The absolute best place for pancakes, if you're up there later in the day, try the bacon wrapped meatloaf. This is a small place tucked away in a bistro type neighborhood and parking is a challenge, trust me when I say it's worth it.

Not from Austin but we will definitely eat here regularly when in town. Best corned beef hash ever!!! Little bit of a wait but so worth it!

I had the Greek Chicken entree, delicious! Hubby had Chicken Fried steak, pleasantly surprised that it was a real steak. Had the Apple pie a la mode, perfect ending! It is the neighborhood cafe, with best service and great food.

One of my favorite places to get breakfast. Get queso on your eggs, and a cinnamon roll pancake. Delicious!!

Good ambience and cottage feel restaurant. Got to know this is the original first restaurant set up by owner by combining two houses to facilitate the food and dining services. We had chicken & pancakes, Chilaquiles and Cuban Pork Benedict in two occasions, it’s so good!Server is polite, enthusiastic and attentive. Food is tasty and good portion too. There is only limited parking space available nearby the restaurant. Have to drive a little further to find more parking lots. The place is dog friendly too as diners can enjoy their food at the outdoor tables too. Will visit the restaurant again.

What a delightful restaurant! Kerbey Lane…whose original location is on that particular city street—has grown to 10 locations, and is still very much a local fave. From comfort foods to a handful of innovative items, they’ve got something for every appetite and dietary preference. I went with the Broccolini Sandwich, which was vegan-friendly and swimming in delicious cashew “cheese.” If I didn’t know better, I would swear it was a traditional cheesy sauce. My sandwich also came with abundant fries, and I was happily full. I love the coffee-cup-on-a-pole out front. It screams “Come in here now!” Austin is swimming with many innovative independent cafes, and Kerbey Lane is among the best.

Came for dinner while in town on family vacation. We wanted to find a place that's unique to Austin. Since I need small portions, I ordered the kids cheese burger and added bacon and sweet potato fries. My children ordered chicken tenders with fries. My mom ordered Pancakes with eggs and sausage. Our food and service provided was good. It was nice to see unique forms of art sold by various artists around the restaurant, made for good points of conversation.

If you're gonna go to Kerbey Lane, go to the original. Dog friendly. Beautiful building, location and gorgeous crape myrtle trees. The food is great, well priced and the staff is very responsive and genuinely sincere. The parking can be a bit hard to find, but definitely worth a short walk if you can't find anything street side.

Pet friendly! Food was delicious! I had a Cobb salad with the cilantro vinaigrette, it was fresh and scrumptious!!! The waiter brought out a fresh bowl of cool water and some biscuits for our puppy. We sat outside in front of the restaurant, there was a fan keeping us cool. . Bathrooms were clean and staff was very friendly!

This is the original location of an Austin based chain. Come for the pancakes stay for the true Austin casual hospitality. My daughter adores the hot cocoa here. My son is pancake king. I love the omelets, the chicken tortilla soup ( hold the chips and corn), and queso. The parking is less than ideal. God speed on that. Sometimes you can grab a street spot. This is Austin’s iteration on a diner. There is something here for everyone.q

Went in for lunch after a rough morning when I learned that my friend with cancer was no longer with us. Our server went above and beyond to make me feel better and I am beyond thankful for Erica (hope I spelled it correctly). I'm glad there are still good people in the world, and that I found one at my favorite restaurant when I needed it the most.

Staff is great, the local artwork on the walls is always fun to look at, the food never disappoints, and the proportions are great for the price. A true Austin staple. Cowboy queso always a must have.

I was leaving the doctor’s office and decided to stop by at Kerbey Lane Cafe on Kerbey Lane to enjoy breakfast. Parking is an issue here where have to rely on street parking and pay attention to the many complex city street parking signs. I need up finding on the street but even still nervous about laving my vehicle there. This is the original located residing in an old house and greeted nicely when I entered. I was seated at a table and ordered coffee. They have a wonderful selection of breakfast choices and zeroed on the American Classic. You some options and I selected scrambled eggs, bacon, artisan toast and black beans. This place a historic ambiance where feels like old Austin. I was very comfortable which drinking my coffee. Soon my eggs arrived and they tasted very good. It was a lot of food compared what usually I eat but enjoyed it all.

If you’re a fan of Kerby lane cafe please do yourself a favor and check out their cute little spot in the central Austin area. This old home style restaurant says mom and pop thoroughly. The service is great as always and of course the food is above par. The only reason I rated 4 stars is because if the parking. There is no parking lot, you’ve got to find a spot on the street side. If you arrive during rush time better be ready to walk.

The last time I was at Kerbey Lane was at least 6 years ago and this is my first time at this original location. Place gets busy and the wait time was about an hour on a Saturday during lunch time. Once in, we ordered the following: Chipotle beer batter Fish and Chips - really enjoyed the main dish, the beer batter fried over the Cod was crispy and fresh. It was even a little spicy which gave it a nice kick. The chipotle sauce made it a bit more elevated than the usual tarter sauce I get. I liked the shoe string fries that came with it. I don't like coleslaw so I didn't eat this and am unable to rate. Chipotle chicken sandwich - a bit on the bland side but was still good. Came with the same fries. Classic Queso - I was really excited to try this as I've heard a lot about it. I rank it pretty high up there though it's not my favorite. My top is still Torchy's but it's much better than some of the other places around. Jr Quesadilla - For the kiddo, it was basic and did the job. The side for this was Mac and cheese which was actually pretty good for a kids menu item. Mimosa Sunrise - sparkling, pomegranate & pineapple juice. It was okay. I've had better mimosas. Service was excellent, along with the ambience. There's artwork for sale on the walls. The prices were a bit high which is why I took out a star. Overall it was a pretty good experience. I would definitely come back, but on a weekday though...kids eat free with adult entry purchase on Tuesdays!

The original Kerbey Lane is an Austin essential and will forever serve up mighty fine brunches. Pancakes are their signature and it shows. Each pancake variety is well cooked and enormous. The seasonal specials are worth noting because that's where the creativity shines. So visit twice. The first visit should be for a brunch staple, and the second visit should be for a seasonal dish. Skip anything Tex-Mex, always get the queso.

The food and the environment was amazing! Super fun and cute place. There was a strange smell at first but it was nothing bad. The food is great and so is the service. I got the seasonal pumpkin French toast which was very tasty. But what I most recommend is the queso! Super tasty and yummy and a great appetizer!

Host was not nice. He literally threw our cutlery on the table and left. Other than that.. FOOD was GREAT! I had the avocado fried tacos. Waiter was really nice as well. Nice casual date option. Nice ambiance.
