First time upon recommendation. Almost left because of line. Staying was the best decision I was ever coaxed into. I got a beer in line to help pass the time. I made some friends in line who had been before and had great suggestions. Once inside ordering process was neat and quick. Offered a beverage right away since they knew we had been waiting. I went with hot saki. Ordered a Miso Not with a fire bomb some nori and an extra egg. Don’t forget to order extra noodles because they will come in handy when you inevitably decide you want all that broth in your tummy without drinking it straight up. Legit AF all around. New staple when visiting!
Y’all have the best ramen! We tried the Brussels sprouts for the first time and wow were those amazing! I’ve never had Brussels sprouts that delicious! Y’all are really killing it! Everything I’ve ever tried is always incredible!
Food is amazing.
Line looked long but flowed really well
A gentleman monitoring the line was friendly and effective at providing a comfortable level of service.
The ladies ringing us up and also delivering food seemed angry and a little disenchanted with being there. I was grateful for some "coaching" from the cashier, but the delivery was such that I couldn't tell if she was really helping me or f'ing up my order on purpose. Perhaps if I appeared younger and hipper, hmmm.
Great food, nonetheless - this was my 3rd time there - I'll be back!
Love this place! Had to wait in line but who cares! Sooo sooo worth it! Will come back! Food and employees are amazing, very hospitable. That matters a lot! They kept that line going. Looking forward to our next visit which is going to be this week!
The place was freaking packed and these guys were the the nicest, most hospitable people I’ve ever eaten at. Of course the food has always been incredible.
Well worth the wait. Absolutely delicious food! Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, and a stacked menu. A wonderful dining experience.
What a fantastic lunch, or dinner... love the Original, extra noodles and a 'spicy bomb!!! Many options and add-ons, so have any way you like. I've been a fan for the past 2-3 years and still can't spell any of the menu options. Maybe another one of my favorites: Mi-So-Hot. Love it!!!
Staff was amazing and upbeat. The food was full of flavor and wonderful. New fav spot.
Always a delightful experience! I can never finish the whole bowl, but I always try because it's so delicious. Would definitely recommend.
My first time here did not let me down! The food, and experience were amazing! I had the #1, and it was probably one of the best things I have had in Austin. Thanks guys!!
Blown away. Drove in from the BCS area to drop a family member off at the airport and decided to have lunch. The atmosphere can be a bit chaotic because you have no privacy and at times the music can be obnoxiously loud. I prefer this location to the one in the north part of Austin. For some reason they taste different. The ramen here was superior even though that is weird. Its the same place, but still. Got the Tonkatsu original with a spicy bomb and corn bomb. Flavor explosion. Every bite was savory down to me drinking every ounce of juice left in that bowl. Best ramen I've had so far. Wish they had one closer to the BCS area because I'm sure it would explode, especially with all the college kids. You won't be disappointed coming here if you are a fan of ramen. The service is amazing and attentive with people roaming around constantly checking on you. The food is what makes this place as well. Whenever I'm in the Austin area I plan on making a stop here.
Delicious! I haven't been here since the Pandemic but it felt like home when we went! Great place to get together with friends. All the food is amazing and the atmosphere is just fun. A true Austin spot.
One of the best ramen places I have tried so far.
Tonkotsu slider is juicy, karage is crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the OG and the spicy miso both didn't disappoint.
Tsukemen was savory, sour and sweet. It reminded me of well cooked sweet and sour fish you can find in authentic Chinese restaurants, without the pain of picking out fish bones.
And! The staff are very friendly as well. I was able to get some twine to fix up my dash cam.
Highly recommend 👍
Don't let the line out the door fool you, the folks at Ramen Tatsu-Ya on S Lamar know how to keep things moving. You'll be inside and slurping it up in no time.
We get The OG but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The broth is a perfect emulsion of fat and flavor. You can tell they really put a lot of love into each bowl.
I absolutely loved this establishment! The menu was so diverse and fresh. Had a me-so-hot, and it was not entirely spicy. Thank goodness a buddy got the hottest, and he was in tears. Had tried the chicken appetizers and whoa that was very refreshing. We also ordered the slider, and I didn't get to try it, but everyone else at the table was highly impressed. I loved the consistency in the broth. You can tell it's genuine and fresh.

My favorite ramen spot anytime I’m in Austin! (All the locations I’ve been to, I’ve had a great experience). I love the aesthetic too.
I come here pretty often because I think they have the best ramen in Austin, so I've tried pretty much every item on the menu. My top choices are the nu skool, ol' skool, and shoyu ramen, however I would recommend adding a "bomb" to ol' skool because it doesn't have as much flavor as the others. I personally don't like the miso ramen and curry nu skool because the flavors are a bit unbalanced imo. Their noodles have a great chewy texture, but I'm giving them 4 stars because they are a bit skimpy in terms of meat (each ramen only comes with one piece of chashu).
One of the best ramen places I’ve been to. Got the OG Tonkatsu (ramen) which had a nice think piece of chasu and lots of green onions. Broth was rich and smooth -$12.50 is a pretty good deal. Also had the gyoza - perfectly cooked, crispy on the bottom and moist on top and great flavor in the filling. Go off peak hours for less of a line. Fri - 8p expect to wait 20 mins. They also have take out as well. Great place overall.
Did not know what to expect when we came here. We're new to Austin.
We read that it was a very good restaurant.
Still, we were blown away at how good the Ramen bowls were.
1. The host was very polite and helpful with his explanations.
2. The waitress was always coming by for refills.
3. The chef was superwoman without her cape, pumping out the orders in literally no time. Kudos to this woman.
4.The TASTE....
AH...
AHHH...
AHHHHH....MAZING.
Once again, blown away how good everything tasted.
Will be coming back to taste everything on the menu.
MyTake: By FAR my most FAVORITE place so far to get ramen in ATX!! Fun and easy atmosphere, you can sit in from of the kitchen to watch the masters at work, and fun drinks to get the party going! LOVE this spot for delicious noodles!
Amazing vegan ramen! I ordered their curry nu skool and it was amazing, full of flavour and deliciousness! I was not sure of the almond milk based broth but i loved it. If you like it spicy, I highly recommend trying out their fiery bombs to add a little kick,it will be amazing! Will definitely visit again!

Kept my word, visited my favourite ramen place again when I was visiting Austin this time. I was in town for a week and the first place I went to was Ramen Tatsu-ya and the last place was also Ramen Tatsu-ya! 2 times in a week bombed myself with flavour and umami. Same amazing taste, friendly staff! If you don’t have a reason to visit Austin, this places gives you one!
