We love everything we get here — ribs, chicken, links — and all the fixin’s! The smoker in the parking lot smells divine, too! We’ve tried other local BBQ places and this beats them all, hands down.
This little hole in the wall BBQ joint off of Hwy 80 in Auburn, is a good surprise for my wife and I. We love finding hidden gems and this is one of those. You won't be disappointed! I had the 3 meat combo with ribs, link and brisket along with macaroni salad and fries.
Such great food. Owner is friendly and accommodating! Definitely try it out.
I was impressed, they load plates macaroni salad was on point straight from scratch nice place.
Hands down the best BBQ place in the area. Small family business ran by a man who cares about his work. It's a small hole in the wall with little to no curb appeal besides a large star sign above the door. The food was absolutely delicious and the servings are more than fair. He smokes and cooks his
Oh my goodness.. this is amazing BBQ. The Ribs were so meaty, BBQ beans were not to sweet and not to smokey just perfect. Macaroni and potato salads homemade. Hot link spicy but not so spicy that you couldn't enjoy it. Tri tip sandwich stuffed with tender slices. Only 30 minutes from the house so
I have never had a bad experience here. The ribs are as good as any I had when I lived in Nashville . The meat is so tender you can eat it without teeth. The owner, cook and all-round everything else is so kind and gracious. He seems to always remember you and what you order. I never like to go else
This is a fairly small establishment. You order at the counter and then take a seat. The place sits about 20 plus a few seats outside. The staff was nice and the food was good but nothing to write home about. I ordered the 3 meat combo and it was too much food. If you don't want your meat smothered
Very good food. Every side dish house made. Pulled pork, ribs, chicken, Very tasty hot links. Ate lunch there 2 days and will come back soon.
EXCELLENT FOR CATERING SMALL OR LARGE OCCASIONS! The owner of Smokey Pit BBQ always goes above & beyond to accommodate. They've got excellent BBQ here, you'd have trouble finding something on the menu to complain about & the prices are excellent for their quality of food. Highly recommended if you e
I love this place. I live in San Jose so I can only get here after a Tahoe trip and without fail I've been stopping by every single time, bringing everyone who's with me on the trip there and they all love it. Arguably best ribs of NorCal Editing 5 years after the intial review above. The tradition
Finally good bbq in Auburn ca. Ribs were tender, chicken moist, BBQ was smokey and good. Must try.
