OMGGSA!!! (Oh My Goodness Gracious Sakes Alive) The Texas Benedict is the very best version of eggs benedict I have ever put in my mouth!! Regular eggs benedict is usually made with an english muffin, hollandaise sauce, ham & your usual poached egg. Kerbey Lane has their Fall menu with a Texas version that was absolutely amazing! Grilled thin Cornbread (in place of the english muffin), thinly sliced steak (instead of ham), wonderful delish queso (instead of hollandaise), topped with avocado slices. This is the food that you go back to get because you keep thinking about it for days afterwards. Our server was really nice. The wait for a table was reasonable on a Sunday brunch crowd. Now I know why there was a crowd for sure! Everything our table ordered was wonderful! Coffee was good and the atmosphere was cafe casual. Will dream of this meal for a long time to come.

So, my friends and I go here all the time. My friends and I were there last night and we were seated right away and greeted by a friendly waitress. There was a small issue in the kitchen and we saw nothing of it, but the staff did. The manager Shannon came over and offered us a drink to go or dessert on the house. We picked the dessert and when we got the bill it was all free. Now,I have been in the customer service industry for 14 years and have never seen a dang thing like this. But, then we were outside smoking and the manager came out and stated that it was customers like us that are family and it was the least they could do. Yes, we did leave the waitress a nice tip because of it. We will not stop coming to that location.

My family and I had dinner for the first time at Kerbey Lane on South Lamar this weekend. We each got something different and we all loved it! The waitress was awesome and very helpful explaining the different unique things about the café and then, they comped our meal as a customer appreciation kind gesture. We will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu.

My Wife, daughter, and I were looking for a ATX original and ran across this eatery! Food was pretty damn good, and nice size portions for your buck! The pancakes were great, my daughter loved her French toast, and my wife said it was the best migas she’s ever eaten! Overall a great experience!

Anytime I'm in Austin, I make sure that Kerbey Lane Cafe is a destination for breakfast. I've eaten there on several occasions and am always pleased with the service and food. It is a popular place, and because of that, it can be kind of loud but not prohibitive. I'm already looking forward to my return visit.

Loved the meatloaf my Dad and I split and our Vegan loved her breakfast platter as well. First time ever at this location. Always lived in northwest Austin back in the day. Lot's of Love in the Kitchen preparing the food y'all!! Thanks, Backa da House! 🧑‍🍳

We went there to have dinner. We had sweet potato fries, grilled chicken panini sandwich, pan seared salmon with Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes as sides, and one french toast. Sweet potato fries and the panini sandwich were too good. It’s been a while we had such delicious sandwich. It deserves a 5/5 at least according to our taste bud. Pan seared salmon was good and decent. It was not something special. A regular pan seared salmon. However, stir fried sprouts probably mixed with BBQ sauce was super delicious. From my point of view mashed potatoes could have been a little better. It didn’t taste like the regular ones. And lastly French toast, we didn’t really like the french toast. It lacked the texture and amount of ingredients (Butter and sugar) that makes a french toast. We could call it a healthy french toast , ha ha. Ambience was really good and the service was even better. 5/5 to these. I would definitely recommend my friends to go there and I will also go there again to try something else.

This is a brunch spot but I made the mistake of getting salmon tacos. It lacked all the flavor so don’t recommend. Server was amazing though. The atmosphere was ok. Since my big group sat outside and thought it would be fine with the fans but it was still quite hot so I don’t recommend sitting outside this summer.

First try of one of Austin « institutions » as I was told. A very good experience. We went there for breakfast. The sauce that goes with queso is very good. The best one I ever had. I took the blueberry pancakes but regret not to have selected a more elaborated dish. The restaurant claims fresh and home-made food. One thing that typically makes me think that food is home-made is that if you ask for a change, they easily accept. This was the case here. We were offered a salad fruit which is nice. The waitress paid a lot of attention to us. Very good service. We went early in the morning and could get a table fast. After 9:00 am people started to queue for getting a table. A sign that says a lot about the appraisal of the place by people. Happy to discover the place. Quality of ingredients: 5* Taste: 5* Service: 5* Ambiance: 5* Quality/price ratio: 5*

I've been eating at Kerbey Lane for YEARS, but typically, I patronize the location closer to the University of Texas - on Guadalupe St. I love the fact that they have always had vegan options and stay open late. Recently, I stopped in to the S. Lamar location and had the vegan chili and cornbread and an Oat Milk latte. Everything was delicious. But my real reason for leaving this review is to specifically commend one of the waitstaff, He was extremely hospitable and kind after I had an exceptionally long day. Attentive and upbeat, his demeanor made my entire day better! Not only will I continue to be a Kerbey Lane customer, but I'll make it a point to visit the South Lamar location more often! P.S. I can't post pics of the food because I was starving and inhaled it rather quickly. Next time, though!

Brunch was decent. There were 9 of us so we had to wait ~30 minutes. I think the best is cinnamon swirl pancakes-really fluffy and full stack size larger than your face. I tried the enchilada Benedict and was underwhelmed. Overall decent place, mimosas pretty standard. Service was fast when we told the waitress we needed to rush to other plans.

I’m from Jacksonville Florida. My family took us to Kerbey Lane for brunch. I tried the Green Chili Mac with the fried chicken tender topper and it was amazingly good. Such a huge serving I ate my fill and brought some home too. Love that they’re pet friendly and also that they have a full service wet bar too. Will be back!
